Clare is trying to pull herself together. She's crying so uncontrollably that she can't even talk to Chris. Everyone else can't understand why she's making such a big deal, because she has the rose to give out, not the other way around. They all thought she might leave, but we all knew she would stay (thanks to spoilers).
Ashley I. gives her rose to Jared (and he accepts). Ashley's having a great night (according to herself) -- she kissed the guy she liked and didn't look ridiculous and Clare had a major meltdown.
Clare gives her rose to JJ (he shakes his head, but he accepts; couldn't tell if that was an "oh man, not Clare" head shake, or an "I can't believe I got a rose" shake)
Juelia gives her rose to Joe (did we have any doubt about that one?)
That means that Mikey, Jonathan, and Michael are all going home. Mikey and Jonathan tried to warn Juelia about Joe, but she thinks they are all lying and that Joe can't wait to get to know more about her and spend more time with her. I would hate to be her when she watches all this back. And the guys who thought Joe was their friend? "Rose before bros" couldn't have felt good to hear.
Samantha Arrives
Well, lookie there...Joe can't stop talking about Samantha, and here she is! Chris asks if there is anyone she is hoping to see. She said Joe seems sweet. She says she normally goes for the bad guys and she doesn't want to do that and she is staying away from that here. Good luck with that.
She walks in, says hello, and then basically just picks Joe and asks if she could talk to him. She then asked him on the date with her, and he couldn't be happier. She said he stuck out right away and she thinks he's cute.
Juelia is immediately in tears and she doesn't know why Samantha had to pick him for the date. She didn't even get a chance to talk to anyone else before she immediately decided on him.
Jared asked Joe if he had talked to Samantha before the show. He said "no". Tanner knows that he had talked to her before because Joe told him they had. It was all Tanner could do to not get involved when he knows Joe flat-out lied to everyone.
Juelia feels disrespected because he didn't come to talk to her before his date with Samantha to see if she was OK. They came in holding hands after they just met, and Juelia is basically devastated.
Juelia said that her and Samantha are actually friends and if she knew what happened prior with her and Joe and what the guys had told her that she might think differently about him on their date.
Samantha & Joe's Date
Their date is a photo shoot to celebrate hot bodies with People magazine. I just don't see these two as a couple at all. but they are totally digging each other. Let's just say they were all over each other in these pictures. She said he got excited in more ways than one. And how uncomfortable was it for the people on the set when they were making out under an outside shower.
Joe said he doesn't know what Juelia needs and he doesn't care. He doesn't care what people think about him as long as him and Sam work out.
They come back from their date and Sam is carrying a humongous bouquet of roses. No one cares that this might be hurtful for Juelia. Joe isn't afraid to tell everyone exactly what happened on the date and completely ignores Juelia or even acknowledges that she is in the room.
Jared said Joe should go talk to Juelia. He said he wasn't going to do that. He didn't want to talk to a "Debbie Downer" after having the best date of his life. Jared said he's a stand-up guy and talking to her was the right thing to do. Joshua said Juelia is going into some kind of depression and he needed to help her out of it. He basically didn't care, but eventually, he did go to talk to her. She said he has just been ignoring her and he wouldn't even look at her while she was talking. He said nothing, she did all the talking. She said he should have just told her if they didn't have a connection. He just looked annoyed. He told her that he "appreciated taking her time" to talk to him. Yeah, no, that's just wrong. He didn't apologize, he barely said 2 words.
The next day, Joe and Samantha don't even try to hide that they are all over each other in the hot tub. Juelia feels so disrespected. And just think, if she didn't give him a rose, he would have been sent home and none of this would have happened.
Dan realizes that Joe used Juelia to get a rose, in order to stay and get a chance to meet Samantha. Dan basically wants to beat the crap out of Joe for what he did to Juelia.
Juelia thinks that if she doesn't have something with Joe, then she thinks maybe she should just leave. Why stay for the Rose Ceremony, why not just leave now and not have to go through with not getting a rose.
Everyone confronts Joe about whether or not he had talked to Samantha before the show. He kind of skirted around the question at first. Then he admitted that they had talked a month before, but didn't talk about getting together on the show because they didn't know who was going to make it on the show.
Jared told Joe that he feels bad for what he did to Juelia. Joe seems shocked to hear that everyone thinks he played Juelia.
