The Bachelorette, Ep. 12.10: Finale

I am so glad this season is almost over! JoJo turned out to be a better bachelorette than I thought she would, but her roster of guys left MUCH to be desired. I've said it before many times, but I just really couldn't find any of these guys to seriously root for. Their bios and headshots were very underwhelming and they really didn't do much to improve my first impressions by their time on the show. Usually, there are at least a few I really like and end up being a lot better than what I thought they would be. Not so with this group. Derek and Wells were probably the best in the group. Luke is decent, and it will be very interesting to see him as the lead in the next Bachelor, as he's rumored to be getting the gig.

Because of my complete lack of interest, this recap will be kept to a minimum. It's not just because I know the outcome because I've read spoilers for the past several seasons. The background of both of these guys and the lies that they are telling is just ridiculous. I just really feel bad for JoJo. I really hope in the live After the Final Rose that she admits to being wrong about these guys and tells the truth that she believes all of the truths that have been going around. I really hope she doesn't continue with her choice and pretend to stick up for him...only to a couple of months later finally break it off.

So here we go...it's going to be a long 3 hours...

News Flash: JoJo is in love with both guys. Her parents are here to help her. Spoiler Alert: they will love them both and will be absolutely no help whatsoever. Alright, so which guy will cause JoJo's mom to grab the wine bottle and take a swig?

Jordan:

  • He brought ridiculously ugly hats for her parents.
  • JoJo's mom is skeptical that he is a playboy (she would be right).
  • He gave his word that he would not break JoJo's heart.
  • JoJo's mom thinks JoJo and Jordan are too similar, but she likes him, because "who doesn't like Jordan?" (well, his ex and some girls he's talked to on the dating app Raya, to name a few...oh and his brother Aaron for another).
  • He chickened out and didn't ask her dad for JoJo's hand in marriage. JoJo is pretty confident that he asked her dad because she doesn't think that he would ask her to marry him without her dad's permission.
Robby:
  • Her brother told her to look at the big picture and she's not looking for a New Year's Eve date (in response to her saying that with Jordan everything is more fun and free).
  • Her mom told Robby that she grew up a princess and he needs to make her the queen of his heart.
  • Robby wanted to ask JoJo's dad for permission to marry her, and he also wanted her mom to be there when he asked. Of course, he referred to her by her name, Joelle, again...still the only one to do that (and I think he said her name like 3 times in this one conversation. He was very convincing and said ALL the right things about his commitment to "Joelle". I want to believe that he's a good guy, but everything that I've heard about him is pretty much the opposite.
  • JoJo's dad was very emotional after his talk with Robby. She loves him even more after seeing how much her family loved him.
Summary of the 2 visits:
  • Robby is family-oriented and is more husband-material.
  • Robby is a more logical fit because of her insecurities.
  • Jordan is "phenomenal" but Robby is ready for commitment.
  • They tell JoJo that Robby asked to marry her but Jordan didn't ask her dad for his blessing. JoJo was shocked and very worried.
  • Her brother thinks she feels like she has to protect Jordan and stand up for him because ultimately he's the one she thinks.
  • JoJo's dad said they like them both and would be ready to have either of them into their family.
  • She worries if she picks Jordan and it doesn't work out, she will wonder if Robby was the one she should have picked, and vice versa.
  • She has no idea how she is going to make the decision between them because she is very torn.
  • She got kind of upset with her family when she said the family is obviously picking Robby. They backpedal and say they like them both, but it was clear that they had WAY more positive things to say about Robby and how convincing he was about what he wanted.
Final Date Robby:
  • Robby paints a picture of what their life together would be: kids, a dog, burnt food in the oven.
  • JoJo said it's scary how much she trusts him (which is a far cry from where she was a few dates ago).
  • His gift to her was printed photos of some of their most memorable moments.
  • She sees a life with him and is excited for the future.
  • Robby doesn't see how this can't work. He is also worried that maybe he is blinded by love and won't see it coming if she doesn't pick him.
Final Date Jordan:
  • She asked him what it was like talking to her dad. He said it was awkward but he shared his true feelings and intentions. He said he wanted to ask if he could get on one knee but he couldn't. He imagined what that conversation was going to be like when he was young. She said she was disappointed he didn't ask and was bummed because he had told her how important that conversation was for him. She said it made her doubt if he is actually ready. He felt like he doesn't know 100% how she feels and he didn't feel comfortable because they hadn't met Robby yet. He doesn't know if it's him or Robby. When he knows that's what she wants then he can ask. She is so confused and I would be too, he is making no sense. She wonders if he will propose at the end of this because he doesn't really have her parents' blessing. He said if it was up to him, he would be down on one knee.
  • He whines and tries to convince her that he is serious about this. She's upset and confused. He said he has no doubts about what he feels for her and he knows what he wants.
  • He regrets not asking her dad for his blessing.
Jordan Calls JoJo's Parents
He wanted to make sure they knew his feelings and he officially asked her parents for their blessing. They said "yes".

