Survivor, Ep. 33.9

I missed it last week, but they subtly renamed the new merged tribe Vinaka - which is a combination of the 3 individual tribes (sort of, I guess).

Vinaka Camp
Jay calls the other side a "cesspool". Things are looking bleak for him and Taylor. He and Taylor have no idea how that happened and they laughed that everyone trusted Adam. Taylor goes to Adam to check in. He wants to be on good terms with him because he could spill the beans, so to speak, about him burying 2 jars of food. I thought the whole food thing was outed at Tribal, but I guess not all of it. Taylor is holding on to his own secret about Adam - his advantage. If Adam tells, Taylor is going to tell. What is this, the third grade? LOL!

Taylor goes off by himself to dig up his food and to savor it all by himself.

Jay is worried about being next on the chopping block. He talks to Hannah and she said that playing with the guys would have made her into a goat. Jay said he was proud of her for taking her game into her own hands. She is happy with herself for actually playing this game that she loves and being good at it. I don't know if I would go that far. I think she's been pretty lucky.

Reward Challenge
Reward: trip to a resort to lounge by a pool and eating cheeseburgers, fries, and cocktails

Challenge: go through an obstacle net, get a key to unlock a box, then drag the box under a net; once through they hack the ropes to open the box to retrieve bolos that they toss to the ladder -- it's basically Hillbilly Golf!

Schoolyard Pick--
Purple: Chris (captain), Bret, Ken, David, Sunday, Taylor
Orange: Hannah (captain), Adam, Will, Zeke, Jay, Jessica

Purple takes an early lead. Orange can't get the key. Then Orange got stuck under the net. Taylor tosses all of them and lands them easily for Purple, while Orange never got the box out from under the net.

Poor Hannah realizes she doesn't know how to pick a team. She was on a high from her blindside vote the night before, and now she failed at picking a good team.

Reward
Taylor said his body has been adapted to eating food because of the food he's hidden, so this allows him to eat and drink more easily than the rest of them - advantage! Bret said he's going to drink as much as he can. What an idiot! NOT a smart move! He definitely had them all laughing, that's for sure.

Sunday is ready to take control of the game in these uncertain times of their fractured Gen-X tribe.

Vinaka Camp

Jay talked to Adam. Adam said he knew he got caught and that he had to make a move. It was either go home or be on the bottom of the Gen-X tribe, so he did what he could. Adam said that Taylor is the reason they are on the bottom and the reason Michelle went home. Jay thinks Adam was being a jerk rubbing it in his face that he's in trouble.

Jay told Will what Adam said, and they agreed he's an ass. Hannah and Zeke were in on the convo and Zeke said he almost voted Adam out just so he didn't have to work with him. Hannah pretty much agreed.

Sunday says that she and Jessica are "friendly" but they aren't close. She thinks she will want her out at some point. Sunday thinks she can use Jay because they formed a bond on Ikabula. Jay said he is with her and he will write down whoever she wants. They agree on writing down Jess.

Immunity Challenge
They all walk in and go "What is this?" and "Oh, no!"

Challenge: stand on a narrow beam while balancing a ball on a wooden bow; they will walk down the beam where it gets more narrow - drop the ball and you're out

Choice: they can opt to sit out of the challenge to eat grilled ham and cheese sandwiches, chips, and beer

Sitting Out: Zeke and Will choose to sit out. Will?! Are you kidding me! His thought was that he KNEW he was never going to win the challenge, so he was going to at least get food out of it. Jeff made it clear that Will knew he couldn't have any beer, just the soft drinks :)

Order Eliminated:

1. Hannah - not even close to being good at this
2. Bret

Final part of the beam...

3. Jessica
4. Sunday
5. David
6. Chris
7. Adam
8. Jay - oh man, he fought hard for that one!

Down to 2, and Taylor is moving and whistling. Ken is all over the place, but out of nowhere...

9. Taylor

WINNER: Ken! Woohoo!

Vinaka Camp
David says that Will is safe because he is less of a threat, so it's between Jay and Taylor. They are going to split votes because there could be an idol. Jay is a schemer and a player, and Taylor is the least trustworthy of the 2. David is confident that one of the two will go.

Sunday tells Bret that she doesn't want to write Jay's name down. She says that she really wants Jess to go. Sunday tells Jay that the majority wants him or Taylor and there isn't anything she can do about it.

Taylor takes Jay to his bunker of food to have one last night together. Jay is not going to tell Taylor that he has an idol. He realizes the threat of using the idol for Taylor because if they split the votes, it could backfire and he could go. He could use it on himself, or he could do nothing and hope to save it for a rainy day.

Taylor tells Jay about Adam's advantage to steal someone's reward. He says if he tells everyone about this, it could put a huge target on his back. Jay tells him he should do it because it would ruin his game. Taylor says he is trying to fight hard like Figgy told him to do. He thinks that the threat of Adam taking away someone's loved ones visit is more threatening than him stealing the food...which everyone already knew.

Tribal Council
Taylor said it sucked to go back to camp being on the wrong side of the blindside. Taylor, Jay, and Will know they are on the wrong side and that they are in the minority.

Chris said they should fight and get in there because there are some cracks.

Taylor says, OK. He tells them that he filled 2 jars full of food and ADAM helped him do it! Whoa! Adam said, no, he did not help and he did not eat any of the food. Adam said he watched him, but he didn't eat it and he only kept his secret. Taylor asked why would he be so upset. Then, Taylor said that Adam has an advantage that no one else knows about. Adam was forced to say what his advantage was. Taylor rubbed it in and said that he could steal their loved ones visit. Adam said it is an advantage that doesn't affect the game, but Taylor pointed to his heart and said it does affect the game.

Everyone is stunned by the outing of all these secrets. Taylor wasn't sorry for what he did with the food, because he did it to get himself further in the game. Jess said they aren't just going to forgive Taylor because he came clean with what he did. Jay said he has dreams and goals and isn't a dumb surfer - "no offense dude", and he wasn't OK with what Taylor did.

Adam yells back at Jay because Jay did eat the food, and he didn't. Jay said that Taylor said that Adam did eat some of the food, and he is agreeing that he did eat some of the food earlier that day with Taylor.

Bret said there are several errors and they need to decide who is more culpable.

I have no idea what is going to happen!

Wow, I was really worried that Jay was going to go home with that idol in his pocket. That was way too close.

Preview for next week...Will tells Zeke that Jay has an idol?!?! What?! That, of course, spreads like wildfire from one person to the next all through the tribe. Oh boy...no secrets this season, everyone has loose lips and ships are a sinkin'.
