Survivor, Ep. 29.6

After Tribal - Coyopa
Dale is very upset that they targeted his daughter. He said he's not going to give up hope though. He knows he's next, so he is ready to do something drastic. He presents Jon with a fake idol. He said he's not going home because he has that.

Hunahpu Camp
They are all worried about what's going to happen since they don't have any food left. Jeremy doesn't think the situation is that bad, because they could win a food reward tomorrow and it would be fine.

Jeff shows up at their camp with a big bag of rice, and it's now time to chat about what they are going to have to do to get it. Jeff is so shocked that in 29 seasons, only once (in Season 2: Australia), that a tribe ran out of food, and they had other hardships to deal with that Season.

Jeff said no other tribe has been as bad off and in need of help as this tribe...and they're only 14 days in. First it was the flint...they lost the flint and had to trade for it. Now, they're out of rice and have to trade. Jeff wants: tarp, hammock, all comfort items that they won in the reward (pillows, blankets, etc.), hatchet, hammer, 1 pot, 1 flint...they are now starting over.

The Voice, Ep. 7.11

The Knockouts continue...

...And if you're keeping track, after tonight's episode, I've now lost a total of 5 favorite singers :(

Team Adam

Alessandra Castronovo vs Mia Pfirman
Alessandra - "Next To Me" by Emeli Sandé
I absolutely love this song, and it is the perfect song for her. I don't think you could find someone with a more perfect and clear voice than her. She is flawless every time. That high note at the end sent shivers down my spine! So beautiful. I like Mia too, but I love Alessandra.

Mia - "Human" by Christina Perri
She handled the lower notes in this song better than I thought she would. Again with the goosebumps! Wow...she had some big moments. She sang with a lot of emotion and her voice just cut like a knife.

WINNER: Mia

Team Blake
No performances tonight

Team Gwen

Troy Richie vs Taylor John Williams
Troy - "Hey Ya" by Outkast
I love this guy to pieces! He surprises me every time! What an interesting and surprising song choice. As much as I also like Taylor, I just can't get enough of Troy. I love that you can't tell if he's trying to be goofy or if he's trying to be serious. His falsettos are just crazy! I also love that he started out one way and then part way through he just totally let loose. I've never heard this song done better. He is just so amazingly talented and totally unique. He absolutely nailed everything about this song...every single little thing was done to perfection. Goosebumps. Taylor knows he's in trouble, as he just stands up and shakes his head.

Taylor - "Mad World" by Gary Jules
OMG I love this song! One of my favorites...he would have to do that to me. I think this was his best performance yet. I also got goosebumps for him. This song suited him so well, and he really did a good job with it. I have to say Adam Lambert's version will always be my favorite though. It really got good when he started to change things up a little bit at the end. So good...but I still want Troy to win.

WINNER: Taylor

Team Pharrell

Elyjah Rene vs Ricky Manning
Elyjah - "With You" by Chris Brown
He surprises me every time he sings. He was so silky smooth on this song. I think this could be his best performance yet. The end of the song was incredible. He's really worked on his falsetto, and it was really good at the end of the song. He also had some amazing runs at the end.

Ricky - "Wrecking Ball" by Miley Cyrus
What an interesting song choice. I love what he did with the song, slowing it down a little bit more than the original. He came out swinging and he slayed this song! Who knew a guy could sound so good singing this song. He hit the most perfect notes, and it was so beautiful! It was haunting and mesmerizing. I loved everything about it. I love the little surprise notes he did in those incredible runs, and the emotion and passion was just perfection. I better root for Elyjah if I want Ricky to have any chance of making it out of this round.

WINNER: Elyjah
STEAL: Gwen steals Ricky
THANK GOD! I couldn't bring myself to root for Elyjah hard enough, and it did Ricky in, apparently. I had this bad feeling that he still wanted to work with Elyjah to improve him. I'm so glad Gwen saved him because he totally sang his heart out and deserved that win. I was literally in tears when he said Elyjah's name.

Dancing With The Stars, Ep. 19.9

It's Halloween Week!

The opening number was incredible!

Tommy & Peta - Quickstep
Just how quick can the 76 year old Tommy go? Pretty darn quick! More quick than Michael could ever dream of going. I was a little worried about him after seeing his video package because he was doing a lot of resting because his knees were bothering him. Well, you'd never know that based on this performance! He killed it! He had great hold, and I don't think he missed any steps. That was great! Len said it best when he said that there's a charm about the way he dances.
Score: 28 (+32 = 60)

Lea & Artem - Argentine Tango
So eery and mysterious...I love it! She looks amazing, and I love Artem's striped suit! The dance was done perfectly to this song...great choreography Artem! It had plenty of my favorite Argentine Tango move: the gauchos. Great performance!
Score: 34 (+36 = 70)

Bethany & Derek - Paso Doble

The Voice, Ep. 7.10

The Knockout Round begins. 2 singers on each team will go head to head singing a song of their choice. The coach will pick 1 to move on. Each coach has 1 steal each in this round.

I always kind of dread this round because this round tends to be where all my favorites go home. The coaches tend to pick the people I don't want to win. And with only 1 steal, the chances of the ones I like getting stolen aren't that great. Spoiler Alert: 3 of my absolute favorites lost and were not stolen...never to be seen again :(

Note: yes, you're reading this right...there were 3, count them, 3, Beyonce songs.

