The Bachelor, Ep. 20.6

Last week, we had the dreaded "to be continued". Olivia had just made the really awkward and offensice "Teen Mom" comment to Amanda. And Ben had just pre-empted the Rose Ceremony by asking Olivia to go talk, re: all the shady stuff he just heard about her from the other girls.

He tells Olivia that the women are saying that she is not connecting with them like everyone else. She said she had a target on her back because of getting the first impression rose and the group date roses. She felt like the girls hated her and so she withdrew to not throw it in their faces. And then they complain that she's not being social, so she feels like she can't win. She said she's different from everyone there because she likes to read in her room and talk about smart things, while everyone else wants to do each other's nails and hairs. She said she smiles and tries to be nice, but she knows that she can come off as intimidating because she is confident and can be aggressive to get time with him. She said that when he asked how things were in the house that she said they're fine because she can handle herself. I don't quite think that's what he meant, but whatever. So, she actually did come off as pretty normal in that conversation and she had some pretty good answers, but we've seen the other side of her as well. Which side is the real side? The girls, of course, are not happy to see Ben come back with her and she still has a rose. They try to talk to her, but she doesn't want to talk about it. Emily doesn't think that her tears are real.

Rose Ceremony:

Get Roses (9): Amanda, Becca, Caila, Emily, JoJo, Lauren B, Lauren H, Leah, Olivia
Eliminated (2): Jen, Jubilee (on the group date)

Emily was really sweating it out being the last one called. She was worried about what she had said to Ben. He kept Olivia and she couldn't understand why, so she was afraid she was going home. Instead it was Jen...whom no one could have pointed out in a line-up. Her and Leah..who are these girls?

New week, and they are now off to the Bahamas!

1-on-1 Date: Caila - deep sea fishing

Another 1-on-1 for Caila. And if you're keeping count, that's 2 for her and 0 for Oliva, Miss First Impression Rose. Do you think she's OK with that? Nope, and neither is anyone else who hasn't had a 1-on-1 yet. Some of the girls were actually really upset. Leah was so upset that she was almost in tears when Ben showed up to just chat with them before he took Caila on their date. After they left, Leah was a mess. She was bawling her eyes out and didn't know why she was still there. She said it felt like a slap in the face and she felt like a fool for putting herself through this. She said the other girls are telling her if she doesn't get a 1-on-1 this week that she was sure to go home. She said the universe brought them together here, because she actually lives 10 minutes from him and could have met him at a bar, but instead she was brought here.

Ben said he had some unfinished business with Caila and needed more time with her because their first 1-on-1 date was spent with Kevin Hart and Ice Cube and they didn't really get to bond.

We literally didn't see any of their deep sea fishing or conversations. The voice-over was all about Leah and her meltdown, while they were catching fish.

At dinner, Ben wanted to find out if he is going to be able to get deeper with her. He noticed that she smiles all the time and wants to know how she would handle her partner struggling and having a hard time. She said she's not sure if she would be 100% ready to cry on his shoulder and be vulnerable. She said she knows she should feel more vulnerable, but she's not there. She said she feels like she loves him, but she doesn't know why she can't share other than she's just not ready. Her greatest fear is not being able to totally fall in love with someone. His greatest fear is being unlovable, but her greatest fear is breaking his heart. Whoa...where in the world is this going and where did it come from?! Talk about 2 contradicting statements there. Ben thinks he is going to be saying goodbye to her and it's not going to be his decision.

She said she's sorry for being confusing. She said she knows she's falling in love because she feels understood, and that's what she wants in life. She feels like she understands him and she wants him in her life. She said this is real happiness. He feels like now he thinks he is seeing a more authentic side to her and it's actually attractive that she is a little bit confusing because it means that she's not just smiley and happy all the time.

He said in one of the weirdest ways possible, this was one of the best dates that he ever had, and he feels like they just started in a real relationship.

Group Date: Lauren B, Leah, Amanda, Becca, JoJo, Lauren H

Leah questioned whether she should even go on the date or not because she feels overshadowed. She decided to go because she wanted to see him and maybe get some questions answered.

They take a boat ride, and the next thing you know, there's cute piggies in the water! Who knew pigs could swim? They looked like they were having so much fun in the water! Ben tells them that they were going to swim with the pigs and feeding them hotdogs. Oh my goodness, that is just too cute! Those pigs were hungry and were chasing them down and squealing at them. Poor Becca, one of them jumped on her. Next, JoJo was totally being attacked in the water! It was kind of funny because some of them were having a blast and holding the pigs, while the rest of the girls were running screaming from them.

