The previews for this episode look absolutely crazy! Can't wait to see all the drama unfold.
On last night's preview episode, we find out that Clare does in fact get the first one-on-one date (see previous spoiler post).
One-on-One Date: Clare
JP has a surprise for Clare. He blindfolds her and puts her into the car. The date card said "let's chill" and as we saw last night, they are going to have a snow date, in a fake winter wonderland. It looks a lot different at night than it did in the daytime when he was there with his daughter Camila. They arrive and he carries her (still blindfolded) and puts her in the snow and finally takes off her blindfold.
They have fun sledding down a ramp, having a snowball fight, hide-and-seek around the trees and some ice skating. They seem to be having a great time. She keeps talking about how wonderful she thinks the first date is going. That's going to get annoying real quick.
What's with the girls this season and the massages? Clare gives him a massage in the hot tub, while she talks about her dad. Does that seem a little bit weird? (Remember: she's the girl who's father passed away and left a video for her to show to her future husband.) It's also a little bit of a downer that she brought that up so quickly, and made for a very emotional date. On a positive note, he got to know a lot about her and was glad that she opened up to him. As a result, he then gave her the rose. She received the first one-on-one date, the first rose of the week and also the first make-out session. Big night for Clare.
To end the night, they are serenaded by Josh Krajcik! (Remember him? He's the guy from Wooster, OH, who was on X Factor, season 1. Woo woo for the local guy!)
Drama at the House
Of course everyone is jealous that they didn't get the first one-on-one date. Meanwhile, Lucy is going au naturale in the hot tub. She's completely topless and does not care one bit about everyone seeing her...or the fact that she's making everyone very uncomfortable. We get it Lucy, you're a "free spirit". Could you just maybe be a little less "free" on camera and when other people are around? And save the "free" for your alone time? Thanks.
One-on-One Date: Kat
JP's got another surprise up his sleeve. He takes Kat to the airport to a private jet. They run into a little turbulence and he uses that opportunity to "fall" on her...classic. He then puts on some neon lighted running clothes and gives her shorts and a tank top. After getting off the plane, they end up in front of a huge crowd there for an electric run...which they are going to be leading off. What a bunch of nuts! I've never heard of such a thing. It's a 5k, but it's a dance party...what?! I don't get it.
She got a rose, had a great time...but most of that time was spent just dancing with, and in front of A TON of people. This date was like the complete opposite of Clare's.
Group Date
Chelsie, Christy, Kelly, Cassandra, Andi, Renee, Lauren, Alli, Chantel, Nikki, Elise, Victoria, Lucy
The date is a photo shoot with puppies! It's a sexy photo shoot with puppies to promote adoption. Seems a little strange. And the creative director's beard looks like he was dipped in smurf blue...weird!
The girls are put in bikinis and they get made up to look kind of like their dogs. Some were unfortunate to get some strange costumes, like a fire hydrant. And then Elise and Andi are shown their outfits, which was a small sign...and THAT'S IT! Poor girls! How is being naked is related to puppy adoption...am I just missing something? I don't see why that was necessary to promote a good cause. Of course there isn't really a reason, other than to spark controversy.
Elise asks to switch with Lucy...obviously, because Lucy's more than comfortable walking down the street COMPLETELY NAKED walking a dog. Yes, it happened. And then Elise had the nerve to complain about her fire hydrant outfit that she SWITCHED FOR! She complained about being naked...I get that. But then to complain about what you begged Lucy to switch for? Chantel said it best..."Are you kidding me? Wear the f***ing hydrant and shut the f*** up. Seriously".
Let the completely inappropriate photos begin...I feel bad that those dogs had to witness some of what went on. Their poor little innocent eyes.
Andi was not happy about posing nude, either. She said she's the girl who brought a one-piece...so obviously, she doesn't like to show off her body that much. That's kind of refreshing, actually. Part of her wanted to do it because it was for charity, but she was so nervous. JP came and talked to her and said he was going to be doing it with her, and he calmed her down.
Other than being naked (but covered with signs)...the picture actually turned out pretty good. Andi was glad she did it, and Lucy was just happy to be "free" of those cumbersome clothes.
For the end of the date, they went to a rooftop pool.
Cassandra shared with JP that she has a 2-year old son.