Team Adam

Damien vs Toia Jones
Damien - "How Do I Live" by LeAnn Rimes
He has been one of, if not my favorite singer so far this season, so I will be devastated if he doesn't win. What an interesting song choice...never would have guessed that. His voice is so silky smooth. He was totally feeling the song. I loved the little quick falsetto that he went to, it was kind of a surprise. His emotion is undeniable. Clearly the one to beat.

Toia - "Crazy In Love" by Beyonce
She handled this song about as well as anyone could handle a hugely popular Beyonce song. I didn't care so much for the lower parts that she was speaking more than singing. But man did she kill that ending! My goodness!

WINNER: Damien

Team Blake

Griffin vs James David Carter
James - "You've Got A Friend" by James Taylor
As good as he might have sang this song, it was so boring to me! Definitely not my favorite performance of his. I like what he did with the song, but I wish he would have done more.

Griffin - "As Long As You Love Me" by Justin Bieber
OK, so I love him and I love this song. He performed this song so well! It's very different from what he's done so far, but I loved it! There isn't anyone like him in the competition right now. His vocals were so spot on...what a great performance! As good as this was, Blake is going to choose the country guy, I just know it. I'm really going to miss him :(

WINNER: James

Jessie Pitts vs Tanner Linford

BBAU 11: Week 7 Recap

Week 7 in the BBAU House

Travis Returns
Big Brother tells Lawson it is time for his best trick yet. He is going to be making Travis reappear in the house.

The house thinks a surprise visitor will be coming. They do not expect Travis. Needless to say, Aisha was ecstatic!

New HOH
Priya was chosen as the new Head of House for the week. Priya chooses to take Sandra to the Sanctuary because she is the only who hasn't seen it yet.

Shopping Task

Amazing Race, Ep. 25.5

5th Leg: Copenhagen Denmark -> Marrakech, Morocco

Kym & Alli lead it off.

Speed Bump: Getting the Hang of it
Because last leg was a non-elimination leg, Misti & Jim have to complete an extra task. They are feeling pretty good because they still have their Save, so no matter what, they can't be eliminated this leg.

For their task, they have to carry a bunch of rugs and then use poles to hook them up on the wall.

They really struggle, as Misti can't seem to get the hang of hanging, and Jim won't let her help with the more easy task of tying the bottoms. Needless to say, there was quite a bit of arguing going on.

Route Info: Cart it Out
They have to pick a cart and get it set up to sell on the street. The carts were really heavy and they were all having trouble moving and then stopping the carts. They were running into everyone and everything.

Keith & Whitney are the first to complete the task! Yay!

All teams finish, and Misti & Jim arrive. Phil tells us that they are now about 12 minutes behind all the other teams.

Road Block: Pulling Your Hair Out
They have to get hair off of hides and then take the hides on bikes to the tanner.

Bethany chose to do the Roadblock because she's really been wanting to do one to get the butterflies out. This seems like it could be really difficult with just one arm. But she always does better than you think she would. She was using her feet to help pull and it was working pretty well for her. She got some help from some locals to load her bike. I don't know how she is going to be able to ride the bike and balance. But she did, she just kind of walked the bike instead of riding it.

All the teams were at about the same stage in the task, and no one could find where they were supposed to go.

Misti bumped into Nici and knocked all her hides off. Ha! Then a local did the same thing to her. Crazy busy streets!

Now they have to find their way back. Shelley tries to push Keith out of the way to get their clue. It's clear these 2 teams don't really like each other.

Detour: Twirl Time or Tea Time
Twirl Time: twirl their tassles on their head for one minute while also keeping a beat
Tea Time: carry a tea set through the busy streets, then balance tray with one arm while the other pours the tea

I think the Tea Time task would be much harder than the other one, because the streets are always so crazy.

Twirl Time: Shelley & Nici, Kym & Alli, Keith & Whitney, Amy & Maya
Tea Time: Misti & Jim, Adam & Bethany, Tim & Te Jay, Brooke & Robbie

Misti did not hold the tray with one hand, so they had to do it again, but they aren't told what they are doing wrong. It took them 10 times to get it right. Brooke & Robbie didn't pour high enough.

Bethany only has one arm, so the balancing for her was really easy. Adam did a great job pouring, and they were the first to finish!

Kym & Alli were the first to finish the Twirl task. Keith & Whitney were really struggling and were trying to decide if they should switch tasks. They were last, and decided to switch tasks.

U-Turn
Shelley & Nici U-Turn Keith & Whitney. Noooo! They should have done Misti & Jim so they would have to use their Save.

After switching tasks, they find out they are are U-Turned, and finally in the dark, after trying for over 2 hours they complete the Twirl task. Such a bummer! I can't stand Shelley & Nici!

Pitstop #5:
1. Kym & Alli -- they win $5,000 each
2. Adam & Bethany
3. Tim & Te Jay
4. Shelley & Nici
5. Brooke & Robbie
6. Misti & Jim
7. Amy & Maya
8. Keith & Whitney -- eliminated

Survivor, Ep. 29.5

After Tribal - Hunahpu
Jon did NOT see it coming that Drew was going to go home. Jon said that if they would have have told him about it, he would have gone along with it (yeah right). He apologizes to Jeremy and tries to reassure him that he's with them.

