Survivor, Ep. 30.3

No Collar Camp - After Tribal
I still can't believe Vince is gone! Nina is going to flip out being in an alliance all by herself. Joe was surprised that Will flipped and decided to vote for Vince. He said he doesn't know if he can be trusted. So basically, Will took a for-sure alliance with 3 that could have gotten the upper hand 3-2...and is now #4 in a 4-person alliance. Not the smartest move.

Nina cries and tells them they might as well vote her out because she knows that they are all going to stick together. They told her not to give up because nothing is decided. She whined about her hearing again. You know, they wouldn't make it an issue if SHE would stop using it as an excuse.

White Collar Camp

Shirin is talking to the monkeys and they are talking back. She's psyched and she can't believe that the monkeys "just got it on". She said she saw it from start to finish. Um...WHY would you stick around for that? Then she proceeded to tell the entire tribe about it. Tyler said she was being as loud and annoying as a howler monkey. He said she is not fitting in and this is just painting a black X on her back.

Max, Joaquin, Tyler, and Shirin go looking for the idol. Carolyn sits at camp laughing. Umm...here's a thought Carolyn: I know you have the idol, but you might want to show some interest in looking for the idol so the others don't think you have it. Like Tyler. He knows you have the idol, but he's playing along. Shirin said they should take a break and they should make a pact to not look for the idol until they get another clue. Max said he wasn't going to listen to someone who was hard-core looking for the idol before she needed to. Joaquin shows Tyler the first clue. He wanted to continue to look for the idol because he knows he's on the outs. Tyler was very happy that he showed trust by showing that to him. That show of loyalty paired with Shirin's annoyingness would put Shirin first on the chopping block.

Blue Collar Camp
"That's the best batch of water we've made!" I guess it's the little things :)

Dan continues to try to be funny and the tribe continues to think he is not funny. He made a not so nice "joke" about Rodney's mom and Rodney didn't take it too kindly.

Mike continues to work hard around camp. He's chopping wood and doing all kinds of hard labor. He doesn't think everyone else is pulling their weight, and he thinks Rodney is the worst. He tells him he thinks he should get up and help out. Rodney does not appreciate being told what to do and when to do it. He thinks the stuff will get done and he will get firewood when he wants to. He said Mike isn't his dad, and he's not going to go get the wood just because he told him to. Rodney said he was lightheaded and he wanted to eat first. Haha and then Rodney said "if you do the most or you do the lest"...wow.

Lindsey said everyone is working hard, and Mike never thanks them for anything they do. Now Lindsey is getting fired up! She pointed out an endless list of things they've done with no thank yous from Mike. She said about the fire they started and have kept going: "How do you think that got here? Magic? Your God? Did your God come down and do it with his f—ing beard?”. His beard? Um...OK. That kind of shut him up, and also offended him. But, she's right! They are doing a lot to help out. Not everyone has to work themselves to death every day. If he wants to do that, that's fine, but he can't expect everyone else to. Being vocal about the work of others is the first way to put a target on your back and alienate yourself from the group. Meanwhile, they are saving themselves to be strong for challenges, while he is burning up all his calories. He has no idea how quickly that is going to catch up to him. Just ask Malcolm how fast your muscles deteriorate out there.

No Collar Camp
Another first--30 seasons in, and we finally have someone attempt to surf! Hali and Jenn love surfing and they have been dying to give it a try. They grab some driftwood for a boogieboard, and off they go!

Joe thinks that with Vince gone, some of the paranoia has left with him. He thinks things are going well, and he wants to keep providing the tribe with food. He cooked up a lizard for them.

Joe tells Nina that he wants her to know she is a part of the tribe. His mom was an interpreter for the deaf, so he knows sign language. He continues to show all kinds of new and awesome skills. How cute was he with Nina! Awe!

Immunity Challenge
The last time we saw this challenge was on One World. They have to carry big barrels of water, that has holes in it, and fill a water tower. First 2 tribes to fill the water tower and raise the flag win. This time around, the course is longer and the barrels are smaller, so that means more trips back and forth.

Reward; Comfort--chairs, blankets, pillows, tarp, etc.

Blue Collar sits out Lindsey. Time to find out if getting rid of Vince will hinder the No Collars.

No Collars dumped half the water on the ground by missing the target! They were actually doing good at plugging a lot of the holes. Why is Nina running the course by herself...she is not helping with the barrel...why? What on earth are they thinking? She continues to just walk the course back and forth, doing NOTHING! Will is dying and Nina is doing NOTHING! Jeff even screams to them "What you're doing is not working No Collars!" When Jeff calls you out, you know you're being an idiot. They should have changed strategy right away when it was obvious that it wasn't working.

