Dancing with the Stars, Ep. 20.6

Week 6: Spring Break

Round 1: Individual Dances

Patti & Artem - Quickstep
Patti doing her signature 'moving without moving' routine. She did cross the floor 2 times at a relatively "quick" speed, but in between, it was a lot of filler as usual. She was off-time on the hopping section in the middle. I love Len: "it was the best dance of the night". LOL
Score: 29

Nastia & Derek - Tango
I had flashbacks of an old Derek routine with those lights! He really wasn't kidding when he said he traveled across the floor faster with her than anyone. He whipeed her around like she was nothing, and she was with him every single step of the way. Take note Miss Patti: that's how it's really done. She looked exceptionally gorgeous tonight.
Score: 34

Willow & Mark - Salsa
She looked like she was havin so much fun in this dance! There was so much salsa content, and the lifts were pretty crazy. Such a fun, fast-paced routine.
Score: 34

Robert & Kym - Jive
Let's hope he found his quick footing after last week's debacle. He did much better this week. He was on the beat most of the time, but I think he did go wrong at least once. Kym didn't hold back, and gave him some pretty difficult choreography. Overall, it was fun and he did a good job.
Score: 28

Noah & Sharna - Rumba

This is going to be a pretty big challenge for him (as if any of the dances are much easier). The slow dances really exentuate his flaws. First of all, I hate this song, and this version was especially painful. Whoa, he nearly did a split there! Wow! That was impressive. The judges criticized them last week for not having enough content. I don't know that there was that much added this week. I feel bad for him because he said all he could focus on was his argument with Sharna in the video package. There was clearly a lapse of concentration at one point. There were some nice moves, but this was not my favorite dance for him.
Score: 29

Rumer & Val - Jazz
Bootylicious...love it! I love the concept of this dance. She totally rocked this out. She's been great all season, but this wa just so incredibly good! I loved the lifts and flips. She looked 100% like Demi in this dance with the long hair. So much fun!
Score: 32 (votes all over the place...7 to 9..I thought it was amazing!)

Chris & Witney - Viennese Waltz
This was such a pretty dance. I thnk Chris really listened to what the judges have been saying. His musicality seemed a lot better tonight. He was smooth and the dance had flow, and his turns were really good. Something he isn't always good at.
Score: 31

Riker & Allison - Samba
Can I just say thank you to the DWTS producers for giving them a different song after they asked for it. Missy Elliot's "Work It" is an absolutely disgusting song, and Allison was right, it was absolutley wrong for Riker. Instead they got Jason DeRulo's "Want To Want Me". This was so perfect for him! Allison only having a couple days to put the dance together, and him being unable to rehearse because of commitments with his band R5...you would never know it! This dance was absolutely incredible! It was so much fun! I loved everything about that. I don't know how I end up liking each performance better than the last. I did not want that dance to end!
Score: 37

Round 2: Group Dances

Team Yolo: Nastia & Derek, Willow & Mark, Noah & Sharna, Robert & Kym
Just sit back and enjoy folks...you've got a routine that involves both Derek and Mark! The theme is a Wipeout! beach party! All the solos were impressive. Nastia through in some gymnastics moves and Derek twirled her all around. As a group they were very in sync, which is so important...right down to the last lift to the guys' shoulders. I was so worried about this dance (but should have known better). Nastia and Derek missed out on a TON of rehearsal time with the group, and Derek had to learn the dance via FaceTime. You would never know it by this performance...truly professional and spot-on, as usual. So, will Derek's perfect Team Dance win streak continue?
Score: 39

Team Trouble: Rumer & Val, Chris & Witney, Patti & Artem, Riker & Allison
Clearly the best solo was Riker & Allison -- all the hand tutting was awesome! We got to see Chris's bare chest which was nice. Overall, it was a really fun routine, with Patti at the helm as the head teacher. I don't think there was as much group work as the other team.
Score: 39