Arena
Alec is SHOCKED to see Drew gone. He had just gotten done telling his tribe that he didn't see Drew being the first one gone on the tribe because they would obviously want to keep winning. Alec said the only thing he could think of is that he was seen as a threat. They all thought he was "Mr. Popular" on that tribe...and Hunahpu laughs out loud.

Then it's...surprise..."drop your buffs" time! Time to mix it up!

The Voice, Ep. 7.9

The Battle Round ends tonight, and the Knockout Round is up next, starting on Monday.

Team Adam

Beth Spangler vs. Mia Pfirman: "I Turn To You" by Christina Aguilera
In Beth's audition, I kind of thought her sound was a little fake, and I was surprised she got 4 chairs. With this performance, I see what they were seeing. I love that Adam really had them pull back and not blow all their gaskets through the whole song. But...that said, I actually liked how they performed it in the rehearsals better. They are both really strong singers. I think Beth was a little more interesting on this song than Mia, but they were both good, and I don't know who he's going to pick.
WINNER: Mia
STEAL: Gwen steals Beth

Team Blake

Allison Bray vs. Fernanda Bosch: "Sparks Fly" by Taylor Swift
WINNER: Allison

Reagan James vs. Kensington Moore: "Team" by Lorde
I'm very anxious to hear them sing this song. Reagan actually sounds a little like Lorde. I think they both sound amazing together on this song. They have different styles, but they totally compliment each other. I'm not sure who I like better. I like some of the cool inflections Kensington was doing with her voice. The only part I didn't like was when Reagan took the lower part of the harmony, something just didn't quite sound right. Other than that, it was a really good performance, and I have absolutely no idea who he's going to pick. If I had to pick, I would say that I like Kensington's voice just a little more than Reagan.
WINNER: Reagan

Team Gwen

Anita Antoinette vs. Mayra Alvarez: "I Can See Clearly Now" by Johnny Nash
WINNER: Anita

Bryana Salaz vs. Gianna Salvato: "Boom Clap" by Charli XCX
WINNER: Bryana

Team Pharrell

Brittany Butler vs. Ricky Manning: "On Broadway" by George Vincent
All I can say is: "GO RICKY!!!!" I have never hated an audition more than I hated Brittany's. It was by far the most torturous piece of "singing" (if you can call it that), that I've ever heard. I know most of it was just the song and the style, but I did not like it at all. Ricky, on the other hand, is completely awesome. I hate that Pharrell chose such a stupid song for them to sing. I was hoping for something more current to get a feel for what Brittany can do other than what we saw in her audition. I absolutely hate what they did to the song. Ricky started out and it was awesome. His voice was strong and he was so creative with his runs. Then the song stops and COMPLETELY changes tempo and style, and Brittany comes in with her horrendous jazzy-ness. I can't find anything I like about what she does at all. Ricky is amazing, and his voice is so clean and he's such a good performer. She can take her scatting, and skedaddle. Take a hike! Go Ricky! I'm so worried that Pharrell is just going to pick Brittany because she's different. Fight the urge Pharrell, and go with the better singer!
WINNER: Ricky

Dancing With The Stars, Ep. 19.8

Guest Judge: Pitbull

Jonathan & Allison - Jazz
I love the costumes and the theme of this dance. His lifts were SOOOO much better this week than last week! He was so strong and sure of himself, and he wasn't about to drop her. I thought the choreography was really smart and he performed it so cleanly! They were so in sync! That's definitely one of his best dances by far. The sad thing is that this week's scores don't count unless he makes it through. His last 2 weeks were scores of 24, and I don't know if that's enough to keep him around. This dance proved that he deserves to be there, and I hope he gets that chance to stay. He CANNOT go home before Michael...come on!
Score: 32

Janel & Val - Samba
Such a hot couple. I just love watching them dance together. I love her colorful dress, and it's nice to see Val's abs :) There is nothing negative to comment about her in any dance. She's just so good, and so much fun to watch.
Score: 33

Tommy & Peta - Foxtrot
Can we just talk about his video package for a second? Sweat lodge, and visions of Cloris Leachman?! LOL! He looks so stylish and classic this week! He always has a couple go to moves that get him going. Unfortunately, he was a little behind on a couple things. Overall, it was a pretty good performance. He just makes me smile when he dances.
Score: 28

Antonio & Cheryl - Salsa
Can I just say how much I love this song, and how devastated I was that it wasn't the original with Enrique Iglesias, it was the cheap "DWTS" version. Boo! Antonio looks live such a Latin lover out there in all white and that hat. You almost don't even recognize him. Loved this routine, it was so good!
Score: 28

Sadie & Mark - Rumba
She looks so gorgeous (as always) and I LOVE her dress! And her hair! She is just such a gorgeous person on the outside and the inside. I love that Mark worked so hard to be respectful of her Christian values. The dance was so beautiful and so appropriate for her age and didn't compromise her values at all. So well done. Kudos to Mark for giving her such a wonderful routine. I could watch that forever.
Score: 35 (a 10 from Pitbull!)