Dan decides to bring Joe to Juelia so they can confront him about what he did. Joe said he thinks Dan was trying to be Superman and king on the beach. He doesn't know why he has to stick his head in someone else's business. Dan said Juelia didn't think their talk before was good enough and she deserved answers. She said he wasn't 100% honest with her. He admitted to knowing that Sam would be on the show, he just didn't know when. She said everything doesn't add up and she feels like he played her because he said he didn't know how to talk to her and show his feelings and that he was there for her. But, as soon as Sam shows up, he's all over her, holding hands, etc. He said he just had a stronger connection with Sam and the whole situation is being blown out of proportion. She said she thinks he should have treated her with more respect. In a very condescending tone, he says "what do you mean by more respect?". Juelia said she is friends with Sam, and Sam needs to know how he's treated her so that she can make a good decision for herself. He said "if I would have played you, then I'm sorry; I obviously made a mistake". Wow, backpedaling fast there. Someone doesn't want a certain someone talking to his new girlfriend. Sam joins the convo. Joe said that he would never hurt Sam. Juelia said that he said the same thing to her. Sam was anxious to find out why Juelia would be worried about her getting hurt. Sam says that her and Juelia should talk. Joe looks like he's going poop his pants right now. He even has the gall to be talking in an ITM and ask the producer "what's her name?" when talking about Juelia. No, you didn't play her at all, did you? He thinks they are just jealous because he had a good time with someone, and now he's going to lose the best girl, who is the closest thing to love at first sight.
Poor Clare
This shows producers just really hate Clare. They have this poor girl always talking to animals. We all know this is editing and not really happening. We're not stupid. Leave the poor girl alone.
Carly & Kirk
Carly gets a Date Card and she obviously chooses Kirk...and he obviously accepts. But uh oh, Kirk thinks things might be moving too fast. This date is "make it or break it".
Kirk tells Carly that he doesn't seem like the guy she would normally go for. He said that they are moving way faster than he normally moves. He said they haven't really talked about "us". Read: this is moving too fast, and I want to put the brakes on, like now, before it goes any further.
Carly makes a phone call to her brother Zak because he got married THAT DAY. She chose to do the show instead of going to her own brother's wedding. Kirk thought her calling him was cute and he thinks he should ignore his fears and go with his heart.
So, did we miss it, or did they do absolutely nothing on their date except sit on a bench, talk a little bit, call her brother, and then kiss under fireworks?
Kirk thinks they should find a hotel. He hilariously asks for "one fantasy suite" please. They couldn't even make it to the fantasy suite before they were all over each other. But hey, they both warned us on Twitter beforehand...and apologized to their families for what we were about tot see.
Ashley S. & Dan
Ashley is still loving Dan, but Dan kind of had an "a-ha" moment. He told Jade that she was very emotional the other night, and being there for her was really taxing. He sees things that are red flags with her and sees some ways that they might not be compatible.
Dan sits Ashley down and he said they started out so intense and now he's starting to see differences in their personalities and he's not sure how the mesh up. She gives him a really weird and clueless look. He said when he sees red flags he tends to pull back. She thinks his feelings have changed overnight. She said she started falling in love with him on night 3 and now he's telling her that he feels differently. She said the only reason she is still there is because of him. She said she would just leave if what they have isn't real, because she doesn't like anyone else in the house. She said she doesn't even really know him now and he isn't the man she thought he was.
Megan Arrives
In case you don't remember, Megan was one of Chris's crazy girls. She is the total epitome of a ditz. She has absolutely no common sense, and she knows nothing about anything! She greets Chris in a "sobrero" and he corrects her and says it is a "sombrero". Then she says "Aloha Mexico!" Oh dear...I can't even.
Dan said Megan was one of the people that he kind of hoped would show up. He starts to flirt with her right away. So, I'm seeing that Dan has a type. And that type is, how should we say...not the sharpest tools in the shed.
Megan is trying to decide between taking either Dan or JJ on her date. She ultimately decides to take JJ. She totally woke him up from a deep sleep. I'm not sure if he even knew who was talking to him...he was so not awake. He said if a trash bag had asked him on a date he would have gone, but he was glad to see it was a pretty blonde. Wow.
