The Glass House, Ep. 2

Week 2 of The Glass House is here. What has America decided about Alex, will he return or will he be gone for good.  Let's get to it!

We start off by seeing Alex and Jacob going into the Limbo tubes. The houseguests couldn't be happier to be rid of Alex, even if it's only temporary. It didn't take them long to make guesses about who America would send back. However, their guesses don't matter because the "voice" tells them that one person quit. So now, they are trying to figure out which one of them quit. Some think Alex and some think Jacob. Jeffrey said that as Jacob was being lowered into Limbo that he had a really "givey-uppy" face. Haha...great quote! Kevin said that the way that Alex acted, that he wouldn't be surprised if even Alex's friends and families didn't vote for him.

Immediately after the debating, the houseguests took turns impersonating Alex. They were spot-on! I'm so amazed that they had him pegged so perfectly after only being with him for a couple of days. Some of them looked and sounded just like him...scary!

Finally, it was time to find out. Erica said, "Smoke will come out of those holes and the devil will come back from Purgatory." The house looks terrified as Alex is raised up in the Limbo tube. No sooner did he arrive, then he was lowered back down, as America did not vote him back into the house. I was a little surprised. I really thought that America would want to see more of him. They told him to be a villain, after all. But apparently, his plan backfired and he really offended people instead of making good television. His face was priceless as he disappeared.

Now that that's taken care of, the house moves on to other pressing matters: who voted for Erica? Whoever it was, can't be trusted. Some suspect Holly, but she lies to the group, only to later confess to Erica that it was her. She said something about not wanting to follow the house, blah blah blah, but really all she did was make herself a target. And if that wasn't bad enough, others suspect that she is lying about other things as well. Robin thinks she lied about being an art history major because she couldn't name who painted the "Sixteen Chapel".

OK, sidebar here...I'm pretty sure she said "Sixteen", which is weird, in and of itself. But, even weirder is that on another show (I think it was Dallas), just last week, someone else said the exact same thing. So now I"m wondering if I'm the stupid one for thinking that it is Sisteen Chapel and not Sixteen...or maybe I'm just deaf.

OK, back to the show. They confront Holly about her actual major and they ask her to name some papers she wrote...and she can't. She confesses that she's a bad liar, and that she is really a psych major and she didn't want people to know because they might see her as a threat. Robin still isn't buying it, so she said, "name one psychologist that you studied". Holly says, "Um...I...uh...", for a REALLY long time. By now, it's obvious she has no clue. She then says "Dr. Phil". What? Really? Absolutely hilarious! They ask her to name what her last paper was on and she says, "I did it on...um...it was...I'm really not lying about this." And...she couldn't do it! EPIC FAIL! Just for kicks, I went back and looked at what her occupation was: Retail Sales. Um, yeah, not quite psychology. Target is now HUGE and squarely on her back!

The houseguests are then called together and it is revealed which 2 players received the fewest viewer votes. Those 2 players will be team captains this week, and the loser will be sent to Limbo. The winners (or actually losers) are: Apollo and Ashley. The 2 captains then start to go into strategic mode and try to decide who they want on their teams. Ultimately, if they are playing smart, they want to make sure they have people they think they can beat in Limbo if their team loses.

Ashley gets to pick first because she received more votes than Apollo. The challenge is called "Ruffle Your Tail Feathers". The object of the game is to have 3 people suspended like birds throwing eggs into houses. People on the ground control the "birds" with ropes. Ashley's team fairs pretty well and without too many problems. It's Apollo's team's turn, and he strategically places Gene as the middle "bird" because he is an athletic stuntman. Holly is the first bird and she can't make the throw to Gene. Egg after egg is dropped. To me it looks like Holly's throws are bad, but for some reason everyone is questioning why Gene keeps dropping them. The catches he does make, his throws to Mike, in return, are dropped. His teammates are now questioning if he's throwing the challenge on purpose. Finally, after many dropped eggs, they get into a rhythm and finally finish the challenge.

The results are in: Apollo's team completed the challenge in 5:54, while Ashley's team did it in 3:48. This means that Apollo is automatically going to Limbo, and the houseguests will vote on the remaining members of that team to join him.

But first, there were some burdens "awarded" to the winning team. Each egg that was thrown into a house had a name on it, and each house had a task:
Stephanie had to hand squeeze 5 gallons of orange juice and also transfer packing peanuts one by one. Andrea blew up 500 balloons, while Jeffrey had to peel 200 hard boiled eggs. Jeffrey said he had to go to a happy place to do the task, so he put on some pieces of flair...haha.

Fanswer time (Fan Answer):
Holly asks if she was sent to Limbo if America would vote her back into the house, and the answer was "yes". Stephanie asked, when giving personal information if it was better to be more open or closed, and the answer was "open". And sticking with strange question asking, like last week, Apollo asked if he switched his strategy early in the game if America would vote for him. However that wasn't all...if the answer was yes, they should say "Stephanie" and if the answer is no, they should say "Gene". The answer was "Stephanie" (yes).

Before voting time, we see some more antics of the house. This time it's Gene, Andrea and Jeffrey inside the house, watching Holly and Ashley talking outside the house. Gene says they should interpret what they think they are talking about outside. So each one takes turns making up some hilarious quotes like "my waist is skinny" and "is my shirt too small". I agree with Jeffrey "this is one of my favorite games"...when done well, and they did.

Voting time. We see Erica vote for Holly and Holly vote for Erica. Jeffrey and Gene also vote for Holly. The results are in: Erica receives 1 vote, while Holly receives the other 10. Apollo and Holly proceed to Limbo to await America's decision. Apollo tells America that he is switching his strategy from all luck to all strategy.  Will it be enough to make it back into the  house? Last week he received the fewest votes out of everyone, so it will be interesting to see. With Holly's parade of lies, that could be enough for America to be done with her.  Only time will tell...until next week!