Lea & Artem - Salsa
The set and backdrop for this dance were amazing! For the first time it seemed like Artem's choreography was just a little to fast and advanced or her. She kept it together, but I felt like a couple times, she was just the slightest bit behind. But, that said, it was really good, and I really enjoyed it.
Score: 32

Michael & Emma - Argentine Tango
Again, the lack of movement is just not acceptable. In this case, the song was WAY too slow for an Argentine Tango. There were no sharp beats to accentuate the leg gauchos and hooks to. I've never seen such slow leg hooks in the Argentine Tango. I will say that his lift was really good. I think he nailed all the moves, I just wish there was more.
Score: 30

Bethany & Derek - Tango
How cool are those lights! I love when Derek does stuff like that!Bethany is a true pro. She had so little time to practice this dance this week, and her rehearsals just yesterday looked disastrous. But somehow, she didn't miss a single step tonight! I loved the choreography, and the whole dance was just so cool! Absolutely loved it! And then they show a slo mo and she did actually have a slip, but it was so minor, you couldn't even see it! She just kept going and didn't let it show.
Score: 36

Alfonso & Witney - Salsa
"Carlton" pulled his groin doing "The Carlton"! Oh no! You sure wouldn't know he was hurting with this fast and spicy number! And Witney put plenty of moves in there where he really had to stretch his leg and twist and turn, so that couldn't have felt good. But, how fun was this routine?! Loved the choreography, and he nailed it as always. BUT at the end of the dance, he bent over in pain, and he said he felt like he pulled it again. Oh no! I sure hope this doesn't get worse and prevent him from being as good as he is, because he has such a good chance of winning this season, and I would hate for an injury to take him out of the running.
Score: 39

The Results

In Jeopardy: Janel & Val, Jonathan & Allison, Michael & Emma

Going Home: Jonathan & Allison

I am beyond disgusted that Jonathan doesn't get another chance, and Michael gets to keep going. HE NEEDS TO GO HOME! He's not improving enough to deserve to stay. NASCAR fans: get your act together and STOP voting!

The Voice, Ep. 7.8

The Battle Rounds continue...

Team Adam

Damien Lawson vs. Kelli Douglas: "Knock on Wood" by Otis Redding and Carla Thomas
Damien's blind audition might have just been my favorite audition this season, so I'm really excited to see him perform again. I am, however, disappointed in the song that Adam gave them. I don't care for this song at all. However, I will say that I enjoyed their performance better than the original. This is a pretty good matchup, but I really want Damien to win. He had a great high note. She was singing parts of it like she forgot the words, even though I don't think she did. It just sounded like she wasn't saying the words but kind of running them together. I think he did more with the song, and showed more of his own personality in the song.
WINNER: Damien

Matt McAndrew vs. Ethan Butler: "Yellow" by Coldplay
I love Coldplay and I absolutely love this song! This is going to be such a good performance! I loved Matt's audition, and I wasn't that in love with Ethan's audition, so I would definitely say I'm rooting for Matt on this one. I definitely like Ethan's voice when he's singing a better song. However, Matt's voice is perfection. He has all the qualities in his voice that I am always drawn to. The song was suited more towards Matt's voice, and he just killed this performance. I would have loved to just hear him sing it by himself. Ethan did have one big moment, and Matt had a huge leap with his guitar...definitely don't see that too much on this show. That one moment wasn't enough for me. I think Matt hit a home run, and he should absolutely be the winner.
WINNER: Matt

Team Blake

Taylor Brashears vs. Bree Fondacaro: "You're No Good" by Linda Ronstadt
I did not care for Bree in her audition at all. Taylor also didn't really do it for me in her audition, but her voice was not near as annoying as Bree's. Like Blake said, these two couldn't be more different. I think this was an interesting song choice for both of them. I think this is going to be really interesting. The song suits Bree more than Taylor just because of Taylor's really country twang. This song choice did a lot more for me with Bree, and I didn't find her quite as annoying like in her audition. I just wish she wouldn't be so breathy. I like when she uses her full voice. I thought I might be rooting for Bree on this one because I was liking what I was hearing in the rehearsal, but she's kind of reverted back to what she sounded like in her audition, and I just don't really care for that. Taylor lost a little bit of her country twang, and it wasn't so in your face the whole time. I think I have to give this one to Taylor.
WINNER: Taylor

Team Gwen

Jessie Pitts vs. Ryan Sill: "I Need Your Love" by Ellie Goulding
This almost isn't a fair battle because Jessie has so many similarities vocally to Ellie Goulding. I love Ryan's voice. You can tell right away that he's in an a capella group...there's just something about him that's a dead giveaway. Not that that's a bad thing by any means. His voice is so technically perfect. Jessie has that unique sounding voice that isn't for everyone. The good thing is that she doesn't always sound the same when she's singing. I think they performed it well together. I think I would go for Ryan just because voices like Jessie's tend to get on my nerves after awhile. I could listen to his voice forever, singing anything.
WINNER: Ryan
STEAL: Blake steals Jessie

Team Pharrell

Blessing Offor vs. Katriz Trinidad: "Do I Do" by Stevie Wonders
This song is right up Blessing's alley, for more reasons than one. Katriz will have to go outside of her comfort zone. It's hard for me to get into this performance at all because I can't stand the song. Sorry Stevie Wonder fans. Blessing sounds so much like Stevie Wonder, but that being said, I'm not blown away by his voice by any means...mediocre at best.. But then there's Katriz! The things she did with this song were ridiculous! So much talent in such a young girl. I absolutely loved her performance, and I could give or take Blessing's. He just isn't my cup o' tea. Go Katriz!
WINNER: Katriz
STEAL: Adam and Gwen push to steal Blessing and he chose Adam

DaNica Shirey vs. Toia Jones: "Halo" by Beyonce
I love this song, and I think this could be an epic battle (and not just because they keep previewing and saying there's going to be the biggest steal yet). They both have such strong and powerful voices. So much emotions are going into this song for both of them. I got some goosebumps early on, at separate times when each one of them sang. I'm glad they both started out soft, because I knew they were going to end up blowing the roof off the place. I would say they both went a little too over the top for me, but dang, can they both sing! They each had huge moments with some really big notes. This is going to be a tough one to pick. Personally, I think I would go with DaNica because I think she has more range, and not just volume-wise and note-wise. However, I could see Pharrell going with Toia.
WINNER: DaNica
STEAL: Adam and Gwen push to steal Toia and she chose Adam

She has a boyfriend, whom she recently met before coming in the house. The strangest thing about her is that she brought 2 stuffed animal puppies with her that she kind of treated as her "real" puppies (at least in the Diary Room). That's just a bit weird.

