Survivor, Ep. 30.7

Escameca Camp - After Tribal
Rodney sits by the fire and pouted. Tyler felt bamboozled after coming out on the wrong side of the vote. Mike tries to smooth things over with Rodney. He tried to make him see their side. He said Joaquin was just reeling him in. Rodney said he was working a fake alliance but he was really with blues all the way. Rodney said he would never get trapped in a bromance. Mike said he fell for Rodney's acting because they all thought he was with Joaquin all the way. Rodney thinks what they did was disgusting.

Nagarote Camp
They get treemail that hints at a merge. Carolyn says they should take out the blue collars one by one. They asked Kelly if she had any alliance with them and she said no, not even with Mike. Mmmhmm...let's just see.

MERGE!
The 2 tribes come together, but are confused when they don't see Jeff anywhere. They find a trunk of food and their new purple and black buffs. Will anyone be looking for an idol clue?

Nagarote asked what happened with Joaquin. Carolyn picks up on the fact that power couples are being split up. She knows her alliance with Tyler will not be expected, and she must keep it under wraps.

Next, they head to their "new" camp...and there is nothing left at Excameca! They're stuffed with food, and now they have to rebuild a camp. What an interesting twist! Mike takes over and begins shouting orders.

Mike and Kelly immediately go off to work and talk. She is fully committed to Mike and the blue collars. Mike thinks the 5 of them are strong and only need to pull in 2 more people,

Jenn tells Hali that they don't have Kelly because she saw her with Mike. Hali thinks they can put up with Shirin, so they should try to get all the white collars on their side. Joe is excited to see his fellow no collars.

Rodney talks to Will in hopes of building his own army to take out his former blue collars for what they did to him. He does some fast talking about siding with blue and then dissecting them one by one. Gotta hand it to him, it didn't take him long to figure out a strategy. Problem is, I don't think anyone is truthful in actually going along with this plan. He's going for a very odd final 4 of him, Will, Carolyn and Kelly. Kelly? Doesn't he know that Mike has already claimed her? Apparently going for 2 people he doesn't know (and don't know him) is his plan...because obviously people who know him don't really want anything to do with him right now. If he was really thinking this through clearly, he would be aware that by approaching that many different people from different original alliances, he is runing the risk of them going and telling others what he is planning.

2nd sting of the season: Dan gets stung by a jellyfish (so he says; could have also been a sting ray like Max). Dr. (lifeguard) Jenn to the rescue again! Jenn told him he must put it in boiling water right away, and if he doesn't, she's going to come do it for him. He didn't really think he needed to do that. He said he peed on it, and Jenn said that won't really help (apparently that only works for certain kinds of stings). Shirin looked a little disappointed that she didn't get to pee on it for him. He eventually pours some hot water on it. Quick...if he tries to stick his foot in the water pan...check him for plantar warts!

Merica

Time to decide on a tribe name. Mike said I'm good with "Merica". He thinks it's fitting because they were red, white, and blue, representing America. No one seems to disagree...out loud. Shirin pouts in silence about the worst tribe name ever. She is horrified and embarrassed.

Mike and Rodney make up again. Rodney is letting Mike think he is running things. When he's not looking, he's going to cut his head off.

Immunity Challenge
Everyone fighting for themselves now. The challenge this time is to perch on a pole and hold on.

I read a preview that said we will be shocked by the people who do well in this challenge.

Dan is sliding down further and further, and only lasting a few seconds, he's down. A few seconds left, and Will is now down. Who is shocked by that outcome? Poor guys, you could hear their skin sliding against the pole the whole way down.

Tyler gives up and just jumps off. He must not think he's a threat. Sierra is the first girl to fall. Kelly is sliding, but Shirin falls first, and then Kelly is off. Carolyn looks VERY comfortable, like she could go all day. Joe is trying to adjust, but he looks like he's in pain. Rodney asks Carolyn if she's got it, and she says yes. That was really odd.

Mike jumps off after making a slight adjustment. Rodney slides slowly to the lowest foothold, and then drops off.

Joe, Jenn and Hali are left for the old no collars. Carolyn is left for the old white collars.

Jenn screams out in pain. Something stung her! It got her right on the inside of her thigh. How is she holding on right now? She's laughing and crying at the same time. She can't believe her luck.

