Limo Entrances and First Impressions
The guys are immediately hit with their first decision of the night: who do they walk over to first, Kaitlyn or Britt? For the sake of easiness for me to recap the entrances that we see, I'm listing the guys in alphabetical order and not in the order that they come out of the limos. Because, who are we kidding? We know that the order they show us is not the order they came out, and does that really matter anyway? This will help us match them up with their bios in my previous post, since we are just getting to know them.
So, as Chris is talking to the girls and prepping them...how many times did Kaitlyn roll her eyes at something that Britt said? Wow, she couldn't have been more obvious that she was annoyed that Britt was there and that she had to compete against her.
Kaitlyn seemed WAY more nervous than Britt did, especially when a lot of the guys seemed to be going to Britt first and having more of a connection with her. She definitely seemed slightly more annoyed when it wasn't "her turn".
Part way through the entrances, Kaitlyn excuses herself and sneaks into the house, just to tell the guys "hi" and that they were all really handsome and killing it. Britt said she was cheating.
Ben H
- went to Kaitlyn first but connected to Britt with their shared connection of sponsoring a child
- first impressions: sad story - lost his mom at 14
- wanted either Britt or Kaitlyn to be Bachelorette
- went to Britt first
- wanted Britt to be Bachelorette
- went to Britt first; he told her she was beautiful on the outside and the inside
- not sure who he went to first, but he had on a lot of tennis gear for some reason, something about a love match
- arrived in a cupcake and went to Kaitlyn first; he said he normally tells his patients to avoid sugar and sweets, but he wanted to do something sweet for them
- went to Britt first
- went to Kaitlyn first, and asked if the offer to plow her field was still on the table, even though he's not a farmer
- went to Kaitlyn first; told Britt that her eyes and smile stands out
- went to Kaitlyn first and did some crazy dance moves
- went to Kaitlyn first
- first impressions: sad story -- bad car accident that left him in a coma and a wheelchair for some time
- wanted Kaityln to be Bachelorette
- went to Kaitlyn first
- first impressions: very lame "Love Man" superhero alter-ego, and he talks to his dog...a lot; he looks a little like a less handsome Josh Hartnett
- wanted Kaitlyn to be Bachelorette
- went to Britt first, but talked to both of them kind of at the same time as he pulled out his "Love Man" t-shirt
- went to Kaitlyn first and they bonded over hockey -- he pulled out a puck and said he would like to "puck" her and she said you "pucked me", and told Britt he wished he had 2 pucks to puck her too
- first impressions: made a better impression than his weird bio pic and definitely has a strong southern drawl, but seems like a really nice guy
- wanted Kaitlyn to be Bachelorette
- went to Kaitlyn first and brought them some moonshine
- wanted Britt to be Bachelorette
- went to Britt first and chatted her up quite a bit, while Kaitlyn rolled her eyes; he barely said anything to Kaitlyn
- first impressions: so many tattoos, and no surprise he can't find that special someone, since he is leaving nothing to the imagination with his exotic dancing
- went to Britt first with some of his x-rated moves, and then pulled off his tie and wrapped it around Kaitlyn's neck, and proceeded to undo his suit and he rubbed her hands all over his chest
- first impressions: this season's Chris Soules -- he's a farmer and comes from a small town with no girls
- wanted Kaitlyn to be Bachelorette
- went to Kaitlyn first
- went to Kaitlyn first and brought her balloons, and even sucked some of the helium
- went to Britt first
- went to Britt first, and called her a Disney princess
- went to Kaitlyn first; came out and said "Honeys, I'm home!"
- first impressions: THE GUY everyone will be talking about because of how drunk he was. He was saying he was horny, he said he would like to date both of them and not call them back.
- offered to do a group hug instead of choosing, but then picked Britt up and hugged her and seemed to connect with her...until he went to Kaitlyn and told her that she was the reason he was there and he thinks everything happens for a reason...which totally bummed Britt who was totally into him
- arrived in a hot tub car...and is all wet...went to both of them together; he was interrupted by drunk Ryan M who went outside and said the car was lame and that he was lame
- went to Britt first, and he brought her a tissue (since she did a lot of crying last season) and he hoped she wouldn't need them this season
- first impressions: weird, weird, weird...in his own world...with his plants (which he talked to AND kissed, and said "I'll see you soon"); with a stocking hat on, he looks a lot like Tom Brady; oh yeah, and did you notice his black eye? He did that walking his dog.
- wanted Katilyn to be Bachelorette, but changed his mind after meeting Britt
- went to Britt first, but used the EXACT same line with Kaitlyn...like word for word
In the House
Of course the talk amongst the guys is who they are more drawn to and who they would like to see become the Bachelorette.
Kaitlyn breaks the ice with a joke: "Knock knock...who's there...2 bachelorettes...that's the joke". Britt didn't find it too funny and said that's just one of the ways they are different.
Ian is the first to make a move, and he steals Kaitlyn, and Justin goes for Britt. So, I'm just going to be honest...there's 25 guys and 2 Bachelorettes, and it would take FOREVER to try to keep up with every single conversation, so I'm not even going to try.
