The Bachelorette, Ep. 11.4

The Sh** is Going to Hit the Fan...
Continued from last week, we start off right off the bat with Kaitlyn getting ready to let Clint have it. She had just been told by all 13 of the other guys that Clint was not there for the right reasons. My question is: why is JJ getting off scott-free...he's doing just about the exact same thing as Clint. So here we go for the play-by-play...

She pulls him aside, and everyone know that this isn't good. He said there are people in the house that are "very, very, very jealous," but he and JJ have become "like best, best, best friends." "We have grown very, very, very close." Man, he sure does like the word very, doesn't he? She cut him off and said that JJ does speak very highly of him, but it's not about JJ. She said that everyone else is saying that he is one way with her and another way with the rest of the guys. He said they are jealous, and she said he's just being argumentative. She said he has been backpedaling and he looked dumbfounded. She said they are moving backwards all the time, and here he is just talking about JJ and not about them. He said she could ask any one of the guys and they wouldn't say anything bad about him. he said he's never said anything mean about the guys or to the guys and has been nothing but kind to them all. She obviously knew that wasn't the case. She just rolled her eyes, and let out a couple huge sighs as she tried to decide what to say to him. He said he's been 100% honest with her and that scares him...and now he's laying it on thick trying to save himself. He said he would do whatever it takes to overcome this. She said she is upset because she really, really, really liked him (so I guess her favorite word is "really", either that or she's listened to Carly Rae Jepson's song "I Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Like You" too many times. He said, so what, you're done with me? She said she was done and she didn't trust him, and he thought it was insane. She said her gut was telling her that he wasn't her husband.

Her and Clint joined the guys and he immediately wanted to know who said that he was bad mouthing her. She told the guys that she was going to ask him to leave. JJ looked devastated.

JJ spoke up and said "you should probably say 'sorry' to all of us right now." He said he thought that he was taking an emotional energy away from everyone. What?! Who is he Tony? That was just bizarre. I thought he was talking to Kaitlyn, but he was talking to JJ! And just like THAT, the bromance is over! Just seconds earlier, JJ said that it goes without saying, that whatever happens he would still be friends with Clint, and he would probably know him for the rest of his life. So, was this just JJ trying to save himself at this point? He sees Clint is a sinking ship and he wants to distance himself from him and not go down with him?

JJ followed Clint out and said he probably said some things in the heat of the moment because he was frustrated and said it was hard for him. JJ said the guys were coming after him too and they would probably be in the same limo going home (I wish). They went back and forth about how they each told each other stuff that no one else knows. Clint went off on him and told him to get away from him. He went in there hoping JJ would stand up for him. Clint said he was about to lose his cool and he was not OK with that. Clint walks out with one last jab at JJ: "that tie looks really great with that shirt, you  (bleep), you piece of sh**." Wow. Clint leaves in the limo, and JJ wipes a little tear from his eye and heads to the bathroom. He couldn't even do an interview...he got up, walked to the bushes, bent over and sobbed...over a GUY! Yes, people, that's a first. Thanks ABC for those amplified sniffles, that was totally necessary.

JJ doing what he did just confirmed to Kaitlyn that she did the right thing. No Kaitlyn, the right thing to do was to send them both home.

The guys couldn't believe what JJ did to Clint. As much as they hate Clint, they hate JJ more because he threw his best friend under the bus. Jared said their break-up was the worst break-up in the history of The Bachelor or The Bachelorette. Their relationship with each other was obviously more important than their relationship with Kaitlyn.

Kaitlyn said her mind wasn't made up at this point and she pulls Chris aside. She tells him that she doesn't think they should have a Rose Ceremony. Keep in mind, 2 people left this week: Tony left on his own and she sent Clint home. So, even though there was no Rose Ceremony, the numbers have still dwindled. She told the guys that she feels too good about the guys that are left, and JJ wiped away another tear. The guys weren't immediately excited because they were hoping that JJ would be going home.

Chris tells the group that they are all leaving for New York City.

Oh, and can we just talk about the fact that Jared finally shaved his patchy facial hair?!? If this wasn't filmed months ago, I would say he must have read my blog :) Thank you Jared! Much improved!