The Guys Both Pick Our Rings

JoJo Has a Moment of Clarity
She is sure knows what to do and is sure that nothing will change her mind. Then she gets a letter from Jordan...saying all of the perfect things. He told her that he called her parents and he can't wait to see her walking towards her. She bursts into tears and says she doesn't feel right. But then she said that was exactly what she needed to hear.

Then, she gets a letter from Robby, pretty much saying the exact same things.

Guess what. She's confused again and she's having a panic attack.

The guys are both sure that they are the one she is picking and can't see how she can have the same thing with anyone else.

Final Rose Ceremony

Robby
  • He has found his forever love with her. His family adores her and his future longs for her. He undoubtedly and is whole-heartedly in love with her. It's a love that's only found in fairytales and he will love her forever and keep her safe. She's his best friend...
  • "Robby, wait, hold on. I can't let you get down on one knee. I can't take that moment from you." She said she woke up this morning and she wanted it to be him. Every day she wanted it to be him. She said she fell in love with him, but for some reason, her heart is somewhere else. Thank you, JoJo, for stopping him before he got down on one knee! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
  • He wondered what was missing. She doesn't doubt how much he loves her and she wanted it to be him so badly. He said he just wanted her to be happy. She doesn't know how to say goodbye to him.
  • She is following her heart and she is hoping that she is not making a huge mistake. He said "Good luck. Don't settle."
  • Tears and sobs everywhere for both of them. She felt like he deserved to know that she loved him and how her heart is broken. I can't believe she sort of did the same thing that Ben did to her. How ironic.
  • She can't believe that she chose to say goodbye to him, and the only thing getting her through is the thought of seeing Jordan.
Jordan
  • She is bawling and sobbing over Robby. Then seconds later, she says she can't wait to spend the rest of her life with Jordan, and she is so ready to say "yes" to him. "So ready!" Wow, that was a quick recovery.
  • I sure wish I could believe the amazing things he is telling her. He is so unbelievably in love with her and he will keep her safe. She is his best friend...um...did he still his speech from Robby?
  • She stopped him and she said she has been waiting for so long to tell him that she loves him. She wanted him to know that before he got down on one knee.
  • "Is this happening?' Ooh, he used her full name: Joelle Hannah Fletcher
  • Oh, they look so happy. I will be shocked if they look this happy on After the Final Rose. You can't tell me that she has not heard over and over again how he has cheated on her, how he still has an active dating app, how he cheated on his past girlfriend...on and on and on...we shall see...
After the Final Rose
Robby is still confused and disappointed by what happened. He said the things JoJo said to him when she sent him home all sounded like reasons why he should be the one she picked. Her only words that she could say to help him now was to say that she couldn't imagine saying goodbye to Jordan and in her heart, her heart was always with Jordan. She added that she thought they were missing some of the friendship and again how similar they were to each other. She found everything she wanted in Jordan. She said she is so happy right now, and because he cares for her so much and is good friends with Jordan, that's all he needed to be content.

Next Bachelor? JoJo brings up Luke and Chase. Chad decides to stand up in the audience and campaign for it to be him. Ha! That would be a trainwreck that I would actually like to see! The show is getting so fake and produced that, hey, why not make a mockery of the whole thing!

Jordan and the rumors: JoJo says she knows the truth and it's hard to hear the rumors and things said about him. So apparently the show wants to save some face, and/or JoJo doesn't want to be embarrassed, so she's going to go with the whole "I'm so happy and excited" story. Guarantee in a couple months, they will be going separate ways. I don't think she will ever say anything bad about him, that just doesn't seem like something she would do.

Jordan said their relationship is doing great. They have grown through the difficult conversations. JoJo said it has been difficult, but they respect each other and he has been very honest with her. I will say that they are being pretty convincing and are very touchy-feely.

They talked about the tabloids and how they have dealt with them. Neither one of them understood why it was happening. She finally decided she can't read it anymore because he's given her no reason to doubt him.

Jordan said the next move is for him to move to Dallas with her. Wow.

Chris asks about Jordan's brother, Aaron and if things have changed. He completely avoided the issue and said he and his family are focused on them right now. Totally didn't address the issue at all. I know it is none of any of our business, but man, I really want to know the whole story!

