BBAU 11: Week 5 Recap

Week 5 in the BBAU house...

...The Morning After
After the night in the Sanctuary, Lawson and Cat have to deal with the consequences of their actions the night before. We don't know exactly what happened, but we do know that: (a) they were very flirty in the pool, (b) they shared a bath together, (c) they slept in the same bed, and pulled the covers over their head. Make your own assumptions there.

The house thinks Cat shouldn't have invited him to the Sanctuary to begin with. Lawson thinks now that he shouldn't have accepted her invitation. Cat says she let herself forget that he has a girlfriend on the outside, and feels bad that this girl might have her feelings hurt.

Cat apologized to Lawson for putting him in that position to begin with. Jason confronted both of them and said that everyone was talking in the spa, and they all agreed that they were both to blame in the situation, and that a line was crossed.

BB Hotel

As HOH, Cat chose the other 6 nominees to be guests in the Hotel with her. The 7 who are not nominated are to be the staff.  The staff have to sleep separate from the rest of the house, in a very dingy, yucky room. The guests, however, get a luxury sweet. To pass the task, the staff have to wait on the other guests hand and foot. They will have 24/7 room service, they will clean and do all the bedding, and making all the meals. They even have to wear staff uniforms. The staff are not to interact socially with the guests. This should be interesting! It's basically the Haves and Have Nots.

Jason made the most of the task by answering the phone with a funny accent, and his alter ego's name was Manuel. He is such a hoot!

Ryan and Leo ran the pool and spa. They were very strict about no drinks in the spa.

Big Brother says that a service award of $3000 will be awarded to the staff member who demonstrates great service. The only catch is that the guests may never find out about this award, otherwise it will be revoked.

Ryan really starts to take things seriously, and offers to do foot massages when he brings the room service. He and Sam assured the guests that they will go the extra mile to offer them all great service. It was so cute!!

When Lawson started to get a little sloppy, Ryan and Sam were there to fix his mistake. They apologized and said they were so sorry. They proceeded to drag Lawson out by his ear! Ha!

Eviction #1
This week is a double eviction again. On eviction night 1, the person evicted is: Jake
I'm shocked! I can't believe he got the least votes! What about Lisa the troublemaker? Jake, like Dion, has done nothing wrong! He left in style though, in his colorful flowery shirt, and then he laid down a sweet rap about his time in the house.

Jake received 7% as the lowest, and Skye was saved with the highest %, which was 27%.

It's interesting that the last remaining 6 nominees all have a "relationship". Aisha and Travis are sort of a couple, David and Lisa have a love/hate relationship, and Cat and Lawson obviously have a complicated relationship.

Hotel Activities
The hotel provides daily activities for it's guests.

Leo led an aqua aerobics class. And later, they gathered in the pool with life jackets and binoculars, in hopes of seeing whales with their guide Ryan. They were in luck, as one happened to be swimming nearby (it was an inflatable whale toy!) LOL They had so much fun with that! Skye said "it's Free Willy!"

Ryan said it was so rare for them to see that type of whale in Australia. Next thing they know it, one of the whales jumped into their raft! Then the raft capsized and Aisha and Cat decided to ride the whales.

Eviction #2
The 2nd person to be evicted this week is: Lisa!
The house is losing another cancer (the first being Katie). The house is going to be such a better place without Lisa. She was so negative and catty. I think a weight will be lifted off the house. I really did like her in the beginning, but I don't know what happened, she just talks too much. The public got it wrong the night before, but made up for it with not voting for Lisa. Just like last week, the public was 1 for 2. Last week they got it wrong with Dion and right with Katie.

The voting percentages were:
David 30%
Aisha 27%
Travis 16%
Cat 15%
Lisa 12%

Hotel Spa
The guests are treated to some massages given by Priya and Sam.

Aisha is the first to get a treatment. The treatment isn't exactly normal. Sam squirts her head full of shampoo. She starts to look very uncomfortable in the bath. Next she lays down on the table for a massage. Sam squirts oil wildly all over her back and then uses his whole arms and elbows to vigorously rub all over her back. He was quite aggressive and she was very uncomfortable. Priya kind of just went along with it. At one point, he kind of smacked her butt as well. She was so glad to be done and was in tears when she left. I'm not quite sure what her problem was. She didn't want to say anything because she knows they were trying to be funny. Yeah, it might not have felt that great, but still...

Travis saw how upset she was and asked if she wanted to talk to him, or if she wanted him to go talk to Sam. She said Sam seemed to feel bad and she felt bad that he felt bad. Priya also felt bad and apologized for not stopping it. Travis had a nice word with Sam about it, and Sam said he would apologize to her. Even though he told Big Brother that he didn't feel like he did anything wrong, and that she shouldn't take it personally, that it was just a joke.

Sam went to talk to her and he said he wished she would have said something instead of having Travis come talk to him. She said that she didn't ask Travis to do that. They had a nice chat and I think everything worked itself out.

Afterward, Travis and Sam had a very nice heart-to-heart chat and also cleared the air between themselves. Again, they were very adult about it, and handled it very well.

Nominations
Leo can't nominate and can't be nominated because he hasn't been in the house for a full week yet.