Remaining Guys: Ben H, Ben Z, Chris, Corey, Ian, Jared, JJ, Joe, Jonathan, Joshua, Justin, Ryan, Shawn, Tanner

Group Date #1: Rap battle with guest Doug E. Fresh
Ben Z, Corey, JJ, Jonathan, Justin, Ryan, Shawn, Tanner

Another battle date. Definitely seeing a pattern with Kaitlyn: she likes guys battling for her. Maybe Tony would have liked this date, seeing as it wasn't physical. She said she wants a guy who can make fun of himself (isn't that the same things she was trying to accomplish with the boxing and the sumo dates?) And of course we know how much Kaitlyn likes to rap, so it's not surprising that she was going to make that into a date at some point. Part of the point of the rap battle is to talk some smack about your opponent.

Shawn is worried because his musical icons are Blake Shelton, Jason Aldean...so country...yeah, this isn't that.

Shawn picked Justin because he wanted to make fun of his '90s hair. Corey picked JJ (so reason necessary on that one, as he said he was "the easiest choice by far". Ryan chose Jonathan, which left Tanner against Ben Z.

The guys got some time to write their material and Doug E. Fresh and Kaitlyn offered some tips.

Oh lookie there...Nick Viall is in the audience...prepare to see more of him later.

Round 1: Ben Z. vs Tanner. I thought Ben did a good job, but Tanner got in some better zingers.

Round 2: Jonathan vs. Ryan. Ryan was funny but he didn't have much rhythm and Jonathan's seemed pretty short.

Round 3: Corey vs. JJ. Corey really went all out for this one...he pulled his pants down and put on a beanie hat. I loved that he rhymed "stint" with "your boyfriend Clint"! Oh no he di'nt! Even JJ had to laugh at that one. JJ got started and it was going pretty good until he told Corey to go back to his "NYC hoes"....oops...not good to totally insult your audience.

Round 4: Shawn vs. Justin. Shawn used his abs in his rap and it was pretty good. Justin did pretty well also, but relating Shawn to Ryan Gosling and Matt Damon isn't really an insult.

As soon the guys were done, she ran into the audience to hug Ashley from her season. Then, she sees Nick and is shocked (sort of). They went off to chat and he told her that he would have regretted not meeting her. She said they've talked some via text and she couldn't believe that he was there. She was like a giddy school girl. I, for one, can't figure out why...he is not good looking, from what we've seen he's not a great guy, and he's a sore loser. Yeah, big winner right there, Kaitlyn. She asked him if he was going to stay and he said it wasn't his call, it was hers. She told him that she needed to think about it. She said that she has enjoyed talking to him and was kind of sad coming to the show because she wasn't going to get to talk to him anymore. She agonized over what to do, seeing as she is already 4 weeks into this.

The guys meet for the evening part of their date. Shawn asked her if she was OK, and she said "no" and that her heart was pounding. She told the guys that she takes this very seriously, and she told them that "someone" from another season was there. She wants to give him a chance to see where this goes, but she doesn't want them to feel disrespected. Kaitlyn: do you really think the guys are going to say "sure, go ahead, why not? The more the merrier!" Um, no way. They asked very good and legitimate questions like what her relationship was with him before the show. She told them he reached out to her after last season and they only talked a couple of times. Then they asked who it was, and when she said "Nick", they were all pretty sure they knew who it was...and they were NOT happy. Their mood quickly turned defensive and you could tell that they all thought he was a jerk. No one wanted to say what they were really thinking. Shawn asked her if she was not confident about the guys she has here already. She said she was, but Shawn said that she didn't sound very convincing. Because she had to think about bringing him in really made him question her commitment to them and the connection that she has with him and with each of the other guys.

She got up and the guys discussed. Tanner said he was all for it until she said who it was and he just doesn't respect the guy and what he did to Andi on national television.

She meets up with Nick and they hug and she still tells him that she is still conflicted because she doesn't want to disrespect the guys. His response: "you just gotta do what you gotta do" and then he went for the kiss. Way to go Kaitlyn...you have a relationship with 14 guys that you've known for 4 weeks, and now you're making out with a guy that you technically just met that day. Real classy. Needless to say, that pretty much just seals the deal. She was mad that he was coming so late into things, but she was excited because she realized her connection with him before she came on the show, before she knew that her being the Bachelorette was a possibility. She told him that she wanted to sleep on it and talk to him about it in the morning.