The Bachelorette, Ep. 12.9

Rose Ceremony Conclusion
We left off last week with Luke stopping the Rose Ceremony and wanting to tell JoJo his true feelings because he didn't feel like he did that in his hometown. She can't believe it took him this long and now she isn't sure what to do. She was going to send him home because he didn't profess his love like she wanted him to (I'm not sure what else she wanted...I mean...he had light candles in the shape of a heart and said he was giving her his heart). Apparently, what he did wasn't good enough and not enough validation for her. So now, she's weeping and sobbing about what to do.

The guys think it's super shady and they wonder if what he did will change her mind. Luke walks back in and they can't read him or figure out what he might have told her. He hopes it's not too little too late. Unfortunately, that's exactly what it was. You could tell she had a much stronger connection with Luke than with Chase (and Robby, for that matter).

Get Roses (3): Chase, Jordan, Robby
Going Home (1): Luke :(

Luke seemed shocked and in disbelief. She was in tears the whole time. She could have just told him right then and there that it wasn't enough and not even bother going through with the Rose Ceremony.

She said this hurt her so badly. She said that she struggled not knowing what he really felt. He said they will never know now what they could have been. She said she didn't know how to say goodbye to him. She was literally a mess. He said he didn't know that he wasn't saying enough. He said he thought their kisses and when he looked at her that the magic was real and that she knew what he was feeling. I think her emotions proved that she made the wrong decision. She said she was trying to follow her heart and her gut and she was so sorry and she cared so much about him. He kept looking at her like he wanted her to change her mind. He said this wasn't supposed to happen and he felt like he was hit by a train. He was in love with her and could have proposed to her today but now he hasn't even gotten the chance to really be in love with her. After he left, she wondered if she made a mistake because it was so hard to let him go. She missed him already.

Off the topic: they did the Rose Ceremony in an airplane hanger. Yet, they sent Luke out in a limo? What an epic sendoff that would have been to sent him off in a plane or even a helicopter. What was the purpose of being in an airplane hanger?

Off to Hua Hin, Thailand
...and time to forget all about Luke with 3 overnight dates.

Robby

  • Date in a busy marketplace
  • They got Thai massages while it was pouring down rain and storming
  • Robby shared a letter his dad wrote him after JoJo's visit, confirming his belief that Robby loved her - he told her to keep it and read it when she has doubts, because it's coming from the person who knows him best
  • Fantasy Suite Card - accepted
  • First time (I think) that someone referred to her as "Joelle" instead of JoJo...and more than once...this must be serious
  • No doubts about his feelings...he said he loved her on many occasions
  • She trusts him and believes him 100% and she knows she loves him, and she's ready to be intimate with him
  • She used her experience with Ben to learn to not to tell him exactly how she is feeling - she's in love with him and she knows it, but she feels things for the other guys, so she isn't going to tell him 100% that he's the one

The Bachelorette, Ep. 12.8

Hometown Dates

Can this season just be over already? I don't think there has ever been a season that I was so disinterested in all the guys. Usually, there are at least a couple that I like. However, this season, right from the start I was just not impressed. Weeks later, I'm still not impressed. I kind of liked Derek and Wells, but that's been about it. These last 4 just don't do it for me. I can barely force myself to be excited for each episode anymore. Because I just can't wait for this season to be over, this recap is going to be pretty short - just the basics of each visit. That's all that really matters at this point. We all know who she's picking, even if you haven't read the spoilers - it's that obvious.

Chase - Highlands Ranch, Colorado
  • His parents are separated - bad divorce - so they do everything separately, so she won't be meeting his parents together
  • She gets to see his house - she loved it
  • His dad stopped by his house and he asked his dad why his first marriage didn't work; his dad wants him to learn from his mistakes so it doesn't happen to him
  • Chase is sure that JoJo fits everything he is looking for and he wants to take the next step with her
  • Later they see the rest of his family - mom, step-dad, sister, baby nephew, etc.
  • Mom said she could tell that Chase liked her a lot (btw, she does not look like she is old enough to be Chase's mom!)
  • Chase doesn't want to be afraid to say the "l" word with JoJo anymore - he finally whispered it to her at the end of the night (exact words "I'm falling in love with you, JoJo")
  • This was a huge step for him because he doesn't use that word with anyone and has a hard time opening up

