Bachelor In Paradise, Ep. 1.5

Rose Ceremony Continued...
We last left with Graham seemingly walking out on AshLee's rose offer, and then Michelle going after him...

Michelle thinks that his anxiety over AshLee was making him physically sick. Clare mentioned how interesting it was that AshLee just stood there holding her rose, and she didn't seem the least bit concerned about Graham! Michelle was the one to go after him and make sure he was OK. That was just bizarre! And it really says a lot about her.

Eventually, he does accept the rose (boo!)

Next, Lacy dashes out of the room because she's going to throw up. Looks like there's a bug going through the group. She does end up puking, and Marcus went after her. He suggested that she go to the hospital and that he would go with her. They did an IV on her in the ambulance, and Marcus held her hand through the whole thing. Sweet moment...but sucked for her.

Back at what's left of the Rose Ceremony, and it's now Michelle's turn. Michelle offers the rose to Cody...not much of a surprise there.

Sarah gives her rose to Robert

Jackie gives her rose to Jesse! Shocker! Poor Marquel! I thought she would stick with Marcus, who is clearly the better guy. Apparently she was buying all of his BS hook, line and sinker.

Going home: Marquel and Kalon

Is anyone surprised that Kalon didn't get a rose? Absolutely no one. Good riddance.

New Arrival: Christy

Christy (Juan Pablo's season) arrives. Zack and Christy have met before and he said they sort of had a connection. Christy comes with a date card, and follows her gut and asks Zack. She said he was her first pick, even though Sarah told her that he and Clare were together. Zack tells her that he and Clare came in as friends, and he needs to decide if there's something long-term with her. He said he didn't think he should go on a date with her.

Clare is excited that he said no, and she said that shows her exactly where he stands.

Sarah introduces Christy to Jesse. Christy is hoping to meet someone unlike her ex-boyfriend. But little does she know that Jesse's reputation isn't stellar. She asks him if he wants to go on a date, and he accepts.

Date #1: Christy & Jesse
They went to a small colonial town and walked the streets. They sampled some chocolate and tequila.

Jesse's having fun with Christy, but he's glad that he has the rose to give away this time and he is safe for another couple of days. He's keeping his options open, and he just has to play his cards right. Doesn't bode well for Christy.

Christy shared her bad luck with men, and he asked how she found out her boyfriend was cheating on her. She said she found a bra on his bed. He asked how he explained it, did he say "not mine?" She said yes, and he said "that's what I would have said." She asked if he's ever done that before, and I really didn't believe him. He said he was just trying to think that if he was a douchebag, what would he say "deny, deny, deny". He sure didn't have to think very long to come up with that, did he? He looked so awkward, and you could tell he was kind of sweating bullets the longer they talked about it. Then there's Christy, who is thinking he is so cute and he's being honest and not trying to manipulate her. Yeah right!

They arrive back from their date, and you can tell they're a little buzzed. Christy shouts that it's her birthday and she wants to celebrate.

Date #2: Sarah & Robert
Sarah doesn't waste any time asking Robert go with her. She said she's really looking forward to their date, and it will be telling about where they future will go. She's excited because tonight they're finally going to kiss.

They have a romantic dinner by a tiny pool, and Robert pulls out a cheesy toast: "Cheers to our second date and a little slice of Sarahdise". Oh my...he couldn't even say it with a straight face...he was giggling through the whole thing like a little kid. Then something dropped on the floor, they both bent down to get it and banged heads. Yeah, this date's getting off to a great start.

Sarah asks him what the best part of paradise has been so far. He said that meeting her has been the best part. He said he's enjoyed going on dates with her and getting to know each other better. He said she looked really pretty. She said she wore black because she knew he liked black. As she said that, she did kind of a weird thing where she smushed her boobs together. Pan over to Robert who is full on in stare mode right at her boobs and not even blinking! This is just awkward on both parts! Could either of them be more obvious with what they are doing right now? And yet...still no kiss. He asks if she wants to go swimming.