Hali falls down, 3 people left. And it begins to pour! They are getting pelted right now! This is an epic rainstorm during a challenge. Wow!

Joe says "I love it!" They've now made it 55 minutes.

Carolyn slips for the first time and she makes some major adjustments. She still looks very secure, as Jenn goes down to the last foothold, and she is done. Wow, I was kind of rooting for her after that nasty bee sting.

Joe vs. Carolyn.

Carolyn moves down a foothold and she's sliding. She somehow holds on to the last foothold. Joe is still clear at the top, while Carolyn is holding on by a toe! She drops, and Joe wins immunity!

I'm so happy for Joe! BUT...this just makes him that much more of a target, so it's kind of a bad situation to be in. You want to have immunity, but you don't want them to see how strong you are in challenges or you will be high on the target list.

Merica Camp
Mike says "Of course golden boy wins immunity". Now he has to rethink his strategy. They think they need to break up Jenn and Hali. They are going to tell Will to write down Hali's name, but they will all vote Jenn instead. If he sees Hali's name written down he will know that he can trust Will. Will says he will do it, but he doesn't know if he wants to go with the blue collars or try to get the white collars to join him and the other no collars.

Carolyn and Kelly agree that Jenn and Hali need to be split up.

Jenn, Hali and Shirin think they need to target Kelly because that will cripple blue collars. They don't trust any of them and there are 5 of them to deal with. I really, really hope they can start knocking out all these blue collars.

Tyler told Mike that if they want him to play with them they need to loop him into what's going on. He said he will go where he's wanted. Secretly, he's glad he has so many options.

Hali tells Tyler that the plan is to vote for Kelly. He said blue collars blindsided him last vote, so they've already burned him once.

It's clear that whoever Carolyn and Tyler want to go with, that's what's going to happen.

Jenn told Hali that she has the idol, so they need to know if they are being targeted, which one of them is the target so they can use the idol. Wouldn't that be great if she pulled that sucker out and totally blindsides everyone?!

I'm so glad Joe won immunity because clearly he was going to be target #1. I just hope things die down next week and someone else becomes a bigger target, or he's really in trouble.

Tribal Council
What a full crowd at Tribal...12 people! Will said he hopes Jeff has an idol, because HE might get voted out tonight! No one knows who to trust or how the vote will go.

The Votes
Jenn decides to whip out her idol! Wow! I didn't think she would do actually do it! Shirin is so pumped!

Hali
Jenn (doesn't count)
Jenn (doesn't count)
Jenn (doesn't count)
Jenn (doesn't count)
Jenn (doesn't count)
Jenn (doesn't count)
Jenn (doesn't count)
Kelly
Kelly
Kelly

OMG!!!! Wow! Rodney blindsided again! He can't believe what just happened! I can't believe that so many people voted for Jenn and not Kelly. That is really concerning. I was hoping only a few votes would be for Jenn and the rest would be wise and vote for Kelly. Blue collars needs to go...what are the white collars thinking? Clearly Shirin was with Hali and Jenn, but apparently no one else was. Again, I'm so glad Joe won immunity! Would Jenn have played her idol to save Joe? I'm not so sure. He could have been a goner for sure.

What a bummer for Kelly. She was playing a pretty good under-the-radar game. Unfortunate circumstances out of her control ended her game. That's what makes this game so awesome!

I can't wait to see what happens next week! Will is in some big trouble for going against his no collars. Except the only problem is, the no collars are going to be the only ones mad at him. Mike's plan worked, and he can clearly see that he can trust Will. But...will Will trust them after being lied to? Not only that, but he can clearly see he was duped into voting for someone who no one else voted for. Rodney is upset...as usual. And idol paranoia takes over! Mike is spying on Joe, and everyone is running around like mad. It's going to be great!

As it stands now, Joe, Jenn, Hali, and Shirin are a strong 4...but a strong 4 going up against a mighty 7 (Rodney, Mike, Sierra, Dan, Carolyn, Tyler, Will). Let's hope Carolyn, Tyler, and Will decide to change their minds and go with JJHS instead and flip this thing around. Let's get those blue collars out of there! And why did Will decide to flip? Still not sure about that one. I really wish they would have gotten rid of him when they had the chance and kept Vince around.

Jeff's teaser for the next episode: he says that it is going to be one of the best idol hides/finds in Survivor history. He also said next week's episode might just be the best one of the season.
