The Bachelor, Ep. 20.7

This week, Ben is taking the girls to his hometown of Warsaw, Indiana. He lives in Denver, but this is where he grew up. He met up with his parents and filled them in on the girls and what's happened so far.

He picks the girls up in a boat...that he was driving by himself.

1-on-1 Date: Lauren B
To say that no one was excited to see Lauren get the first one-on-one date would be an understatement. It didn't help that Ben asked Lauren on the date in front of everyone else.

Ben picks up Lauren in a an old red Chevy and drives her around town. He showed her spots from his childhood. He also shared an embarassing story about his first kiss. They stop at the Baker's Youth Club where Ben used to work. A lot of his friends still work there.

They joined in on the fun and played games with the kids. How cute is Ben with the kids?! Totes adorbs! He was so cute with a little kid who was crying off by himself. Awe! Total swoon moment.

The director challenged the "Half Court King" to a half court shot and if he made it, Ben had to kiss Lauren. Shocker...he nailed it!

Ben had a surprise for the kids and for Lauren, and he brought in a couple of Indiana Pacers and the Pacer mascot.

The talk of the evening was about their last conversation. He said what was said about her affected him because he hasn't seen any of that. He said he didn't want to be blindsided. She said she felt helpless because she couldn't say or do anything to show him that it wasn't true. She said she can be her complete self when she's around him. He said that one thing said about her wouldn't make him change his way of thinking about her. When he said he trusted her she felt like a huge weight was lifted off her shoulders. They seem to be back on the same page. It's a shame that Leah had to try to sabotage what they had.

They ended the evening at the local bar with some of his friends.

She didn't say it to him, but she said that she is in love with him.

1-on-1 Date: JoJo

I've decided that I'm not a fan of JoJo. She comes off as very whiny and it's kind of getting annoying.

Ben takes JoJo to Wrigley field because he's a huge Cubs fan and he went to a lot of games as a kid. Outside the sign had their names on it and a welcome message. They had the whole place to themselves.

They put on matching jerseys and Ben pitched some balls to her. JoJo hit an inside the park home run. Ben got to fulfill a lifelong dream up to bat. He absolutely crushed it and got to run the bases while it was projected on the big screen.

They even got to put up numbers on the score board.

She didn't say it to him, but she said that she isn't ready to give herself to him yet. He can tell that she's holding back. He wants to see more from her before deciding to meet her family in the hometowns.

She tells him that she is trying not to hold back. He can tell she's scared and she pulls away. His fear comes from the idea that he questions what her feelings are for him. She doesn't want him to think that she is too scared to fall in love. She doesn't know why it's so hard for her other than some things in her past that she felt like she loved people more than what they did for her. She does care for him a lot and it scares her. He said he understood her being scared and things made more sense to him now.

Talking through her feelings, she clearly was able to open up and her whole perspective changed. She's not scared any more and it was pretty obvious that Ben has a great way of talking to the girls and making them feel comfortable to share their feelings with him.

Group Date: Becca, Amanda, Caila

Whoever gets a rose on the date is going to hometowns and gets some one-on-one time with Ben.

They meet Ben on a farm and they take some canoes on the pond. Ben gets in a boat with Caila and Becca and Amanda are in a boat. Later they flew a kite in the field. It was clear that Caila was having the most fun on the date, and Becca and Amanda were having trouble enjoying themselves because they really wanted time alone with Ben.

Amanda said she is still surprised that he would be interested in someone like her because of her past and her kids and it makes things more complicated. He said that the things he's been through make it easy to see why she's so great.

Becca said she's been really stressed the last 2 group dates. She feels like the other girls are getting one-on-ones and date roses. She is frustrated and doesn't know what it will take for her to get recognized like that. She said she likes him so much that it freaks her out. It scares her because she wants to feel that back from him. She whispered to him that she didn't want to be blindsided.

Caila is the only one we see kiss Ben on this date. She said she felt weird this week and she wondered why. She said she loves that he has a great community and family and roots. She said she doesn't really have deep roots anywhere. All she has is her parents and that's all she's needed. She's moved around a lot. He asked her if she could see herself settling down and she said she was kind of raised to be adaptable and change. She used the analogy that she was like moss looking to grow on the right tree.

Ben gives the date rose to Amanda. He chose her because he wanted her to be confident and know that he was excited to meet her family. And without any goodbye to the other 2, he just said that he and Amanda had a date to continue and just left them in the barn. Becca took it really hard because she has really put herself out there and isn't getting anything back from him. She doesn't know where they go from here.

Ben takes Amanda to McDonald's. Ben said he's always wanted to go behind the counter and asked if they could. They took calls on the the drive-thru and filled people's orders. Such a random thing.

Ben had one last surprise and it was a visit to a carnival filled with everyone in his hometown who came out to see them. It was kind of hiarious to see how scared he got on the rides.

1-on-1 Date: Emily
Ben takes Emily to meet his parents. They went to the house he grew up in. She was so nervous and she loved the ducks! Her immaturity is really showing. She talks a lot when she's nervous. She said over and over again how young she is and that she has a lot of things she wants to do. And she just kept talking. Her mom couldn't get a word in edgewise. His mom thinks he has a lot to think about because she is probably too young for him. I agree. After talking to his mom and hearing her concerns he knows that he had the same concerns. He thinks that maybe that validates what he's been feeling.

Emily had a great time and she is on Cloud 9. So, you know what that means, don't you?

Ben decided that it's not fair to keep her around if he didn't see a future. He knows what he's looking for. He's amazed by the person that she is but he doesn't see her being his wife. It was so hard for him to tell her that because she has been incredible to him and he doesn't want to say goodbye. But he doesn't see a next step for them and he knows that saying goodbye is what's best. He said he hoped that their relationship was good for her because it was good for him.

Meanwhile, all the girls are inside watching the whole thing unfold and they were trying to figure out if she was happy or sad and wondered why they were back fom the dae so soon.

Emily went inside and was really emotional. It hurt her a lot and she was shocked. The rejection is what hurt the most and she doesn't understand why it couldn't have been her.

Rose Ceremony
Ben told Chris that he wasn't sure what he wanted to do. Chris asked if he honestly saw the potential for each of the remaining 5 becoming his wife. After thinking about it, he realized that there was one girl who hadn't gotten to the same place that the others have.

Get Roses (4): Amanda, Caila, JoJo, Lauren B

Eliminated: Becca, Emily (on the 1-on-1)

As he walked Becca out, he wanted to explain. She was clearly upset. She wanted to know why he put her through that because she asked him not to blindside her like that. He told her he hadn't made his mind up until right before. When he thought about bringing her family into it, he realized he couldn't do that. She said it was better to know now if he was having doubts.

I'm kind of sad to see Becca go because I thought they would be so compatible. She also seems like she is so down o earth and has good values. She wasn't getting the same validation that the other girls were and there had to be a reason. And her not getting that validation brought out a side that I didn't really like in her. She started to become super needy and super jealous. I know the situation has to be incredibly hard and I can't really say I know what I would do in that situation, but obviously some girls handle it better than others.