Amazing Race, Ep. 25.4

4th Leg: Shetland Islands, Scotland -> Copenhagen, Denmark

Misti & Jim lead it off. The teams need to take a ferry to Aberdeen. From there they will be flying to Denmark. Misti & Jim went one step further from just booking the ferry, they also looked into and booked their flight. The other teams, after being told that there was no travel agent, decided to wait until after they take the ferry.

Some teams go to the airport and book early flights, while some teams wait 2 hours for the travel agency to open to book their flights. Mistake!!!

The first flight landed at 2:10. Kym & Alli managed to get an earlier flight than Misti & Jim. And ended up in first place. Misti & Jim got a 4:00 arrival, while. all the rest weren't until after 5:00.

After landing the teams have to drive to Sweeden using an energy efficient car. If they are under the allotted energy usage, they get a clue. If they use more than .1 gallon of fuel, they have to answer a geographical question.

Survivor, Ep. 29.4

After Tribal - Coyopa
Dale is on the outs. Alec says they didn't tell him the plan to go after John because they didn't know what he would do. Dale knows if they lose again he's "toast."

Hunahpu Camp
Natalie found the flint! The flint they "lost" and forfeited the fishing gear they won to get a new one. Bummer! Now they are wondering if they can barter it back. Jeff's gonna LOVE this! Meanwhile, Drew thinks his tribe would be lost without him. Can we say "delusional"?

Reward Challenge
Drew says that no one on his tribe had enough balls to bring up to Jeff the matter with the flint. Drew is hoping to barter with this "never used" flint, for maybe half the fishing gear, or maybe just a mask or spear, so they could put food on the table. Basically, he wants to make a return. Jeff laughs at them and says no, you made your choice.

Reward: choice of comfort or some grilling items
Challenge: throw hooks to get 3 bags; they will jump on a seesaw to bounce the balls from the bag into baskets

Hunahput wins Rock, Paper, Scissors and They choose Jon, which means Jaclyn will be competing for Copoya.

Jaclyn's kicking butt! She has 2 bags before Jon gets 1. But Jon quickly catches up and gets 3 before she finishes. Jon's onto part 2.

Jon's got 3 balls in the baskets and Jaclyn catches up with her 3rd. They both have 4...next one wins! Jon slips and falls on his way up, but Jaclyn choked. Next one in is for Jon, and Hunahpu wins again!

Jaclyn is off to Exile Island. He chooses Drew because he gets along with him and trusts him, and he pulls his weight "unless he's napping". Ummm...OK....

Hunahpu chooses the comfort reward because it's long-term.

The Voice, Ep. 7.7

The Battles continue...

Team Adam
Alessandra Castronovo vs Joe Kirk: “Stay” by Rihanna ft Mikky Ekko
I like this song for them, it's a beautiful song, and they have such beautiful voices. Her vibrato is so effortless. It is so perfect and not overdone like some people do. There's such a cleanness to her voice that's just mesmerizing. And then there's Joe. He's just so gosh darn cute! At such a young age, his voice is so polished. This performance totally gave me goosebumps...multiple times! They were both so ridiculously good, my goodness! Her voice just cuts like a knife! He improved so much from his audition (which was so good). Wow. PLEASE let there be a steal on this one!
Winner: Alessandra

Clara Hong vs Rebekah Samarin: “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow” by Carole King
Winner: Rebekah

Team Blake
Grant Ganzer vs John Martin: “Stop and Stare” by One Republic
Winner: Grant

Justin Johnes vs Tanner Linford: “You and I” by One Direction
I'm really bummed we didn't get to see this performance!
Winner: Tanner

Team Gwen
Menlik Zergabachew vs Troy Ritchie: “Maneater” by Hall and Oates
As much as I enjoy Menlik, I am so drawn to Troy. He is so intriguing. His backstory, his funny impressions...I love the song he did in his audition, and I just love him. I think he will be more versatile going forward than Menlik. I think Troy sounded more comfortable with the song. He just had a really cool vibe. Menlik did a good job as well, but there's just something about Troy that I just love. I loved how they started vibing off each other at the end, that was really cool. Troy has a great falsetto! Great ending!
Winner: Troy
Steal: Adam and Pharrell pushed to steal, and he chose Pharrell

Team Pharrell
Jordy Searcy vs Taylor Phelan: “Breakeven” by The Script
These 2 seem to have a lot in common musically. I liked both of their auditions, and I love their style of music. I would love to see them as a duo, because they sound great together. Another matchup of perfectly blended voices and styles. I love that they both played guitars on this song. I love this song, and they did a great job with it. They both sound so similar. Their harmony was so beautiful, especially when they sang "pieces". Man, that was good! Again, I don't know how Pharrell is going to choose. They both put a lot of emotion into it. Neither one stood out better than the other.
Winner: Taylor

The Voice, Ep. 7.6

The Blind Auditions are done, and the teams are set. It's now time for the Battle Round, where the coaches to pair up singers to go head-to-head. They will then pick a winner who will move on, and the other will go home. UNLESS another coach chooses to steal them. Let the Battles begin!