Group Date Rose goes to Justin. Tanner thinks this might be the most meaningless rose ever since she is considering bringing Nick into the season.

The guys on the group date couldn't wait to get back to the hotel and tell the rest of the guys. They all knew that if Nick did join the show that none of them were going to be OK with him. They said it was so desperate of him. They said if she likes a guy who does what he did, then she might not be the girl for any of them. (Side note: in case you forget, on the After the Final Rose, Nick called Andi out for basically sleeping with him and making him believe that he was the one, and then she chose Josh.)

The Decision
Kaitlyn calls Nick. She tells him that she has some pretty intense feelings for some of the guys. She told him that she wanted to talk to him in person. She said she was going on a date and before the date she was getting her hair done, so she wanted him to meet her there. Oh man, I thought she was going to do something crazy like invite him on the date or something. And the person she chooses to talk to is....CRAZY Ashley S. Yeah, that's a smart move. Ashley is doing her hair (totally didn't remember that was her job) and she lays out all her feelings and Ashley gives her some advice. And wouldn't you know, she actually made some sense! Crazy, I know! Ashley told her that her initial feelings for Nick could just be lust and could fade over time.

She met up with Nick and basically told him that she was giving him a chance if he wanted to stay. She told him that he probably shouldn't move in with the rest of the guys right away. He said he hopes they can respect why he's there even if they don't like it. And to make things the most awkward ever: she tells him she has a date to get to, and then proceeds to slowly make out with him, right there in the middle of the city.

She said at the end of the day, she just had to follow her heart, otherwise she would regret her decision, not knowing how it could have ended.

1-on-1 Date: Jared (I totally feel bad for Jared having to go on this date after she just met with Nick and was making out with him)

They are dressed very fancy, and he meets her at the MET. They have the place all to themselves to explore. Who thinks she's totally thinking about Nick right now?

As Jared is saying the nicest things ever, and you can definitely tell she is looking right through him and not even paying attention to what he was saying. She is only thinking about how the guys are going to react to Nick coming back. In a totally selfish move, she asks Jared what he thinks about it. This date should be about him and not about Nick. Jared handled it very well and said all the right things. Finally by the end of the date, he had her smiling and I think she was finally not focused on Nick. He wrote her a little poem, and he did the most awesome thing! He ended it with a rhyme, ending in "I like it a lot"...said as an impression exactly like Jim Carrey's character Lloyd on Dumb and Dumber. That. was. awesome. Loved it!

He gets the rose...but the date isn't over. They took a limo to a helicopter which took them for a ride over the city and the Statue of Liberty. She actually said that she had so much fun with Jared that maybe she didn't need Nick.

Meanwhile, back at the house, the guys continue to talk about Nick. They don't want to be intimidated by having Nick come back. Their concern is that they already don't get enough time with her, and now instead of losing guys, they are adding. Not only that, but someone made the good point that she keeps saying that she thinks her husband is in the group. If that were true, she wouldn't feel the need to bring in anyone else.

Group Date #2: Aladdin stage performance
Ben H, Chris, Ian, Joe, Joshua

They will all have to go through some Broadway training, where they will learn to sing and dance. The winner will get to be Kaitlyn's leading lady in the show that night. All of the other guys don't even get to stick around, they have to go back to the hotel.

Joe was having a hard time learning the dance steps, and knocked over some props. Chris was so focused, and it was just too cute! I really enjoyed watching all of them, but Chris, by far, was the cutest.

Next is was onto the singing. Ben H has a really nice voice! Joe...does not...it was really painful, but at least he kept going when he didn't know the words. Ian also has a really good voice! Their complaint with Ian was that he was singing too much and not singing to her. Chris was so excited to sing the song because he has sung it in the shower (really?) and he is excited to sing it to Kaitlyn. He was good and so animated!

And the winner is: Chris! Yay Cupcake!

So, they are both so excited for their "performance". And all they did was stand there and hold some flowers, and then walk off. She enjoyed it, but I would say that's a rip-off! And for Chris to have to learn dance steps and sing for a chance to do the performance, and then not get to do any of it?! What a bummer!

Group Date Rose goes to Chris, obviously. She gave him the rose at the top of the big ball in Times Square.

And of course, what episode wouldn't be over without drama and a "to be continued". Tonight's drama, of course, is Nick moving in with the guys. Duh duh duh....
