The Bachelorette, Ep. 9.5

The guys and Desiree are in Munich, Germany. Drama, drama, drama...can't wait to watch it all go down...

One-on-One Date: Chris
Not much is happening on their date, but they seem to be having fun doing things in the city. Chris says he doesn't think that anything could go wrong on the date...

Meanwhile, back at the house...Bryden is still struggling. He thinks something is missing and things just aren't progressing the way he thinks they should. I'm wondering why he bothered to go all the way to Germany. He was feeling this way before the last rose ceremony, and had even contemplated not accepting the rose. So now, he can't wait any longer, he is going to go find Des on her date with Chris and tell her he is leaving. He thinks she will appreciate him doing it sooner rather than later. I think, he's now ruining her date with Chris. She isn't thinking about Bryden right now...it could have waited until after their date was over.

They are dancing and having fun in the street, and then there's Bryden. They have a brief conversation and she says goodbye to him. She did have fair warning since he talked to her about his feelings at the last rose ceremony. She was a little upset, but she didn't want to let what happened ruin her time with Chris. She said she didn't really need to talk about it...yet...she kept talking about it, quite a lot.

And then at dinner, Chris brings it up. OK, let it go already! So, moving on...Chris wrote Des a poem on the plane ride to Germany. She definitely liked it, and he had her in tears. And, he got the rose.

After the dinner, guess what, the date isn't over...shocker! What Bachelor/Bachelorette date wouldn't be complete without a private concert by a semi-famous singer/songwriter. Tonight's "special' performance was by Matt White.

Group Date: Juan Pablo, James, Kasey, Zak, Brooks, Drew, Mikey

This group date takes place up in the snowy mountains. It's time for some fun in the snow. Who knows, Sean and Catherine fell in love on their cold/snow date, so maybe today will be magic for Des too.

Oh, and then there's yodeling! The best part was Juan Pablo trying to say "yodeler". Some of the guys got to practice along with the funny old yodeler guy.

After yodeling, it was time to sled down the mountain. I sure hope Brooks doesn't break another finger. The guys were kind of out of control. Body parts were flying all over the place. Des crashes and then Drew ran her over.

And of course, you know there's going to be a snowball fight. That's just a given.

Next, they go to an ice mansion. It was really cool inside...pun intended.

Brooks gets some alone time, and like most of his alone time with her, it involved making out...bad finger and all. Mikey, on the other hand, suggests that they make snowmen. Miniature snowmen, that is. Seriously, they were only like 6" tall. Zak then interrupts with some impromptu yodeling. That was awesome. During his alone time, he drops a bomb on Des. He said in college, he came to Europe and he decided that he wanted to be a priest! What?!? Really?!? And then, 10 years later, he's back there making another life-changing decision.

Back in the ice mansion, James starts talking to the guys, and they think he's getting too cocky now that he's starting to make a connection with Des. They think he's a bit 2-faced. With the guys he's vulgar and not friendly, but when he's with Des, he's always the opposite. During his alone time, he makes out with Des, and Brooks, like a weird creeper, starts spying on them.

And the group date rose goes to: Brooks. James is stunned. He says that he is the opposite of Brooks and now he's not sure what Des is looking for. But, he isn't too worried. He doesn't think any of these guys are a threat. The only threat is himself.

2-on-1 Date: Ben and Michael
Of course...2 of the guys who really don't like each other...at all. Couldn't make for a better date, don't you think? Michael is making his mission on this date to "expose Ben for the fraud he is", and get Des to see what the rest of them see in him. As a prosecutor, he plans to find Ben guilty of fraud and impersonation of a southern gentleman.

Ben thinks that this is a date with just him and Des and Michael is just a spectator. Before they even leave for the date, Michael's face is beat red. He looks like he already wants to punch Ben.

The date starts and it could not be more awkward. Each of them go back and forth trying to outdo each other.

