The Bachelor, Ep. 18.8

Episode Summary
  • Before Rose Ceremony Elimination: Andi eliminates herself
  • Remaining Girls (2): Clare and Nikki

St. Lucia - Overnight Dates

Clare
Clare is nervous because she isn't sure what her answer to Juan Pablo will be if he asks her to spend the night in the fantasy suite. She is worried that the same thing will happen, like the whole swimming in the ocean fiasco.

The date started on a boat, and they talked about the hometown visit. Finally something that wasn't all about her dad!

She thinks that tonight is going to be the right time to tell him that she loves him.

Later, she wants to talk about being a step-mom to Camila. Wow, 2 conversations that aren't about her dad! Maybe she's finally moving on. She said she knows she already has a mom, but she knows that she could love her too.

Fantasy Suite Card Time--she said she respects how he feels about wanting to be a good example for his daughter, and that she hadn't fully taken that into consideration the last time. Even so, because now they are on the same page, she accepts.

JP asks her what she's thinking and she said that she is loving falling in love with him.

Andi

She says she is so close to finding love with him. Guess what Andi, that puts you behind the other 2.

They spend time walking around and playing some steel drums along the way. JP had so much fun! They got some lunch, and they sat down at a table with a couple of cute kids. He bought them some food and drinks...it was really cute! Next, they started playing some soccer with some locals. Gotta hand it to her for getting out there in a dress and going for it.

They talked about the hometown visit and JP said how much he liked her dad's answer to his question about whether or not they would have his blessing. Then he said that he remembered her saying that she "really badly wanted to fall in love". He was worried that she might be forcing things. She said that she wasn't because she is considering that there is a child involved. They had a really great conversation about how seriously they are each thinking about the future. They really seem to be on the same page. Of course from the previews, we know this does not last long, and does not end well.

Fantasy Suite Card Time--She said that if he was serious about things, then she wanted to spend time alone with him. On the way to the suite, she said she was on Cloud 9, and that she couldn't stop smiling. She said it was like a dream, and she was so happy. What a difference a few hours will make, as in the morning she says she couldn't wait to get out of the suite. Meanwhile, JP is saying that he thinks that she could be the one.

JP says they had a great night and they laughed and laughed for hours. He still thinks she could be the one and he is so happy. Cue Andi saying she couldn't wait to get out of the fantasy suite, because the suite had turned into a nightmare and a disaster. She said she hoped he didn't think that it was a good date, and that she saw a side of him that she didn't like.

She said that every time she would talk about herself and stories about her past, she said he would immediately tell a story about himself, without ever asking her anything about herself. She started to realize that he didn't really care about her and what she wants in life. She said he mentioned having an overnight with Clare. She said she's not an idiot and she knows what's going on, but it was totally inappropriate to talk about with her. She doesn't think he has a filter and can be offensive. Finally to top it all off, she said she wants someone to love her more than they love themselves. She wished it wouldn't have taken her so long to realize this. She now knows that it's totally not going to work between them. Talk about a complete 180.

Nikki
Whoa, what is she not wearing! Holy crap! Her boobs are just about completely showing! And they're going to ride horses. That is not horseriding attire lady! And what was up with the camera mounted on their saddles, so we had to bounce around on their horses with them, looking up their noses. I was not a fan of that.

Later, there was more talk about "thinking". Nikki had to explain what "wheels turning" meant.

Fantasy Suite Card Time--no hesitation, she would love to spend the night with him. JP thinks he could be with her forever because she's honest, very pretty, sexy and she cares about people.

Nikki finally tells him that she loves him, and she said he probably already knew that but, it was hard for her to say. He said he didn't know that, but he knew she liked him. He said his intention is for Nikki to see the real him. So...is he saying the other girls aren't seeing the real him?

The time is now 9:11. That means the confrontation with Andi is going to take up a HUGE portion of this show! And by huge, I mean 50 minutes! An hour and 10 minutes to do all 3 overnights, and now 50 whole minutes left?! How could it possibly take Andi 50 minutes to tell JP he's a jerk and tell him she's leaving? Once she does, there's no need for a Rose Ceremony, so I have a hard time figuring out what they are going to do to fill the time.

Videos
Each of the girls made a video for Juan Pablo to help him decide who he should let go. No surprise with Nikki's or Clare's video. They both told him they loved him. And then, Andi. She said she's gone from having a crush on him to having genuine feelings. In Vietnam, she started to question things and after their overnight date, she's had a lot of thoughts, that she wanted to share with him in person and not on a video.

The Confrontation
Here we go...confrontation time!

She said she realized that she wasn't in love with him and was never going to be. Why is he smiling? Does he understand what she's saying? One of the girls he thinks could be "the one" is telling him she doesn't love him. Hello?! He said "that's OK, if it's meant to be, it's meant to be". And this could be one of the reasons why she thinks he isn't taking things seriously, and why he might not really care too much for her. She said that it shouldn't be OK and that bothers her. He blames "it's OK" on his language barrier. Is there really any possible way he thinks "it's OK" means something else? He said he respects her, appreciates her honesty. She said she's going to die, if she hears him say "it's OK" one more time. He said he's sad she wants to go, because "I like Andi". That was strange that he was talking about her like she wasn't there.

Her next biggest complaint was about him talking about his overnight with Clare. Then she brought up something about him saying that she was there by "default". He said he didn't think he said that word because it's not in his vocabulary, but he might have said that she barely made it there. Oh my, I think that's actually much worse. Saying she was there by default doesn't really make sense, and would have only made sense if Renee had left on her own at the last Rose Ceremony. Him saying she barely made it means that it could have gone either way between her and Renee, which obviously means that Nikki and Clare are his top 2. With that being the case, she might as well leave.

Andi got really upset, and the whole thing turned into a pretty heated argument. You know that things are never going to be resolved because whether it's his language barrier or just poor communication skills, conversations just usually end up going in circles. Take the Clare/ocean thing for example. It's obvious she's never going to get him to understand what she's trying to say.

She said he had no idea what religion she practices or how she wants to raise her kids because he never asked her any of those questions. He asks her what religion he is, and she says Catholic. And then there was silence. Oops...that backfired.

He did have a point that if she wanted him to ask those questions, she should have brought it up in the fantasy suite. She could have offered up some of those things more than what she did.

Then something really funny happened. He told her he would try to stop saying "it's OK" since she takes so much offense to it. That made her even more upset because he was kind of making fun of her, I think (or at least that's how it was coming across). He asked her what he could do because it's a habit, it just comes out. He doesn't mean it to come off bad, he just does it to show he's listening. She said it's annoying and that he should repeat her feelings back to her. He said "OK"...she looked disgusted...he covers his mouth quickly with the biggest grin on his face! Ooops! This is NOT going well! He needs to just shut up and she just needs to leave. There is no way for this to end in a good way at this point. Then another funny thing happened--he went to his classic move of touching a girls face, and he just kept wiping/plucking at her eyebrow. That was uncomfortable to watch. Andi was uncomfortable, and she told him to stop. Yikes!

He walks her to the van, and in his ITM he said "Am I disappointed? A little." That pretty much summed it up. He said that little argument ended it for him, mainly because she put words in his mouth. He said even if she had wanted to stay, he would have said no.

Rose Ceremony
So, there's 2 girls and 2 roses...why do we need to bother with the Rose Ceremony? Did you notice he always calls Nikki first and then Clare? Pretty obvious what he's thinking. Nikki is a little worried though because she told him that her and Andi are such close friends because they are like the same person.

JP tells the girls why Andi isn't there and tells them that if they don't feel something for him, that they should just be honest and tell him. Obviously, both girls accept the rose.