Renee shared a nice moment with JP, and she was hoping for a kiss for the 2nd time during the day (because she was very close during the photo shoot)...but she came up short again.
But the story of the night is that Victoria is smashed...already! She's slurring her speech and she said this is how she is sober. Um...yeah, I don't think so! Nikki, in the nicest way possible, told her to tone it down, because some of the girls thought she was hammered. She said Kelly told her she should have a bark collar on because she's too loud, and here response was that "I'm not a dog, I'm just a b****." Nice. Her other great quote was about straddling Juan Pablo because "that's what life is about: straddling people...and things." She was talking about when she had to straddle him during the photo shoot and give him mouth-to-mouth. She then translated that into giving someone the "hymen maneuver"! Whoa! That's gonna be a classic quote right there! As she is dying to have her one-on-one time, she stumbles around looking for JP. She sees him with Nikki...and then runs away and goes into the bathroom and starts to sob. She wouldn't open the stall door, so Renee slid UNDER the door to comfort her. Wow...what a friend. She then starts yelling about wanting to go home and she yells "I want nothing to do with him. I'm done. I'm going home." She was insane! She could not be reasoned with at all. She wanted to go home so badly, and wouldn't even wait for them to call her a cab.
JP goes to find her, and she's in the bathroom again. He keeps saying her name over and over again, and she won't respond. She doesn't want to talk to him. What a baby! Poor JP...what do you do in a situation like that? He didn't do anything wrong, so he shouldn't feel bad.
JP rejoins the group and gives the rose to Kelly, because he said she was the best sport. Really? She was the best sport? I kind of think it was Andi, but whatever.
The night ends and JP tells the girls to get Victoria home safely so he can talk to her tomorrow. Something tells me she won't be sticking around that long. I agree with the girls, I think he handled the situation in the best way possible.
The next day, JP visits Victoria at a hotel. I'm shocked she stuck around. She apologized to him and said that maybe she overreacted. Maybe? She said she was nervous around all the girls and then it made her upset and angry. She said she was embarrassed and she didn't want him to see her cry because she's trying to date him. She said "maybe" she drank too much and "maybe" she could have handled it better. That's quite the understatement. Ultimately, he said "the rightest thing to do is not wait for the Rose Ceremony". He correctly saw that he didn't need to be with someone who can't handle themselves. That's one crazy down, and still at least one (Lucy) left.
Cocktail Party
Another weird "Amy" move from the other Amy left on the show...as a reporter, she pretends to have a microphone and interviews Juan Pablo. How about just having a real conversation with him? Would that be too weird? She didn't have a date this week, and I don't really think that that little gimmick was the way to use her one-on-one time.
Sharleen apologizes for being totally ungracious when he offered her the first impression rose. Good...she noticed that! I was beginning to wonder if she knew how completely awkward that was. Then she shoots herself in the foot again by saying that talking to him is so nerve-wracking. I don't think "nerve-wracking" is the word you want to use there, Sharleen. Maybe you get nervous talking to him, but if it is truly nerve-wracking, then you should just leave now. Saying it like that really kind of defeats the purpose of you apologizing to him.
Cassandra breaks down because she misses her son, Trey. Again, Renee is the comforter. She, too, has a son, so she can relate. However, somehow, she's managing things much better. Renee takes Cassandra upstairs, soon followed by JP. He went to check on the "two moms". Renee left and JP talked to Cassandra. He tells her that he sees her and Renee differently because they have children, like he does. He said that he hoped she stayed and that if he didn't feel something, he would let her know right away. He gets her to smile and they end with a fist-bump...nice.
Rose Ceremony
The order the roses were handed out: Cassandra, Nikki, Andi, Elise, Sharleen, Renee, Danielle, Lucy, Alli, Chelsie, Lauren, Christy
Going home: Victoria, Amy L., Chantel
Final Thoughts
Looks like Amy's interview bombed. Ha!
Danielle? Who is this girl, and why is she getting a rose? She didn't get a date this week, and I really thought he liked Chantel. I wonder what he saw in Danielle in such a short amount of time that he didn't see in Chantel. And Chantel aside, what does he see in Sharleen and why doesn't he see her complete lack of interest in him? Clearly he needs to give her the boot, because she can't seem to walk away herself.