White Collars thought they had it, but it wasn't quite enough...same with Blue! It's a 2-team race...no surprise. If the No Collars had gotten rid of Nina (or Will) instead of Vince, they probably would be in this challenge.

Blue and White are neck and neck and it's Blue with the slight advantage, and White gets it right after. So that means No Collars go back to Tribal. Exactly what I thought would happen as soon as they voted out Vince. They have 2 weak links and they got rid of a very strong competitor. Neither the Blue or the White have 2 weak links.

Jeff addresses the No Collars and asks them what they were thinking with their strategy. Joe said they thought it would be better to have Nina at the end to help plug the holes. He admits it probably wasn't the best strategy, but in the moment, they thought it would be the best thing to try. Like Dr. Phil says "how's that workin' for ya?". That makes absolutely no sense, because once you get to the end, you're pouring, and by then you've lost all the water you were going to lose out of the holes that should have been plugged.

Blue Collars continue to be strong...they have yet to go to a Tribal.

No Collar Camp - Pre-Tribal
Can we just fast forward to Tribal and vote Nina out now?

Joe apologizes and takes full responsibility for the decision to basically sideline Nina. Nina said he immediately thought she couldn't do it and that she would slow them down. No Joe! Don't admit it! She said she should have listened to her gut and stayed to help plug the holes.

Nina thinks she needs to convince the tight 3 of Joe, Hali, and Jenna to all vote for Will. This is a hard decision because Will and Nina are both weak. Will is struggling physically and Nina is struggling socially. Will flip-flopped, so that makes him untrustworthy. As long as it is Will or Nina, I'm OK with it. I don't see how any of the top 3 could go, but stranger things have happened.

Tribal Council
Nina said the tribe automatically assumes she can't do anything because of her "disadvantage". Will said he doesn't agree, because they are really trying to include her. Joe said she is misunderstanding them as much as they are misunderstanding her because they do try to include her, but she constantly brings up her hearing and uses that as an excuse for not fitting in and as a reason why her tribe ignores her and underestimates her strength. Probst even chimed in with "today's challenge had nothing to do with hearing". Although, I would beg to differ a little bit. The challenge called for teamwork and communication for placement of players and plugging the holes, not to mention the obstacles in the way.

Nina pipes up and says they would be dumb to get rid of her over Will. She said he's sucked at challenges and isn't trustworthy. She said she is trustworthy.

Jeff asked if Nina is on the wrong tribe. Hali thinks she might be because No Collars go with the flow and take things as they come. She is constantly paranoid. Hali said if she wants to stay, she's going to have to make more adjustments and become more of a player in the game. Nina said she is listening and she is willing to do that in order to stay and be a part of the No Collar tribe. I say, too little, too late.

The Votes
Nina
Will
Will
Nina
Nina

Hmmm...this is a little concerning. The votes should have been 4-1. Which one of the tight 3 youngins didn't vote with the group? Was that on purpose? Did the others know that was going to happen? There was no talk of splitting the votes this time like there was last time. Did they still think Nina might have had the idol, so they decided to split again? I'm interested to see the votes at the end and find out who the other vote for Will was. And the verdict is...it was Hali.

Whoa....2 hour episode next week! It looks good! The challenge is a repeat from, was it last season, or the season before? It's a blindfolded one, and there were lots of injuries, I remember. Well, it looks like it happens again, and this time it's so bad that Jeff has to stop the challenge and he yells for medical. It looks like it is going to be awesome! I can't wait!

Update, 3-12-15: In this exit interview, Nina was asked if she thought she was on the right tribe, and she said “Absolutely not. I would not have put myself on No Collar. I would have definitely put myself on White Collar. My whole entire life has always been white collar. I have always held white collar jobs, I’ve always been in a management type position where I’ve managed people, I’ve been the boss, worked with budgets, worked with mayors, councilmen, getting things done in the community. I’ve always been a white collar person. So some of my social interactions with the tribe were off because I really wasn’t like them…. Deep down my core is white collar. I would never had put myself on a No Collar tribe.… when we got on the mat and Jeff announced that, I was like, ‘Holy crap! I am completely on the wrong tribe!” It was clear, any time that Jeff asked her about it, she really wanted to say that she belonged on a different tribe...but of course she couldn't say that! I thought from the beginning that it really was a stretch to include her on this tribe and not the White Collar.