The girls felt like it was really awkward when Ben took Lauren B to spend time with her. Later he was by himself in the water, and JoJo walked by and he called out to her and she basically ignored him. He called out to Becca and she just kind of waved at him. They keep saying it's weird fighting or time with him on group dates, yet, he's all alone in the water and no one wants to go talk to him. He was getting a very weird vibe from them, and rightly so...I have no idea what their problem was!

He was hoping for a relaxing date, but it turned out to be kind of stressful and uncomfortable.

Leah was trying to decide if she should go talk to him and let him know that she was expecting a 1-on-1 date. She broke down crying because she felt like he didn't want to get to know her because he gave someone else a 1-on-1 whose already gotten one. He told her that there is lots of time during group dates that they could talk and all she had to do was say she wanted to talk to him and they would make it work. She didn't feel like they could because there would always be someone coming and interrupting them. He asked her to please make the most of the day. She said she would, but walked away saying the conversation didn't answer anything for her and if anything, made things worse. She thinks he's an idiot for keeping her there that long and they are running out of time for him to truly get to know her.

The evening portion of the date comes, and Ben hopes to make it a beneficial night for everyone. He first pulls Becca aside. He tells her that he felt like on the date that she was being standoffish to him. She said she just kind of shut down because of seeing the connection that he has with Lauren B. She said she would never bring that up with him, but since he asked, that was kind of what caused her to pull away. It got into her head, but it's because she really, really likes him. She said he's not doing anything wrong. He was sorry for making her feel bad and he realized that he needs to make a better effort of being more discrete when he talks to women individually, and do a better job of communicating his feelings honestly with each one of them.

He told Amanda that he likes her and that she shouldn't doubt that, even though it's hard. She said he makes her feel good and she always leaves their conversations feeling good.

Leah's turn. He told her to be 100% completely open and honest with how she's feeling. She said he's a smart guy and he'll eventually figure it out, but there are some women in the house that she doesn't think are being real with him. She doesn't want to tell him who to be with, but some people are different in the house than they are with him. She didn't want to say any names, but it is the person he has the strongest connection with (Olivia). Wait, nope! She says Lauren B! Whoa...where did THAT come from?! Literally no one has brought up her name inside the house other than to say that Ben has a really good connection with her. No mentions of her being mean, two-faced, or fake. She said it hurts her to see Lauren B get so much time with him knowing the type of person she is around the girls. And with that, they get interrupted by Lauren B who says "it's storming...is this a good time?"

So, Ben is now completely thrown for a loop. He immediately addresses his concern with Lauren. She looks as shocked as I do right now at these allegations. She said she doesn't know how to respond because she has been genuine to everyone. He said it's in his head now and he's not sure what to do with it. He said she doesn't have to prove anything to him, he just wanted her to know so she could give input to what he had heard. He said he cares about her a lot. After they were done talking, she broke down in front of the girls (minus Leah, who was on her way to enter the room). She told them what someone said and she said she didn't even know how to respond because she doesn't know why someone would say that. Leah asks what happened, and when Lauren said, Leah fake-looked shocked and then specifically said "well, I didn't say anything". Becca said it was a big deal for someone to bring up her name and asked her again if it was her. Leah said she's not that type of person. So now who's not been the same in front of Ben as she is with the girls?! Lauren continued to sob, not knowing where she stands with Ben now.

The group date rose goes to Amanda - someone who he's appreciated for a long time now and is continuing to be the sweet person that they all know.

Back at the house, Emily is shocked to hear what happened to Lauren. They talk about who it could have been, and Leah is the only one they think it could have been.

Since Leah didn't get a rose to secure her place, she knows she has to take more drastic measures. She wants to go to Ben's room and talk to him about Lauren B - again! She wants to make sure that he believes wha she is telling him. Wow, that's pretty ruthless, for someone who wasn't sure why she was even there. This doesn't seem the least bit desperate. She wants to make sure he doesn't end up with Lauren B.