Des tells the guys that she didn't get to do the Polar Bear Plunge at Lake Louise on Ben's season, so she thinks they should do it. They get their swimsuits on, and she fakes them out. Really, they are going to get in this hot tub boat thing. It's quite clear that in every conversation they have, it doesn't matter who's talking, the other looks furious. They don't agree on anything. I think either of them would have liked to pull Des aside and get away from the other, but in their hot tub in the middle of the lake, there is no where to get away.

Michael starts asking Ben about his son and basically says he's neglecting him by not being there with him. Des started getting really uncomfortable. And again, they are stuck in the middle of a lake...no one is going anywhere...you're stuck! Either they stick it out, or someone is ending up in the lake.

They finally get off the water, and start dinner, and Michael wastes no time in throwing Ben under the bus...with Ben sitting right at the table. I really think he wanted Ben to blow up and finally lose it in front of Des.

Des tries to change the subject and asks what kind of traditions they would like to start with their family. Ben said he would like Sunday to be family day and that they would all go to church as a family. Immediately, Michael chimes in "What about Easter? You didn't go to church on Easter, Ben." Really Michael? Was that necessary? Ben was trying super hard not to lose it and remain calm. I hope that Michael knows that as bad as he thinks Ben is, and might be, he is making himself look worse right now by "poking the bear". Ben said it was his first Easter away from his son and it was hard. Then he excused himself from the table to go let off some steam. Des scolded Michael for bringing up what he did and the way he did it. Des said that even though he (Michael) goes to church doesn't mean he's close to God. Personally, I think she should absolutely send both of them home. Neither of them are worth it. Neither of them are showing any kind of desirable qualities.

Finally, Des goes to check on Ben. She still isn't sure why the guys have a problem with him because he's always so sweet with her. While she talks to Michael alone, she specifically asks him what it is about Ben that they guys have a problem with. He put it all out there because he wanted her to be aware of what was going on.

And the rose goes to: Michael! Ben is going home. I've gotta say, if I didn't already know that Ben got the boot on this 2-on-1, I would have been really shocked. I don't really think she fully believed everything that Michael was saying, and I think she was really upset by the way Michael acted. Ben didn't really handle it all that well. He was pretty upset that Michael stayed after the way he attacked him.

Back at the hotel, the guys are anxiously waiting to see which suitcases would be picked up. They rejoice when it is Ben's.

Ben exits in the limo, and we see a bit of his true self. He wants to know where they can go to get drunk and he said he can't wait to be seen in public with someone. Then he did some weird wave to the camera and said "hey, Hollywood". Um...yeah...OK.

More Drama...
Meanwhile, back at the hotel, the rest of the guys are talking about James (for once it isn't about Ben). Drew said that in the limo on the way home from their date the night before, he and Kasey overheard something. He said James isn't worried about losing his job to be there because people will know who he is after being on the show. He also said that he knows a lot of women and they could take Mikey's boat out on the water and have a nice intimate setting. Then he said that he hopes to make it into the top 4 because it would put him in a good position to be the next Bachelor. And they thought Ben was the one they needed to worry about.

Cocktail Party
The guys discuss their strategy before the cocktail party. They decide who is going to say what, about James. James said he hopes to talk to Des first. They ask if he has something specific to say, and he's like "no".

Then, shocker! Des tells Chris that she is 100% sure what she wants to do and she doesn't need any alone time with any of the guys tonight. Oh snap! Now, if the guys were really serious, they would stop Des before she hands out any roses and tell her that they need to talk to her.

Rose Ceremony

Get Roses: Zak, Kasey, Juan Pablo, Drew, James and Brooks, Chris and Michael who all got roses on their dates

Going Home: Mikey and Bryden (who left on his own) and Ben (eliminated on the 2-on-1 date)

Oh no, you gave a clue to who is going to win and it just got a little clearer!!

Yes, you're right! But in all fairness, you did ask for a clue! And I don't know why I thought Brad was still in it for some reason.