Skye: Lawson 4 and Sam 1
David: Jason 3 and Lawson 2
Jason: Lawson 3 and Sandra 2
Priya: Lawson 3 and Sandra 2
Ryan: Cat 3 and Jason 2
Sam: Travis 3 and Priya 2
Sandra: Travis 3 and Skye 2
Lawson: Skye 3 and Jason 2
Aisha: Sandra 3 and Sam 2
Travis: Sandra 3 and Jason 2
Cat: Sam 3, Priya 5

Cat's Nomination Power Play gives her 12 points. She can look at housemate's names and where they appear on the board, for 1 point each. She looks at her name, and sees she is below the red. She looks at Travis's name and she sees that he is in the red. She looks and sees that Sam's name is below hers. She wants to get him into the red so that he starts to appreciate his time in the house. She gives him 3 points and that puts him in the red. She looks at Priya's name and sees her name below her. She thinks by giving Priya her last 5 points, that will put her in the red and get Travis out. It didn't work. She got Priya in the red, but Travis stayed.

Nominated this week:
Lawson - 12
Sandra - 10
Jason - 9
Priya - 7
Sam - 6
Travis - 6

Another Power Play
Cat is given another Power Play. Cat is given the option of viewing all housemates' nominations. However, if she chooses to do so, Big Brother will share footage of her and Lawson in the Sanctuary. Since this decision involved Lawson, Big Brother called Lawson to the Power Room so that they could decide what to do together. Big Brother lets them see what was on the disc of them in the Sanctuary. It showed them in the pool, the bath and in the bed.

They were both so embarrassed by what they saw. Lawson said it was her decision. He didn't regret what happened, but he thinks it was a bad decision on his part. He said if it was him, he wouldn't want to see who nominated him. She agreed, and chose not to watch the nomination videos.

Lawson goes to the Diary Room straight after and tells Big Brother that he's a bad person and he's let everyone down. He broke down when he thought abut how he let him mom down. Even though he was in the wrong, I still feel bad for him. He genuinely regrets what happened.

He asked Big Brother about the 3 things they wrote down before going in the house that Big Brother could inform them about. He wrote down if his girlfriend broke up with him. Big Brother said he had no news to report.

Elocution Activity
Priya is a teacher, and she is holding a class on elocution at the hotel.

Her students are Aisha and Travis, who think they don't need the class because they already speak really good English.

Priya noticed that Travis can't say "Australian" right.

Skye & Leo Break The Rules
Skye & Leo forgot the "no socializing" rule. They were talking as friends off by themselves, which was against the rules of the hotel. It wasn't just a quick chat either. Travis saw them and told them to stop talking. He told them they were going to fail the task. He didn't say it very nicely either.

Travis is not making any friends recently. He had tried to be better so he wouldn't be nominated every week. However, with the most recent hotel task, he has been very disrespectful. And then there was the whole thing with Aisha and Sam. Ryan was Travis's best friend early on, but even he is ready to be done with him over some of the things he's heard him say recently.

Manuel's Golf Lessons
Jason (as Manuel) gave golf lessons to Skye and Cat. He kept up his "Manuel" identity throughout the whole lesson. It was pretty funny.

Lawson's Hula Hoop Class
Lawson teaches the guests many different ways of performing with the hula hoop.

Staff "Hotel" Song
The staff perform a song for the guests. Each of them had a verse. Leo had a little dig at Travis in his verse. Jason ended it with a nice little breakdown. Too bad Jake wasn't there or he could have added his own little rap.

David said on behalf of all the guests they appreciated everything they did for them.

Ryan spoke for the staff and said they would like to either talk with everyone one-on-one or as a whole group to discuss some of the things that happened during the week. Clearly some people's feelings were hurt, and if things aren't discussed, they are afraid that the house will remain divided even after the task is over.

Staff Service Award
Big Brother informs the guest that one of the Staff will receive $3000 and they will be voting for the person who they think did the best job.

Each guest named who they thought did the best job, and it was between Jason, Ryan and Sandra. Ultimately as a group, they chose Jason because he never broke character and did a good job serving. Ryan got votes for making everyone laugh and being a great service. Sandra got a vote based on her job in the kitchen.

Big Brother commended the group for a good job, despite some demanding guests. Unfortunately, they failed the task. I sure hope it wasn't just because of a little socializing. I think the staff did a truly amazing job. And maybe it was because the guests were too greedy?

Group Discussion
The Staff each brought up issues they had.

Ryan had the most to say. He said they were greedy and he wouldn't have asked for some of the things they did.

The Staff had really hard conditions where they didn't get a lot of sleep and after working so hard, they were really stressed.

Travis said he did appreciate them, and hopes they see how it feels because he's been nominated 5 weeks in a row and that's been stressful, not knowing if they're going home or not. I kind of get what he's saying, but it's not really a true comparison.

The guests decided to throw a family dinner and cook for the Staff.

Afterward Leo and Travis had a chat. Leo said that Sandra did so much more than anyone saw. She did all the laundry and most of the cooking. Travis said he wished he knew that. Leo said it wasn't his fault because they could only vote based on what they saw, and a lot of the hard work that was put in, was done in the early morning before the guests were up.

Skye's Punishment
Skye has been caught not wearing her microphone 37 times since entering the house. Big Brother has had enough. Her punishment is to give up all her makeup until Big Brother feels she realizes that wearing her microphone is as important as wearing her makeup.

Cat's Punishment
Cat told Lawson that she didn't nominate Sandra with her Power Play. Lawson immediately said he didn't want to hear that because it was against the rules. Big Brother told Cat that she broke the rules and that as a result, she was going to have 1 nomination point added to herself next week.