Sarah is getting worried now that there is going to be no kiss and when he hands out the rose, he will say "you're great, but I see you as a friend". You know...the story of her life.

Instead of kissing her, he does a weird handshake/kiss thumbs thing. And then there's the weird awkward hug in the pool. And they're just sitting there...she's uncomfortable, he's uncomfortable, and she's like "COME ON MAKE A MOVE!" Could this be any more awkward right now?

And then...it happens...finally! It was her wildest dream come true. She wanted to just kiss him for hours.

Cody & Michelle
Cody's really showing off for Michelle. He used her as a human barbel. He did a headstand in front of her. Then...he painted her toenails.

Cody admits to her that he is falling for her very fast. Michelle is kind of freaking out because it almost literally happened over night.

Zack & Clare
Secretly, Zack has been kind of regretting his decision to turn Christy down. He said she seems like a nice, fun girl. He was casually talking to Clare, and she asked him if it would be weird for Christy coming back from the date knowing she asked Zack on a date even though she knew they were a couple. He didn't think she would feel weird. Again, Clare asks him what he said to her. I thought we already went over this. As Zack's talking he mentions that he's trying to figure out if getting into a relationship is the best thing for them right now. That got Clare's attention. Looks like they're not on the same page again. I think Zack needs to make up his mind. He said he wants a relationship, but he needs to decide if they're a great fit. He said she has a lot of the qualities he's looking for in a girl, but this has all happened so fast. He said very early on, she was "all eggs in" (referencing an earlier conversation about them each putting all their eggs in each other's baskets). He thinks they've pushed things too quickly, and he just wants to have fun. She said there shouldn't be anything to figure out: either he wants it or he doesn't. With that, she says she's tired and is going to bed. Zack's confused, and he said he wasn't trying to insinuate anything, he was just trying to have a conversation with her.

She ends up crying in the bathroom. Then she leaves, and runs into the jungle, sobbing uncontrollably. She said she can't handle the drama. She sobbed that she was having a panic attack on national TV, and is looking like a fool...again. She wants to leave. And she wasn't joking...she packs her things and just goes home. Zack had already gone to bed, and she went to wake him up. He knew this wasn't going to be a good conversation.

She tells him that she thought they were on the same page, but they're obviously not. He told her that he wanted to give them a fair shot, and he's had an unbelievable time with her. She told him not to sugarcoat things. "I'm leaving. I have to blow my nose." Poor Clarebear...oh the drama.

She said it's never easy to hear a man say you're not what he's looking for. OK, did I miss something, because Zack didn't say anything close to that. Zack put her in the van, shut the door, and really didn't try to stop her. I think he realized it all wasn't worth it. And, she obviously didn't want to hear anything he said any way, and if she did, she would hear it wrong.

New Arrival: Lucy
Lucy (Juan Pablo's season) arrives. If you don't remember Lucy, she's the one who doesn't wear a bra, loves to be naked a lot, and is just a bundle of energy. Within about 5 minutes, she was walking around everyone completely naked. It's one thing to walk around naked in front of people you know (weird), but it's a whole other thing to do it in front of people you don't really know (completely insane). She has a date card, and she asks Jesse. Seeing as how she is completely naked, how could he refuse.

Christy's ego was shot when she found out that Jesse accepted Lucy's date request.

Date #3: Lucy & Jesse
They visit the ruins. Why is he wearing a backpack? They had some drinks and talked about her boobs.

Then at the end of the date, there was a lot of making out going on.

By the time they got back to the campfire, it was pretty obvious they were hammered. They could barely speak.

Date #4: Michelle & Cody
Michelle did not hesitate to ask Cody on her date. They visit a hotel, and they meet with a wedding coordinator who is going to take "engagement" photos. This is a very weird date for this show. For the Bachelor/Bachelorette not so much, but Bachelor in Paradise?

Cody pretty much sweeps her off her feet during the photo shoot.