This round, each coach has the help of an advisor:
Adam's advisor: Stevie Nicks
Blakes advisors: Little Big Town
Gwen's advisor: Gavin Rossdale (her husband)
Pharrell's advisor: Alicia Keyes

Team Adam
Chris Jamison vs Jonathan Wyndham: “Young Girls” by Bruno Mars
I like both of these guys, so this is going to be a tough one for me because I don't want either one to go. Can these 2 please be a duo? Their voices are so good together! I love each of them separately as well. I think I'm more intrigued by Chris if I had to pick. This one is so tough, because they are so evenly matched. I think if anything set them apart, I think Jonathan wavered a little bit when they were doing their "Oooh"s at the end. I think Chris was just a little bit stronger and more confident. I also think that he seemed more natural and comfortable on stage.
Winner: Chris

Team Blake
Craig Wayne Boyd vs James David Carter: “Wave on Wave” by Pat Green
At first I thought these 2 might be a little different, but they actually have a lot of similarities. One of those being that they each go by 3 names. Both of them have amazing voices, but I have to admit that I was a little bit bored with this performance. Maybe it's because it's Country. Maybe it's because I don't know the song. I'm not sure what it was, but I just wasn't blown away. They are very evenly matched, and I really don't know which way Blake will go. I think James could be a little more versatile, but that's the only thing I can think of to distinguish the 2.
Winner: James
Steal: Gwen (I thought she might because I thought she liked his audition and she said she wanted a Country artist.)

Dancing With The Stars, Ep. 19.7

This week it's the switch-up! The public has voted, and each will now be paired up with a new pro. For 1 week only, these are the new pairs. Also, there will be no elimination this week, and their scores from last week will be added to this week, when someone will be eliminated next week.

Antonio & Allison - Bollywood
I love me some Bollywood! Hoping to see some abs in this one! Yep, there they are...hello abs! There is so much technique to this style, and so many fast, intricate movements, so these dances are always so much fun to watch, but seriously have to be like the hardest to perform. He looks so cute in his Aladdin pants. He's getting the moves, but he's like half a second behind her the whole time. He looks like he's watching her to keep from messing up instead of just letting go and having fun. No major mess-ups, so it still looked clean....just not as clean and precise as it could have been. Part of that could be that he is just not as used to dancing with her, and they haven't quite developed their chemistry yet. Love the ending with him being hoisted up in the air...very cool.
Score: 28 (57 total)

Bethany & Mark - Hip-Hop
How cute are they together?! It's an interesting match-up because Mark and Derek swapped partners. I can't wait to see what Mark puts together for Hip-Hop! I love her hair! Oh man, they're almost making out! I love how he incorporated some ballroom moves, and parts of it were smooth, and then they break out into some really cool hard-hitting moves. I think it was awesome! You could tell she was really feeling the music and having a good time with it.
Score: 32 (65 total)

Jonathan & Peta - Jitterbug
This dance was so fast! I wasn't sure he was going to keep up, but he totally did! They had a little bobble on one of the lifts, and then the last lift/spin was a little out of control. The whole thing was a little bit hectic and there was so much going on. I know Peta really wanted to get him good scores this week, and I think maybe she threw just a little bit too much at him to try to accomplish that.
Score: 24 (48 total)

Alfonso & Cheryl - Flamenco

BBAU 11: Week 5 Recap

Week 5 in the BBAU house...

...The Morning After
After the night in the Sanctuary, Lawson and Cat have to deal with the consequences of their actions the night before. We don't know exactly what happened, but we do know that: (a) they were very flirty in the pool, (b) they shared a bath together, (c) they slept in the same bed, and pulled the covers over their head. Make your own assumptions there.

The house thinks Cat shouldn't have invited him to the Sanctuary to begin with. Lawson thinks now that he shouldn't have accepted her invitation. Cat says she let herself forget that he has a girlfriend on the outside, and feels bad that this girl might have her feelings hurt.

Cat apologized to Lawson for putting him in that position to begin with. Jason confronted both of them and said that everyone was talking in the spa, and they all agreed that they were both to blame in the situation, and that a line was crossed.

Amazing Race, Ep. 25.3

Leg 3: London England -> Shetland Islands, Scotland

Adam & Bethany lead it off, and they decide to work with Misti & Jim on the way to the train station. Michael took a tumble and hurt his ankle. His ankle starts to swell and turn all kinds of colors of purple. It looks incredibly painful!

Kym & Alli think the rest of the teams are "square" and boring. They have 6 hours to kill and the rest of the groups are hanging out. So, they decide to go to a pub. Doesn't seem like a good idea to me.

Detour: Pony Up or Light My Fire
Pony Up -- cut pieces of peat, and then use a pony to deliver it to a house
Light My Fire -- build a Viking torch; there are 3 steps that they have to pass in the creation of the torch (Vikings in Scotland?)

Tasks with animals are usually really difficult, because the animals are unpredictable. Not surprising that only a few teams chose that task.

