Survivor, Ep. 30.11

Merica Camp
And then there were 2: Mike and Shirin. Sierra, Dan, and Tyler talk about Mike's demise. They don't think that Mike is right about them being at the bottom of the alliance.

Dan, showing a comforting side (fake?), as Shirin is melancholy over her being assaulted by Will. He sounds sincere about apologizing for what happened at Tribal. He said he didn't know about Shirin's past. VERY interesting that he says this to her face, while he then to the camera, calls her a drama queen who loves to play the victim. He said she is being hypocritical because she called him names as well. Side note: Dan took to social media this week to clear some things up...errr...make himself look ever worse, by pretty much defending everything he's said and continuing to downplay what happened to Shirin. Don't go looking for any Fan Favorite award this season Dan. You can read about what he said here.

Reward Challenge
2 teams of 4 work to lay out planks across barrels and get their whole team across. 4 barrels, 2 planks and some rope is all they get.
Reward: a boat ride, burgers and pie

Blue: Mike, Shirin, Sierra, Rodney
Red: Tyler, Dan, Carolyn, Will

Blue put their barrels on their side, while Red used them upright. Mike literally rolls on his stomach on top of the barrels in a very risky move. They are in the lead for now, but Red catches up and it's tied.

Mike had each leg on a different barrel, and the barrels started rolling and he nearly did a split! Somehow he manages to stay on top. He is literally doing all the work, and Red pulls ahead by 2 barrels.

In a lapse of judgement, Mike puts the end of the planks on the ground, which is a no no, so they have to go back. Sierra says they have to do something, so she gets up and starts walking/rolling the barrel and tells everyone else to do the same. So they all grab a barrel and start rolling. It was working for a little while, but Shirin fell off and then Rodney fell off, so they had to start over. In the meantime, Tyler has crossed the finish line, and behind him came his other 3 team members. So, Red wins.

In a sappy moment, Dan said he felt bad for Rodney because he has not gotten any rewards. Jeff tells him he could give him his reward. Before Dan can say anything, Rodney says "no worries, I'll get mine."

Mike decides to kill a chicken and doesn't care what anyone thinks because he's already on the outs.

Rodney is struggling...he's miserable...not eating, hasn't been able to leave the beach, his nails are gross...and he goes on and on. He said he needed some "Rodney Time."

Sierra tells Rodney that Tyler is going to win the game. Funny. Ponderosa inhabitants think the same thing. Sierra wants to use Shirin's vote to try to get him out. She said taking Sierra along will help them because no one will vote for him. Rodney still thinks he's running the show and that he is the true threat in this game. He wants to focus on getting Mike and Shirin out, and then work on their six.

Reward
Mike thinks it's great he got to go with Will, Carolyn, and Tyler because they are his alliance. He tells them that Mike really believed that his alliance was targetting him. Tyler said it would be dumb of them to turn on him so early. But this is a lie. Tyler said he needs Dan to continue to believe that they weren't talking about voting him out.

Immunity Challenge
Challenge: a familiar one -- they have a bucket above their head while holding on to a rope handle that is attached to a bag that is 25% of their body weight (from day 1). As the rope unravels, the wight falls and the bucket will begin to tip. And the kicker...the top man AND the top woman will win immunity!

15 minutes in, ropes are sliding. Dan reels his back in and so does Rodney. First out is Sierra. Tyler is out next. Will doesn't stand a chance, and he is done. Dan doesn't look good, and Shirin's hands are getting numb. Dan tries to reel it back again, and he can't.

Rodney vs Mike and Carolyn vs Shirin.  How awesome would it be if both Mike and Shirin won. It was not meant to be because Shirin could not hold it any longer. Carolyn is a beast.

Carolyn wins immunity for the women.

Dan sweet talks Rodney...whispering sweet nothings in his ear. Rodney is on the ground, I don't see how he can have any leverage from that angle. Mike looks comfortable, but as Dan says, he's twitching. Mike is whispering something to himself, as Rodney is straining for every last ounce of strength he can muster. And it's not enough!!!

Mike wins immunity again!

And once again, their plans are foiled. Looks like it's bye-bye Shirin. How completely awesome would it be if Mike would give Shirin his idol and totally surprise everyone! He won't do it, but wouldn't that be awesome!

Merica Camp - Pre-Tribal
Time for the ultimate fan to do some epic scrambling.

The gang says tonight's vote will be an easy vote: Shirin. There is no need to split votes because they would have to vote for one of their own.

Shirin talks to Dan. She said the group is stupid to vote her out because she's not a threat to win challenges and she's not a threat to win the game. Voting her out could happen any time. Why not take this time to vote out a threat. Dan said he totally agrees with her...but she knows he won't do anything about it.

Next, she talks to Sierra. Sierra wanted to know who Shirin would target if she would flip. Shirin said Tyler. Sierra also recognizes that sticking with Shirin would be smart because she could beat her.

Tyler gets a curious mind. He really wants to know what Dan's advantage was that he won. He goes and steals Dan's bag...and he finds the clue! Tyler tells Carolyn about Dan's extra vote. He's worried that Dan will use his extra vote to get him out.

Mike and Dan talk, and Dan said he's not feeling very good. Dan said he's worried someone will whip out an idol and then he could go home. Mike knows he might not win immunity next week, so he still has work to do. Mike wished there was a way to prove to Dan how loyal he is to him, but he knows he ruined that trust.

Well, Mike is seriously considering using his idol. He knows that everyone is voting for Shirin. He could make a huge move by sharing the idol with her. Oh please, let it be! ...even though I think Tyler deserves to stick around, and would much rather see Dan or Rodney or WILL go home!

Tribal Council
Jeff again brings up Shirin's story from last week. Dan said his story is no different because he was adopted. He was saying that him not knowing his family is the same as her having no relationship with her family. Jeff said, oh, you have domestic violence in your family as well? Dan said, no. Ha...Jeff put him in his place.

Will again refuses to apologize and make things right with Shirin.

Shirin makes a last ditch plea for them to go after Tyler, who's won an immunity. She said she's not a threat, and they are making a $1 million mistake by not taking the opportunity.

Carolyn said they have a 6-strong alliance and timing is everything. Mike said next week, if he wins immunity, they will have to cannibalize and turn on their own...why not now! Mike implored them to write a name that starts with T. He said he was blue strong all the way. Tyler said, oh, and you're loyalty record has been perfect?

Tyler said they need to put on blinders and stay 6-strong because that's what you have to do in this game.

Last words...Mike says he KNOWS he and Shirin aren't going home because he's got an idol for her! Oh snap!!!!! And to top it all off, he's going to make them play Russian Roulette. He said that Shirin is voting for Tyler and he is voting for someone else. They can either jump in line and vote for Tyler, or hope for the best with the tie. Booyah!!!! EPIC MOVE!!

The Votes
When Jeff called for the idol...Mike stands up and says "I love you girl" and sits back down. OUCH!

Tyler
Shirin
Dan
Tyler
Shirin
Dan
Shirin
Shirin

With a fan-girl smile on, Shirin makes her exit. Like Jeff, I'm confused by these votes. He points out that their "strong 6" appears to not be so strong.

Why couldn't he have just given it to her! They had to know he was lying and that he wouldn't actually use it, so there was no point in lying about it...at that point you have to make the move! They called his bluff, and they were right.

Well, at least it looks like next week, tensions are high as the "flippers" are called out. The flippers were: Tyler and Will, who both voted for Dan.
