Dancing With The Stars, Ep. 19.9

It's Halloween Week!

The opening number was incredible!

Tommy & Peta - Quickstep
Just how quick can the 76 year old Tommy go? Pretty darn quick! More quick than Michael could ever dream of going. I was a little worried about him after seeing his video package because he was doing a lot of resting because his knees were bothering him. Well, you'd never know that based on this performance! He killed it! He had great hold, and I don't think he missed any steps. That was great! Len said it best when he said that there's a charm about the way he dances.
Score: 28 (+32 = 60)

Lea & Artem - Argentine Tango
So eery and mysterious...I love it! She looks amazing, and I love Artem's striped suit! The dance was done perfectly to this song...great choreography Artem! It had plenty of my favorite Argentine Tango move: the gauchos. Great performance!
Score: 34 (+36 = 70)

Bethany & Derek - Paso Doble

This opening is sooo spooky! Her hair is like 2 big horns! Derek looks so crazy with that weird hood on...not even sure what you call it. I love the drums, they totally give the dance a lot of intensity. I'm not exactly sure what the whole dance was supposed to be, but it was very cool! She kept the intensity and the passion throughout the whole thing.
Score: 39 (+36 = 75)

Antonio & Cheryl - Viennese Waltz
Another mystical and creepy beginning. Kudos to the prop department for that bubbling cauldron. I really hope his scores are higher this week. He's been doing so good, but the scores continue to be low. He nailed this dance...one of his best (even if he didn't have his shirt open or off at all).
Score: 27 (+32 = 59)

Michael & Emma - Jive
Fast steps are not Michael's forte, as we all know. This song couldn't be faster, and he could not be moving more slowly. He has no bounce. He just walks from place to place...just like EVERY OTHER DANCE he's ever done. Emma did her best to choreograph moves for her to move more than him. Even if he didn't move, he could have at least been on time, but he was so off. I hope it's obvious to everyone now that they should not keep voting for him. If someone else goes home before him, I'm going to be very upset. Everyone else, including Jonathan who went home last week, deserves to stay. He tries, but we're in week 7, and you have to have more than just trying at this point. (Sad, delusional note: he said he "went too fast"...ummm no.)
Score: 25 (+36 = 61)

Janel & Val - Viennese Waltz
I love that they are doing the theme of Pretty Little Liars. It's so funny that she says he needs to die. It's no surprise that she pulls off the villainess character very well. The dance was great, and the murder was very well done behind the sheet.
Score: 31 (+36 = 67) (seriously, a 7 from Len?)

Alfonso & Witney - Rumba
Poor Alfonso and all his injuries! We haven't seen this style from him yet, and why should we be surprised that he was fabulous?! He was so fluid and silky smooth, which is totally against his normal instinct and go to moves. This was beautiful. For the Rumba it could have had maybe a little bit more connection between the two of them. But other than that, it was so good!
Score: 36 (+32 = 68)

Sadie & Mark - Paso Doble
Mark's zombie makeup is so incredibly creepy, he looks like he belongs on the set of The Walking Dead. His eyes are literally bugging my eyes out. She is so cute in her little girl dress and teddy bear. And I have to say I love this song! It's perfect for a Paso, it's perfect for zombies...it's just all perfect. I love the zombies that come stumbling out of the fog...it's like this could be the group routine! She is doing such a good job! Oh no...they're pulling her away behind the tombstones! Such a cool idea Mark! Loved it!!!!
Score: 30 (+32 = 62) (seriously, 2 7s?!)

Team Dances

Team Itsy Bitsy: Captain--Bethany & Derek, Janel & Val, Lea & Artem, Michael & Emma
Can Derek keep up his perfect team dance record? I hope so! Bethany should have picked Tommy instead of Michael. He's slow, and he missed a rehearsal...great. Their theme is to the song "Black Widow".

I love their costumes! The hand-tutting was great, and they were all really in sync. I love that Bethany & Derek's solo had a lot of hip-hop in it. She's really good at that. The transition to Janel and Val was really cool. They did a lot of hip-hop too, which is the first time we've seen Janel do that. Michael & Emma did basically nothing for their solo. Lea & Artem ended strong with their solo. The ending was really cool with them climbing up the big spider web. Overall it was a really good performance, but I think they left the door open for the other team. I think their strongest part was how in sync they were throughout the whole dance.

Score: 36

Team Creepy: Captain--Alfonso & Witney, Sadie & Mark, Antonio & Cheyl, Tommy & Peta
Their theme is the Rocky Horror Picture Show.

I just got goosebumps! I think they've got this one! Look at Tommy! Ha! His solo was hilarious! Antonio was the Strongest Man, and he played the part well. Alfonso was a mime, and it was cool. Mark was the joker...naturally. Their solos weren't as good as Itsy Bitsy, but they really did a good job with the group parts. I don't know, I think this is going to be a close one!

Score: 32

Derek's win streak lives on!!!!!