Pony Up -- Misti & Jim, Shelley & Nici, Adam & Bethany, Amy & Maya
Light My Fire -- Keith & Whitney, Brooke & Robbie, Tim & Te Jay, Michael & Scott, Kym & Alli

Those ponies were sassy! Misti & Jim's made a good first run, but the second time was pretty crazy. The other teams really struggled to control their pony. Surprisingly (maybe it's editing), but all 4 teams seemed to finish before the Light My Fire groups.

Brooke & Robbie seem to take FOREVER to complete this task.

Survivor, Ep. 29.3

After Tribal - Coyopa
Baylor realizes she's not safe in the game, and she's not going to trust Josh, or anyone else.

John asked who flipped, and Josh said "It was me." He realized that Jaclyn and Baylor were going to vote for Val. He thinks John had something to do with it.

Hunahpu Camp
They are working on making their shelter stronger due to storms that could be coming. They were weaving palm fronds and everyone was helping. Drew decided he didn't want to, and decided to take a nap. The rest of the tribe did not care for his attitude at all. Jeremy thinks that by day 20, he will be saying he wants to quit. Jeremy wanted to keep him around because people wouldn't give him the million dollars, but everyone is so over him that he doesn't think he'll be able to keep him around.

The Voice, Ep. 7.5

The final Blind Auditions. After tonight, the coaches will have full teams of 12.

Team Adam

Matt McAndrew, 23
He started out so quiet, and I wasn't so sure about him. The more he sang, the more confident he got. I don't think I've ever heard a guy sing this Christina Perri song, but he sounded so good singing it. His tone is so crystal clear. By the end, I was really loving this performance! My friend Amy picked him as this season's winner...we'll see! I think he's got a shot.
Turnarounds: 3

Beth Spangler, 30
She has a really rich-sounding quality to her voice. I think her timing was kind of off. She seemed to be screeching to get the high notes. I think a lot of it was nerves and she was trying just a little bit too hard. I can't believe she got 4 chairs...I didn't think it was that good.
Turnarounds: 4

Team Blake

Fernanda Bosch, 17
I did not expect her to sound the way she does. With her Spanish-speaking voice, she sounds so different when she's singing. I really like her sound, but I do not care for the faces she makes when she's singing. She kind of makes a stank face. It took more than half the song to realize what song she was singing. Wow. I think she had a pretty good performance, but she hit some wonky notes at the end and her voice did some weird things. I don't know if it was nerves or what.
Turnarounds: 2

Justin Johnes, 15
I love this song. I can't believe he's only 15...and this is his FIRST performance! Are you kidding me?! There are no nerves and he's got a really good stage presence. This kid's gonna be something. He acts and sings like he's been doing this for 10 years. Not to mention his voice is amazing! He's got great pitch...like perfect pitch. Keep your eye on this kid!
Turnarounds: 1 (only because Blake was the only one with a spot left to fill)

Team Gwen

Ryan Sill, 20
I REALLY like his voice! He sang OneRepublic, and he actually has some similarities with Ryan Tedder. He has absolutely perfect pitch. Wow...really impressive. He can hit some really high notes.
Turnarounds: 2

Mayra Alvarez, 26
Is it just me, or can no one else understand a word she's saying? So strange. She has a pretty voice, why can't I understand her? It's especially hard when she is singing in her very low register. I did not care for this song, and I was not really impressed.
Turnarounds: 2

Team Pharrell

Brittany Butler, 23
What an AWFUL song choice! I do not care for her style AT ALL! I don't think I've ever seen/heard someone on this show that I really hated as much as I do listening to her. Talk about nails on a chalkboard! Crossing my fingers that Adam isn't dumb enough to turn. Yikes!
Turnarounds: 2

Griffin, 23
He sounds a lot like Michael Bublé. I really like his style. He's pretty cute too! He's got a really nice range and a lot of personality.
Turnarounds: 3

Coming up...

The Blind Auditions are done, and next week, we move on to the Battle Rounds. To help each team, the coaches have selected mentors, just like prior seasons. The mentors are as follows:

Team Adam: Stevie Nicks
Team Blake: Little Big Town
Team Gwen: Gavin Rossdale (her husband)
Team Pharrell: Alicia Keyes

Dancing With The Stars, Ep. 19.6

Theme: Most Memorable Year

Tonight the fans can score the dances! Should be interesting because I think the judges are getting it wrong in a lot of cases so far this season.

Janel & Val - Rumba
Memorable Year: 2002 when she moved to LA from Hawaii, and the year she lost a mentor who was like a 2nd Grandma to her

She looks stunning tonight! This dance is perfect. She and Val have such a wonderful chemistry.
Score: 36 (America's score: 9; I scored it a 9)

Jonathan & Alison - Samba
Memorable Year: 2004 the year he starred in the movie Mean Girls which launched his acting career

Completely cool homage to the movie! From the Santa's little helper costumes, to the milkshake song...all stuff that was in the movie. His dancing was pretty good, but I think it could have been just a little better. It was a little herky-jerky. Overall, because I love the movie, I liked the performance.
Score: 24 (America's score: 6; I scored it a 8...or I tried, but the website never refreshed to let me vote!)

Betsy & Tony - Jive

BBAU 11: Week 4 Recap

Week 4 in the BBAU house...

