Misti & Jim lead it off. The teams need to take a ferry to Aberdeen. From there they will be flying to Denmark. Misti & Jim went one step further from just booking the ferry, they also looked into and booked their flight. The other teams, after being told that there was no travel agent, decided to wait until after they take the ferry.
Some teams go to the airport and book early flights, while some teams wait 2 hours for the travel agency to open to book their flights. Mistake!!!
The first flight landed at 2:10. Kym & Alli managed to get an earlier flight than Misti & Jim. And ended up in first place. Misti & Jim got a 4:00 arrival, while. all the rest weren't until after 5:00.
After landing the teams have to drive to Sweeden using an energy efficient car. If they are under the allotted energy usage, they get a clue. If they use more than .1 gallon of fuel, they have to answer a geographical question.
Detour: Parking Space or Wedding Cake
Parking Space--choose a park theme setting and then set it up exactly like the picture in a certain amount of time
Wedding Cake--balance a cake on their bike and deliver it in one piece
Wedding Cake--Kym & Alli, Keith & Whitney, Brooke & Robbie, Adam & Bethany
Kym & Alli's cake top came off before they even started. They think they can put it back on when they get to their destination. They make it there, and they don't have the receipt! Luckily they find it across the street where they had stopped to fix their cake.
Apparently the bicyclists Kym & Alli made this task look easy because all of the other teams are really struggling with the awkward bikes. Keith & Whiney's cake kept falling apart, so they decided to switch. Adam & Bethany also decide to switch because Bethany wasn't able to hold the cake or do the bike because of her arm.
After switching tasks, Misti & Jim couldn't believe how much easier this task was. However, she didn't notice when 1 flag fell off the cake, so they wouldn't accept it.
Parking Space--Misti & Jim, Maya & Amy, Tim & Te Jay, Shelley & Nici
Misti & Jim were missing one thing (their pot had the wrong number of petals) and they ran out of time, so they had to do the whole thing over again. In the meantime, Maya and Amy arrive and finish the task after one try and pass up Misti & Jim. Keith & Whitney also get it right and pass up Misti & Jim. They finally give up and decide to switch.
Adam finally figured out the pot dilemma that had plagued Misti & Jim. Tim & Te Jay overheard them and so they also knew what to do.
Roadblock: Take a Number (Is this the first Road Block we've seen all season? I think it is...or at least it seems like it.)
One team member has to become a waiter, and memorize the ingredients of 4 sandwiches
Kym & Alli were first to arrive, and after a few tries accomplished the task.
Robbie was wrong on his first attempt. I loved how he repeated his orders as if he was putting on some sort of play.
Maya was repeating everything out loud and it was distracting Whitney. She got hers right and she freaked out and flopped all over the floor! Get a grip woman!
Whitney did great, and got it on the first try.
Te Jay is a server and he made quick work of the task.
Adam was right behind him and also got it right on the first try.
Nici got in one try and passed up Misti & Jim. Misti keeps getting it wrong. She was in there more than an hour because she was forgetting to say the sandwich numbers!

8. Misti & Jim -- they try to use their Save, but Phil gives it back to them because this is a non-elimination leg! What the heck! How lucky are they?!
Nici is such a baby! She has a complete meltdown on the mat. She crosses her arms and storms off. Phil tells her to come back to the mat, and she shouts "no!" She was mad because her mom knew she should have made a turn and she didn't say anything because she wasn't driving. That was just one thing that made her mad, because they were bickering the entire leg (and every other leg for that matter).
Misti & Jim are so lucky. They were so cocky, and at the beginning of the leg they talked about how perfect they wanted to be and that they didn't really need to worry because they have the Save. They didn't want to think about having to use it, and if they performed well they wouldn't need to use it. Well, that was the kiss of death because they pretty much did everything wrong the entire leg. They went from 1st to last. I can't believe this was a non-elimination leg!
