Amazing Race, Ep. 24.9

Leg 9: Rome Italy -> Chiasso, Switzerland
Brendon & Rachel lead it off.

Dave & Connor are STILL bitter for Brendon & Rachel U-turning them. Caroline & Jennifer can't understand why they didn't U-turn the cowboys instead.

Brendon & Rachel make it to the train station. There are only a few minutes left until its departure. Leo & Jamal, Caroline & Jennifer, and Dave & Connor arrive and just barely make it on the train as it's pulling away. Unfortunately the 2nd place team, Jet & Cord, got a little lost, and they are now in last place. Boo!

On the train all of the teams conspire to get out Brendon & Rachel. That's so mean! It's a game people, grow up! Then they start making fun of them. Again, that's just mean. I'm so disappointed in the childish behavior of those teams. I thought they were better than that. Their new name is the "Accidental Alliance". This is because they just kind of fell into an alliance by all hating Brenchel.

The teams make it to the William Tell statue, and it says to wait for sunrise to see William Tell. This means that all of the teams are together again.

The teams take off for the next destination. Brendon & Rachel were in the lead, but made a wrong turn. Leo & Jamal laughed as they made the right turn and found the right bridge, because of their built-in GPS. No!!! All the rest of the teams chose the right bridge, and not Brendon & Rachel are in last.

Route Info: Rockstar Rehab

Teams have to clean up a hotel room that was trashed by a rockstar. They have to put on uniforms and their rooms will be inspected. They had an example room to look at, and then they have to duplicate it. So many details to get exactly right!

Jet & Cord were the first to finish, but they had a few mistakes. Leo & Jamal, Caroline & Jennifer, and Dave & Connor also had mistakes. Helga came and checked each of their rooms several times.

Jet & Cord were the first ones to get it right. Leo & Jamal were next, followed by Dave & Connor. Caroline & Jennifer got it, leaving Brendon & Rachel still in last. Brendon didn't seem too worried

Route Info: Dig a Little Deeper
Their is a huge piece of equipment and they had to guess what it was used for. Somehow, Jet & Cord knew exactly what it was, and should now have a big lead, because I think it's going to take other teams awhile to get it.

Dave also knew exactly what it was, and he told Leo & Jamal, and then they told the girls. OK...this just isn't fair! Poor Brendon & Rachel...these 4 teams working together on EVERYTHING are going to be very hard to beat. Luckily, they found someone to give them the answer.

Route Info: 50 Years of Mustang
Teams have to use numbers on signs and a specific formula to figure out the year of the car they are given.

Jet & Cord get theirs right: 1967. The cars were all different, so each team was kind of on their own.

Brendon & Rachel arrive, and Caroline & Jennifer are very confused about what to do. Hopefully, Brendon & Rachel will figure it out quickly and pass them up. Oh no...Leo & Jamal go back to help Caroline & Jennifer to help them. Come on!

Brendon & Rachel are still in it, and are just behind the girls. They are actually just right behind them in the cars. Brenchel, Leo & Jamal, and Caroline all arrive at the next task together.

Roadblock: Don't Cry Over Spilled Milk
They have to get the help of a dog to exchange empty milk cans for full ones. How cute are those dogs pulling those carts?!

Caroline took a very big spill on the ice. Ouch!

Connor was the first to get his full cans. Those things look heavy, and he's trying to do them both at the same time. Wow. This is definitely a physical task. I'm so glad Brendon decided o do this one. Brendon and Connor cross paths on the gondola. Brendon had written in steam on the window "Brendon and Rachel TAR 24 Winners". Ha!

Jet & Cord are done first. Dave & Connor were next, followed by Leo & Jamal.

Caroline was really struggling to carry the heavy milk cans through the snow. Leo & Jamal didn't stay to help the girls this time.

Brendon & Rachel are done! Yes! I sure hope nothing gets in their way to the mat.

Dave & Connor think they are in first to the pit stop, but they didn't realize they have to go up to the top of the mountain in the gondolas. They reach the gondolas at the same time as the Cowboys. Leo & Jamal are right there as well. It's going to be a foot race to the mat again! The Cowboys burst out of the gondola and take off! It's a maze and no one knows for sure where to go. Somehow, Cave & Connor (the slowest of the 3 teams) makes it there first.

Leg 9 Standings:
1. Dave & Connor
2. Jet & Cord
3. Leo & Jamal
4. Brendon & Rachel
5. Caroline & Jennifer

Poor Caroline seemed to be on the milk task forever hauling those cans. As mean as they were to Brendon & Rachel, they took their "defeat" well on their way to the mat. For some reason, I just had this feeling...yep...non-elimination leg...again. This is the 2nd time they have been saved by the non-elimination leg. Had Brendon & Rachel been in last, it would have also been their 2nd non-elimination.

That's just great...another leg to have 4 teams all working together just to get Brendon & Rachel out. At least with 3 teams, it wouldn't have been quite as bad as having 4 teams against them. To be fair to Brendon & Rachel, I sure hope the next leg that there aren't too many tasks that allow the other teams to work together as much as they did on this leg. This is All-Stars and teams should have to prove their worth by completing things on their own, and not getting help on every task.