Sam's Power Play
Sam chooses Sandra to be his accomplice. They will choose a housemate to go the Diary Room, and that person will be told that they have been chosen to be the face of a fitness company to promote one of their products, and they will be given a screen test. They were supposed to pick someone big and fit. They choose Travis.

In the Diary Room is a piece of exercise equipment. Sam and Sandra have him take his shirt off. He has to say that he uses the Elastitron 3000. Next Sandra wants him to pull his hair down straight down over his forehead while he stands on the band and say that normal motivations go up and down but not with the Elastitron 3000. So funny! And Sandra and Sam are totally cracking up.

Travis & Aisha's Date
Travis asks Aisha on a date. He has the treehouse set up like a little restaurant and Jason shows them to their seat. I think Travis forgot that everyone could see what they were doing. I'll just stop with that, and you can guess what they were doing.

Lawson & Jakes' Joke on Jason
Lawon and Jake replace Jason's hair product with yogurt!!! LOL! He notices right away. And right away he suspects Lawson. They try to convince him that it is his hair product and maybe someone ut water in it. They even smelled it and said it smelled like it had chemicals in it. He smelled it, looked at it strange, and then proceeded to put it all through his hair! They could hardly keep a straight face. Nice one!

Surprise Eviction!

Amazing Race, Ep. 25.2

Leg 2

Misti & Jim lead it off, and the teams are off to London, England. The flights are an hour apart.

The first 6 teams make it to the airport and have to wait for the flight. The last 4 teams are on the second flight.

The Scientists (Maya & Amy) lend Bethany a pair of shoes. Somehow Bethany lost one of her shoes on the last leg. It just so happens they wear the same size! How nice of them!

Detour: About Face or Pancake Race
About Face: join the Queen's guard and learn the precise moves and steps
Pancake Race: dress up like chef's and make a pancake; then race while flipping the pancake and they have 1:15 to complete the race

Misti & Jim, Tim & Te Jay, Maya & Amy, Kym & Alli, Shelley & Nici, Brooke & Robbie do the About Face

Misti & Jim were out of step, but they nailed it on their second attempt. Kym & Alli get it on the second attempt as well. Tim & Te Jay are the next to complete the task, followed by Maya & Amy. Shelley & Nici finish, leaving Brooke & Robbie in last.

Adam & Bethany, Keith & Whitney, Michael & Scott, Dennis & Isabelle do the Pancake Race

Adam & Bethany did a great job and are the first to finish. She had to do it all with just one arm, and she made it look easy. They complete the task before anyone else shows up. Keith & Whitney didn't quite make it in the time, which means they have to start completely over! Oh no! Michael & Scott made sloppy pancakes, so they weren't allowed to start the race. Dennis & Isabelle also just barely miss the time and they too have to start over. Brooke & Robbie continue to fail over and over. After what seemed like the entire day, they finally complete the task.

Keith & Whitney make it on their next try. Michael or Scott (don't know who's who) dropped the pancake. They are now racing against Dennis & Isabelle. Both teams make it through, but Michael & Scott failed because there was insufficient tossing. But Dennis & Isabelle passed. 3rd attempt for Michael & Scott and again one of them drops the pancake during a flip. Finally after 6 attemps they complete it.

Route Info: Drop Back and Punt
Complete 1 lap on a raft/boat. One person has to steer with a long pole, while the other person waves a flag.

Misti & Jim do it wrong, and they were standing on the wrong ends, so they have to do it again. Kym & Alli also do it wrong. A couple boats collided and Whitney fell in. Things are going good, and Whitney said "we're doing good, I only fell in once"...and then a tree branch hits her in the face and she falls in again! Oh dear. She shouldn't feel too bad, it was like an epidemic and everyone started falling in!

And now, I'm speechless as Nici has to pee...and she has to pee bad. She tells her mom she wants to sit in the water because it's just going to come out. So, she squats over the side of the boat, and well....you know...That's a first. Next the stream carried them the wrong way, and they can't get back to where they need to go. Dennis & Isabelle are having their own issues.

Teams now have a chance to go for the Express Pass. Adam & Bethany are the first to get this clue and they choose to go for the Express Pass. They successfully find the Express Pass, and they are now on to the Pitstop.

Pitstop #2
1. Adam & Bethany -- they win a trip to Sweden
2. Misti & Jim
3. Kym & Alli
4. Keith & Whitney
5. Tim & Te Jay
6. Michael & Scott
7. Brooke & Robbie
8. Maya & Amy
9. Shelley & Nici
10. Dennis & Isabelle -- eliminated

Survivor, Ep. 29.2

After Tribal: Coyopa Camp
Josh confesses to voting for Baylor. He said it was to further their alliance. He wanted the guys to think he wasn't working with her. Interesting strategy. Kind of smart. Baylor questioned his move because he didn't tell her ahead of time that he was going to write her name down.

Hunahpu Camp
Somehow they lost their flint...on day 4. Oops! Jon said he may have lost it when he set it down. He compared himself to J'Tia. Ha! He hoped by confessing that they would respect that and forgive him. But now he's worried.

Meanwhile, Reed shows us that he is beyond super bendy by pulling his leg straight up to his head! What?! He said he was stretching to prepare for the battle. Jon and Drew do a ton of push-ups and squats with logs to prepare. I don't think this is smart. They are wasting calories. In a couple days, they are going to be in bad shape. Have they ever watched Survivor before and seen what the game does to the big, strong guys?
