Survivor, Ep. 33.8

Ikabula Camp
The tribe is reeling from the epic blindside and departure of Michaela. Jay is feeling pretty proud of himself for pulling off this epic move. He knew he had to do it pre-merge because she's a closer and she would have won individual immunity. Hannah said they can trust her and she would have voted with them. Jay said they didn't want her to have to do that. She realizes that she is on the bottom of the alliance and she is ready for revenge.

A boat pulls up in the morning and they get word that they need to pack their belongings because they are merging!

MERGE!
Ikabula and Takali are shipped off to the Vanua camp. Everyone is so happy to be back with their original alliance members. For Michelle and Bret, they both think that this gives them new life in the game.

Jay thinks that he is the kingpin on the tribe, and no one knows. He has an idol, and he's got Will, Michelle and Bret on his side.

Chris can't tell if the merge is a good thing for him or not. He thinks that he, Dave, and Zeke are meshing really well, but he also had an alliance with Bret and Sunday.

Zeke can't wait to get back with Adam and Hannah to find out what they have found out from their tribes. This is his nerd voting block. Hannah told him about Jay's betrayal of Michaela, and that makes him really nervous. He said that Jay has this charm and so many people are being drawn to him and are falling under his spell. He sees a broliance forming between Jay, Will, and some others and that worries him.

Adam decides to go look for an idol during the big feast. He's a fan, so he knows there is usually a clue or something. He knows the camp well. He finds a note hidden in the treemail. This is an advantage to steal a reward from someone after it's been won by someone else. Wow! A new power that no one has received before. Too bad it's not another idol, but still pretty cool.

Taylor wakes up in the middle of the night and takes some mason jars and stuffs them full of food from the feast. He decides he will keep it for himself and eat as much of it as he can. He's clanging the jars all over and Bret hears him. He decided not to say something. Adam sees him also and he decides to confide in Taylor about his reward to try to gain him back as an ally. He tells him that Jay is building an army. He said that Jay is closer to Will than he ever was to him. Adam thinks maybe they should go after Will so that Jay is forced to go back to Taylor as his #1. Taylor secretly doesn't want to work with Adam because of what he did to Figgy. He lets him think that he is interested in his plan. Adam then confides in him about the reward advantage that he found. He said he is telling him about it because he is serious about working with him. Taylor is stoked because he didn't have to do anything to get Adam to just tell him everything and then he can just come right back and blindside him.

In the morning, Ken said he woke up to find a lot of the food missing.

Chris thinks they have underestimated the Millennials and their bond. He thinks if all the Gen-X band together, and try to get Taylor with them, they would have the numbers.

Jay tells Taylor that he thinks that Gen-Xers will target them first. Taylor asked him how tight-lipped he can be. Jay said "very". Taylor tells him that Adam wants to target Will. Jay is shocked. He didn't understand that move. Taylor said he is doing that because he thinks Will is his #2 guy. Meanwhile, Zeke totally overhears them talking about targeting Adam. This isn't good because Adam and Zeke are in a tight alliance. Taylor tells Will that Adam is targeting him. Will realizes he really needs to win immunity,

Immunity Challenge

First individual immunity challenge!

Challenge: balance on a narrow perch with both hands tethered to a bucket above them - when their arms drop, they are out. This is a classic challenge, but Jeff said that one arm wasn't tough enough, so they now made it 2 arms.

Order of elimination:
1. Sunday
2. Chris
3. Bret

10 minutes...
4. Jay
5. Zeke
6. Ken
7. Hannah (she hilariously volunteered to tell Jeff where she was feeling it, which was her arms, her back, her face...everywhere)

20 minutes...
8. Michelle
9. Taylor
10. David
11. Adam

Final 2, 1 hour... Will and Jessica sharing stories and talking about how good they still feel

1 hour, 30 minutes...what the heck?!
12. Jessica
13. Will wins immunity!

Wow, Jessica was flinching in he legs. Will shuffled his hands and his bucket nearly dumped...I don't know how it didn't. Next second, Jessica's falls. He said he knew he needed it and he just pushed himself. That was super impressive for both of them. Jessica had an incredible poker face because she really kept calm and didn't show much distress at all.

Pre-Tribal
Will is certain that Adam has to go because he's gunning after him and his alliance. Jay, Michelle, and Hannah are all in agreement. Sort of. Michelle isn't sure that going after a Millennial this early is a huge mistake. She thinks it is a personal move rather than a strategic move.

Zeke told Adam that Taylor told Will about being a target. Adam sensed it because of how Will reacted at the challenge and saying he needed to win it. Zeke thinks they can get the votes to get out Taylor instead of Will. Adam is willing to work with anyone if it will keep him in the game. They go to talk to Ken and David. David is worried that Adam has an idol and he could play it for himself or for Taylor. David said Michelle is the safest person to go after because there's no way she has an idol, and they absolutely won't see it coming. Ken thinks they still need to go after Taylor instead.

Taylor talked to Adam about a leak. Taylor has his boys back and he's ready for revenge to avenge what happened to Figgy.

Hannah tells Zeke that Adam needs to go at some point because he's not trustworthy. Zeke is wondering if they should just vote him out now.

Adam doesn't know if he should play his idol or not. He could play it and know that he is safe, but he worries that he might have the numbers to stay, and then he would look like a chump.

Tribal Council
The missing food comes up. David said Millennials must eat more than Gen-X. Bret blames Taylor, and Taylor said it was him, but he wasn't really keeping it a secret. Jeff asked who was hungry, and they pretty much all said they were. Chris called him out for his selfish move and it's not a good gameplay. Jeff calls what he did a medical emergency, and Taylor said "exactly". Zeke said they all have a medical emergency. Jeff called Taylor out for smiling and being so chill that he must not think that he is on the chopping block. Taylor said worrying does nothing and it doesn't do anything to change what's going to happen. Adam said he's terrified. He doesn't want to be the first one voted out after the merge.

It's all about trust. Trust in original alliances vs. trust built when the tribes were swapped.

The Votes

Poor Michelle. I'm not really sure what that vote does for anyone. I think they were dumb not to go after Taylor or Jay. They clearly had the numbers to get one of those bigger targets out. That said, I'm glad they didn't, because I love a good bromance :) They have their work cut out for them though, because they are now down in the numbers 9-3.