The photographer says he wants to take more pictures, but they should change clothes. In Michelle's room to change is...a wedding dress! And she is freaking out! She is not ready to do this. She is overwhelmed because things are moving so fast, and Cody's feelings seem really genuine towards her.

She goes through with it, and does the veil, bouquet and everything. Cody looks really good as he's standing under there waiting for her. He said she looked really good, and she threw her bouquet at him! He is so ecstatic right now because this is what he wants...meanwhile, she is totally freaking out.

As they're taking the pictures, people are watching. She yells "This isn't real!" "It's our first date." She said it was really important they know it's not real.

Date #5: AshLee & Graham
Apparently Graham has forgotten all of the things that happened at the last Rose Ceremony, because he is so excited to go on this date with AshLee because things are going well right now. He wants to have some fun. What happened to the horrible thing she did to Clare, and how she acted about being caught?

They go to a racecar track. She is excited for Graham, but she was not looking forward to driving fast. She said she didn't want to go faster than 20. Graham said he'd never seen someone drive in neutral like that. Ha! He said she proved that she was ready to drive...a minivan. She was happy that she was able to get it up to 40. Wow...speed demon!

Graham compared his relationship with AshLee to driving the car. At first you get into a beautiful vehicle (she's a beautiful girl). Then you start out slow, and then you see how it handles.

Jesse & Lucy & Christy & Jackie
Things were pretty awkward for Jesse coming back because he had just gone on a date with Christy the day before and had a great time, and "I like what's-her-nuts? Lucy". Whoa, did he just say that? Yikes. And then there's Jackie, who he had a date with the day before Christy.

Jesse is telling the group what all they did and he just kept saying "she was awesome, she was awesome".

Christy's pretty sure she's going home now, because it's obvious that Jesse had a better time with Lucy than he did with her. She decides to talk to Jesse, who, remember is pretty hammered. He says he didn't really want to go on the date, but he didn't want to turn her down and make her feel bad. He said he's a nice guy, and there really wasn't anyone else to go. Immediately, Christy feels better and she thinks it's so sweet of him to be so kind. Give me a break! Boy, she just buys everything he's selling. She asks if he wants to make out now or later. So, he went from making out with Lucy, to now making out with her. This is exactly the kind of guy she was trying to get away from.

There was some major making out going on...in the bedroom...and then the "sharing is caring" free spirit Lucy joins them...

Cocktail Party
The current couples are:
AshLee & Graham
Lacy & Marcus
Sarah & Robert
Michelle & Cody

That leaves Jesse to decide between Jackie, Lucy and Christy, and Zack to decide between Jackie and ? Jackie is over Jesse and it looks like she and Zack are making a connection.

Jesse tells Chisty "You're definitely one of my favorites." That's exactly what every girl wants to hear. He asks her if she wants to stay, specifically to be with him. She said she's not interested in anyone else. He said he was VERY happy to hear her say that.

Lucy tells Jesse that she just got there yesterday and doesn't want to go home already. She thinks they had a lot of fun, but she knows he has a tough decision to make. She said that if 2 girls are friends who like the same guy, maybe they shouldn't be friends. She then decided to scheme against Christy. Sarah saw what she was doing and said that Lucy is obviously not there to find love and is not there for the right reasons. Lucy tells Jesse that the night before that Christy said that she didn't know that it was Jesse who crawled into bed with her and started making out with her. She said that she thought it was Lucy until she felt the beard. Jesse was shocked.

Rose Ceremony
Robert gives his rose to Sarah
Graham gives his rose to AshLee
Cody gives his rose to Michelle
Marcus gives his rose to Lacy, and makes a very public and verbal display of his love for her, which also included a very long kiss that bored everyone
Zack gives his rose to Jackie
Jesse gives his rose to Christy

So, that leaves free-spirited Lucy going home. Jesse said "what's her nuts, Lucy" wasn't giving him the right vibes. What kind of a phrase is that? Who talks like that? It shows just what a douche he really is.

In other Bachelor news, the official announcement of the next Bachelor is going to be announced on Good Morning America tomorrow morning. Early congratulations to Chris!