She starts off by saying that she doesn't want to talk bad about Lauren B (lie). She said they see a lot more about what goes on in the house than he does and some people could handle things better. She said that she doesn't seem to care about him as much as other people do. She said how she comes across is not genuine and often comes off as catty (lies). She said she's not there to sabotage what he has with anybody (lie). Ben was hoping that Leah would make the most of their time together, but she is doing nothing but talking about Lauren B. That's when he realizes that there is a disconnect between the 2 of them. He said he's thinking about their conversation and he's trying to figure out why they're missing something. He said something just doesn't feel right. He asks her if it feels right with her. She said "yeah" (lie). He said on the first night, he couldn't imagine saying goodbye to her, but he doesn't want to put her through this because it's hard, and it's probably best if they just say goodbye. She stood out to him on the first night, but their sparks have been few and far between since then. She was upset (obviously) and says she would have never said anything to him if she knew he was going to say goodbye to her right then. She said "I literally did not see that coming". Really? She didn't know why she was there and why she wasn't getting dates. She said she does regret how she handled the situation, but she was upset about not getting the 1-on-1. So now, Ben is left to wonder if what she was saying about Lauren B has any truth to it. It's making him doubt if the process is going to work.

2-on-1 Date: Olivia and Emily - boat to a private island
Clearly this was planned based on the events at the last Rose Ceremony. The only pairing that would have been more awkward would have been Olivia and Amanda. When the names were called for the group date and they figured out who was going on the 2-on-1, Olivia was not happy to be going with Emily. She said "she is just so young". Um...hate to break it to you Olivia, but you and Emily are exactly the same age - 23. She might be more immature, but you're the same age. She is sure that she has this date in the bag, and she's going to treat it like a 1-on-1. You know what that means, right?

The day arrives, and Olivia is giddy. This is the closest she's gotten to a 1-on-1 with the person she "knows" she is going to marry. She said their love story has been beautiful so far. She is looking forward to uninterrupted time. Oh, this is going to be epic. Ben and Chris did say that the drama increases as we go, so this should be pretty good!

As George Costanza would say, "the sea was angry that day, my friends". The waves are crashing, it looks like it could storm any minute. They aren't on the beach for more than a minute, when there's some awkward silence, so Ben asks to talk to Olivia.

Olivia said last week was scary. No one wants to try to get to know her and be friends. I've never heard someone talk about themselves so much the way she does. "I'm strong. I'm in tune with my body." blah blah blah... She said she made a realization and that was that she was in love with him. She is over the moon happy and in such a happy place. Oh man, this is really not going to end well, because she has absolutely no idea what's about to happen. I think we might see some Ashley I tears.

Emily says she wants to be there and she wants to experience life with him. She had a cute moment where here hair was just totally all over her face. I can totally relate to that. Ben talked about how she's grown and her mom said she's got a lot of love to give. Wow...not a long conversation. Ben's mind must really be made up.

Olivia is still sure she's getting the rose because Ben has given her more validation than anyone. Ben grabs the rose and asks to speak to her. She thinks she knows what's coming. Emily can't believe that Olivia is getting the rose...but we all know better, don't we?

Guaranteed, the producers made Ben take the rose with him for dramatic effect, because he would not be that cruel to Emily or Olivia by "faking" her out like that.

"You can't get better than what we just had." She said she kind of felt bad for Emily because she was just sitting there, but now they can just move forward.

Ben said she spoke her heart and he knew from the first night she was different and special. He said he appreciated that she opened up and was so honest. He said he just can't reciprocate those feelings. He wanted to be honest with her because she was so honest with her feelings. He hugged her and turned around with the rose. Emily was shocked. Olivia was just stunned as she stared at him hugging Emily. To say that she was a little blindside would be a humungous understatement. What a comlete 180 for her. She was on top of the moon and now she's completely devastated.

Ben and Emily take off in the boat, and Olivia is just left there sobbing, all alone on the secluded beach.

Back at the house, the girls see Olivia's bags being picked up.

Cocktail Party:
Ben just doesn't have it in him, so he cancels the cocktail party. Of course, as always, there is someone who really needs one last chance to talk before the Rose Ceremony. This time, that person is Lauren B. We all know that she shouldn't be worried, but given their last conversation, it is very understandable why she is worried.

Rose Ceremony:

Get Roses (6): Amanda, Becca, Caila, Emily, JoJo, Lauren B
Eliminated (3): Lauren H, Leah (earlier), Olivia (on the 2-on-1

Another producer stunt...leave both Lauren B and Lauren H as the last 2 standing...so no matter which Lauren he's gonna say, you think it's going to be you.
