Last week we left off with Ian totally blowing up at Kaitlyn and him letting her know EXACTLY what he thinks of her.
She asked him if he was saying that she wasn't there to find a husband and he said from what he's seen, he doesn't think she is. She told him that her blood was boiling and she was super offended. She couldn't believe that he was calling her shallow and "surface level". She said there is much more to her that he hasn't seen. She was disappointed by the way he approached things. They both agreed that he didn't belong there and he said he would be leaving. She asked if he felt good about that, and he just got up and walked out. To the cameras he said that he is too deep and too complex of a thinker and he doesn't belong there with those other guys. He said he was being punished for being too intellectual. He was so tired of talking about farts, bowel movements, and sex, and he missed having real conversations about life with people. Then he stroked his ego again and said he fully expects to be the Bachelor and he expects to find love on this show. He said the girls would come out of the woodwork wanting to go out with him. Then, in a twist of irony, he said "man, I really need to have some sex". So much for not talking about it. He's absolutely dreaming if he thinks they are going to make him the Bachelor. Not going to happen.
And of course, who comes to her rescue: Nick. He said that he and Ian had a conversation with each other the other day. He told Ian not to be accusatory when he talks to her. He said he told Ian that he wouldn't have come to meet Kaitlyn if he didn't think she was capable of being a great person. Of course he said all the right things and all the things that she wanted to hear in that moment. Then the guys realized that Nick was missing, he had a rose already, and now he's taking up their time again. Joshua is worried that he's not going to have a chance to talk to her to fix the horrible mess he's gotten himself into. Shawn decided to go talk to her, but found her kissing Nick which really upset him.
Rose Ceremony Eliminations (2 but 3 total): Joshua, Justin (plus Ian who walked out)
Remaining Guys (9): Ben H, Ben Z, Chris, Jared, JJ, Joe, Nick, Shawn, Tanner
And there are off to Dublin, Ireland.
1-on-1 Date: Nick (The guys are less than amused because there are a few of them who have not had a 1-on-1 date and now Nick has gotten one before them.
They go for a walk, and Kaitlyn's fear of birds comes up again. They are in the park and Nick tries to convince her that nothing is going to happen if they walk through them. Then they get roped into some river dancing on the street.
Nick bought them both rings to wear on their ring finger. They did a lot of making out on the streets. It was obvious they couldn't keep their hands off of each other. He was putting his hands up her shirt in the bar. Seriously guys, get a room! Oh wait...that's coming up later.
They have dinner in a cathedral...seems like a really strange place to have a meal. They were totally all over each other the whole time and she wasted no time giving him the rose. It was obvious that this night was not going to end with dinner (especially since we've seen all of the previews). She told him she didn't want the night to end and she invited him back to her hotel room to "hang out for a bit". Clearly not caring that they were in public or that they were on camera, she had her legs wrapped all around him.
Back at the hotel, the guys talk about how much they don't trust Nick and that they hope Kaitlyn sees his true character. Meanwhile, they cut back to the hotel, and um...you can probably guess what was happening behind closed doors. The next day, she was feeling pretty good about their time together (that she felt like they deserved), but...she also felt guilty. She didn't want it to be an issue. She even asked herself what she would have done if Chris and Britt had had sex on a date.
Nick showed back up to the hotel and he talked about their date. She was really worried that he was going to say something to the guys and that would really be a problem. He said she invited him back to her hotel room and they sat on the couch and it was very casual. Umm....yeah, that's not quite how it happened. Then he just kept talking about it. He used the word "intimate"...oh no. He mentioned that they had a lot of whiskey to drink that day.
Group Date: Ben H, Ben Z, Chris, Jared, Tanner
Chris Harrison tells the guys that they are going to be attending an Irish wake. They walk into the pub, and Kaitlyn is laying in a casket. Chris called her the "worst dead person ever" because she couldn't stop laughing. This is such a weird date! Apparently Irish wakes are more of a celebration. So each of the guys was supposed to think about how they feel about Kaitlyn and then give a toast about her.
Tanner had a great rhyming toast and it was really funny! He joked about wondering how he is still there and even he was surprised that he got a rose. He ended it with a reminder that his name is Tanner. lol!
Jared's was sweet and leaned in and gave her a kiss. Chris, jokingly, said he was disgusted, because who kisses dead people?
Chris decided to sing his toast. Kaitlyn was cracking up the whole time.
Ben H said he was there with her 5 ex-boyfriends and he was happy to say that he was the one she chose. He proceeded to tell how she died after taking a walk and she was pecked to death by pigeons. It was so cute and funny...I think she got it. Chris thought it was a little bit distasteful.
Shawn said he was devastated to learn that she had taken her own life. He said he would have done the same thing if he had to spend the whole day with Nick. Good one Shawn! lol!
Ben Z told all the guys to leave the room for his toast. He put his hand on hers and got all serious. He said their time together was short but she taught him a lot. He got a little emotional because of losing his mother. He wanted to say a joke but he knew she was better at it than him. He said he would never forget her and she would always be in his heart. He was so close to crying. She might just get him to cry before his time is done on the show.
She was really impressed with what they all said and she wished that when she dies that they would all say those things about her. Then it was time to sing and dance!
On the night portion of the date, Ben Z opened up a little more about how hard it is for him to talk about his emotions and to show them. She is helping him a lot with that.
For Shawn's alone time with Kaitlyn, he showed her some pictures of his family.
The group date rose went to Jared. Shawn was bummed. He thinks Kaitlyn is telling him that he's the one and he thought the rose should have gone to him for that reason. As a reward for his rose, Kaitlyn and Jared were serenaded by The Cranberries.
Shawn really starts to freak out. He says she is driving him away and he can't do it anymore. He said she is ruining what could be amazing. He said when they were alone she was telling him that he was the one and she chooses to spend more time with Jared. After the date, Shawn just had to see her, so he went to her hotel room. She was so worried that the reason he was there was to talk about what happened with Nick.
The show is doing a horrible time with time management and not only do we not get to see the Rose Ceremony, but we don't even get to see the 2-on-1 date, which is sure to be epic because it involves JJ.