Some hi-lights:
- Shawn B thinks he believes in love at first sight when he saw Kaitlyn
- Clint didn't know who was going to be on the show, so in his picture he drew, he drew Chris Harrison holding a rose...on top of a triceratops...um..yeah
- Kaitlyn really remembered Joe and his moonshine
- Kaitlyn loved that Ben H asked her about her tattoos. She said Chris never asked her about them once last season. She said that doves are the only birds who remember how to fly home, and home and family are really important to her.
- JJ was blown away by Britt
- Back to Ryan McDill..."is this the gay Bachelor?" "Maybe I'll go jump in the pool, this party is dead anyways." Shawn E confronted him about ruining his entrance. Ryan kept saying "who are you?" and "you do suck". He didn't think he did anything wrong, other than being awesome.
- JJ came out to rescue Britt fro Ryan. He tried to tell him that the bartender had another drink for him. Jonathan also tried to rescue her.
- Later Ryan came up and kept touching Kaitlyn's butt...which she did not care for at all. She said he really crossed the line. Ben Z confronted him about the ass grab, and Ryan didn't think that was cool of him to come talk to him about, and he didn't ever want to talk to him again. Next thing you know, the clothes are off, and Ryan's got nothing but his speedo on, an he's in the pool, saying he's "all horned up".
- At one point, Ryan M stumbled, and I mean stumbled his way into the voting room. He knocked over a bunch of stuff...while in a speedo, mind you...and knocked Kaitlyn's picture off the wall. He threw a rose across the room. After he came out, JJ asked him why his shirt was off, and his reply was (and I kid you not): "Why am I not raping you right now?" Eventually, a big security guard came in and told Ryan that Chris Harrison wanted to talk to him. He said "Chris Hanson?" ...like the "To Catch a Predator" guy....that was his go-to? Tells you what kind of a guy he is. Chris told him that he was clearly not here for the right reasons and it would be best if he went home. And off in the limo he goes, much to the delight of the entire house.
- Brit called out Tanner for bringing her the tissue box, and even though she laughed about it, she kind of thought there was a little bit of dig on her. He then said it was really awkward.
- Shawn B gives Kaitlyn butterflies. She was blown away that his nephew drew her a picture. They bonded over both having a niece and a nephew. She said this is as close as she's come to love at first sight.
- Brady said Britt is a "solid billion" on a scale of 1 to 10. They really bonded quickly, and she loved that faith was really important to him. And this is why they are still together right now (oops...spoiler alert!)
- Shawn E totally shocks Britt by telling her that he is a sex coach, and he totally goes into WAY more detail than was necessary at any time, let alone in a first meeting.
Voting
Chris Harrison barely said that the voting room was open and when they were ready they should go in and place a rose in the ballot box of the girl of their choice, and Tony was already up out of his seat. He knew without a doubt that he wanted it to be Britt. And when her ballot box was pulsating with so much energy, that just solidified his choice (yeah, the guy's not all there).

Chris (like Jeff Probst), goes to tally the votes. Not sure why he needed the big security guard there to help him lift the lids off of the ballot boxes. Did he need a witness to say he didn't fix the votes?

And now, for Part 2!
Chris tells Britt the bad news...the guys picked Kaitlyn to be the Bachelorette. She was in shock. She said she met a lot of amazing guys and she thought it felt right. She held it together until she got in the limo. She said she was grateful for the experience, but part of her wishes she hadn't met the guys because it makes it that much harder.
Next it was Kaitlyn's turn to hear the news. I was surprised that one of the first things Kaitlyn asked was if Britt was OK. I didn't think she cared much for her, so that was kind of surprising. It was hilarious when Chris told her to collect her thoughts because there was still the Rose Ceremony to get to. She was like...oh crap, I still have to do that?! LOL
Kaitlyn was presented to the guys, and there was a lot of hooting and hollering. Pretty much everyone was excited...but knowing what we know about Brady, you could definitely see the disappointment on his face.
1-on1s with the Guys
Ian wanted the first 1-on-1 because he thought he was the most excited.
Joshua presents Kaitlyn with his welded rose that he made for her. He was going to give it right away out of the limo, but the 2 bachelorettes threw him off. She was very impressed.
Tony was super bummed. He went outside and sat by himself and sulked. He said he was pretty much just ready to go home.
Jared also was bummed. He wanted to tell Kaitlyn right away and told her that he had voted for Britt. He said he still wants to be there. She was happy that he told her.
Brady wasn't sure what he wanted to do because he absolutely came there to meet Britt.
JJ had a connection with Britt, but he owes it to himself to talk to Kaitlyn to see if there is anything there. He originally came there to see Kaitlyn, but didn't get to talk to her much. Now talking to her again, it reaffirmed all of his original thoughts about her. She thought he topped the charts for her.
Chris just made her giggle like crazy, and she made him totally nervous. He said he had to restrain himself earlier because there were people around. This time, he didn't care, and he planted one on her! And it wasn't just a peck either, it was a full-on make-out session. Things just got real.
And the First Impression Rose went to Shawn B. He said he was crushing on her pretty hard. She told him that she was really attracted to him. She said kissing him was like having your first kiss in elementary school because of all the nerves and butterflies. He said he hasn't been this happy in a long time. Knowing what happens in the end, I already feel sad for him because he seems really into her, and this is SO EARLY to be having feelings like what he's having.
Rose Ceremony
The consensus amongst the guys was that anyone who voted for Britt should go home before the ones who voted for Kaitlyn.