Jordan - Chico, California

  • He takes her to his old high school and they met his old coach and other teachers; they made out in the library (how inappropriate!)
  • He avoided looking at pictures and talking about his brother, Aaron - she pushed him to talk a little more, but he still kind of avoided it at all cost
  • She's nervous to meet his family because he hasn't brought a lot of girls home and it has been a couple years since the last one
  • She met his mom and dad, his brother, Luke and his girlfriend
  • At dinner, the family shared embarrassing stories about him
  • JoJo asked Luke about Aaron and he said it hurts them all to talk about the situation - all VERY vague; he was impressed that Jordan would talk about it at all, so he must be serious about her
  • She loved his family and she is falling in love with him (no duh)
  • His mom said he was glowing and looked so happy; she couldn't believe that he might actually end up engaged
  • He said, "I am in love with you." She said she is still scared and she's worried that at the end of this if he will really want this forever. He says it now, but she's not sure. She doesn't want what happened with Ben to happen again. She wants to tell him that she loves him too.
Robby - St. Augustine, Florida
  • Robby told her to whistle, and up pulls a horse and carriage to take them on a tour of the city
  • She expressed concerns again about how quickly his most recent, very long-term relationship ended and he told her that he loved her so quickly - she didn't want to fill a void that he is trying to fill after the last relationship; he assured her that that's in his past and will never be an issue
  • He can't see anything that could possibly go wrong with her meeting his family and he is so incredibly happy and excited; he thinks she will love him even more after meeting and seeing him with his family
  • She met his mom and dad, 2 sisters and 2 brothers
  • His family loved her and felt their connection
  • First impression - both of his brothers are more attractive than he is and more likable
  • JoJo told his mom that she misses him when she's not with him and she loves how in touch he is with his emotions
  • JoJo brought up his ex with his mom to get her thoughts - she said if Robby thinks she is the one, he will go all in with no regrets
  • JoJo told his mom that she was falling in love with him and she is only more sure of that now that she spent the day with him and his family
  • His mom drops a bombshell on him - his ex's roommate made it look like he broke up with his girlfriend to go on the show and it's becoming an issue; he got really worried because JoJo was already worried about this and he doesn't want this to be the thing that doesn't make it work with JoJo
  • He had to talk to JoJo right away to nip it in the bud before it became even more of an issue
  • JoJo wondered what his ex's roommate would have to gain by saying something that wasn't true. She pushed and pushed him to make sure he was 100% telling the truth. He said he was and he doesn't know why she would be saying that. He says he did not break up with his ex when he found out he was coming on the show. He said his relationship with Hope was over 9 months before it actually ended, and he just couldn't end it. Their last fight, she slapped him and he will never talk to her again.
  • She said she wouldn't lie to him, she doesn't know what she's going to do, but she eventually told him that she trusted him
Luke - Burnet, Texas
  • She met a TON of people! Mom, dad, sister, and about 50 friends
  • I think this is the most we've ever seen Luke smile - possibly more this episode than all the others combined
  • He had a very sweet and emotional talk with his dad - awe!
  • Luke had a surprise for JoJo - they went horseback riding  to a quiet place in a field with some bales and blankets
  • JoJo said Luke is the one guy that she has undeniable chemistry with (I would actually say she pretty much has good chemistry with everyone)
  • He said he sees a future with her which is scary, and that's how he knows it's real
  • She actually got a little emotional when she had to say goodbye to him
  • One more surprise: he had some lights making a path to a big heart and he led her "his heart" and he told her that his heart is hers and it's out there for her
  • OK, starting to get a little bit #TeamLuke here - not gonna lie, that made me cry! I think his case was definitely just made for being the next Bachelor
Rose Ceremony
Luke interrupts her before she hands out the first rose. He said that after she left that night, he wanted to make sure that she knew where he stood and he didn't know if he said the right things. He said he felt like after she left that he didn't really say that he was in love with her and that's been on his mind. He wanted her to know that he was in love with her.  He said he doesn't know what she felt that night. She said what he said is what she has been waiting to hear from him. He hoped that it wasn't too late. She walked away not knowing what to do because that changes things. She wanted him to say those things, but is it too late? Um...she couldn't figure that out by that huge heart gesture he made? Maybe he didn't specifically say the words, but actions speak louder than words. She's now afraid that she's going to make a mistake and that scares her. She walked off sick to her stomach, crying hysterically, asking what she should do...to no one.

And then...a terrible..."to be continued"...UGH!

The Bachelorette, Ep. 12.7

1-on-1: Alex
He is stoked for his 1-on-1 because he is the only guy left who hasn't had one. He gets to ride to their next destination with JoJo, while the other guys pile into an old bus - none of them too happy about it. I don't know what it is with this group of guys - there aren't that many more musicians than other seasons - but they seem to really love to freestyle songs. Before it was a romantic "Jo - Jo, Jo - Jo, Jo - Jo" and this time the opted for a rap that made fun of Alex's height. I have to say that some of their rhymes were pretty clever. They think that JoJo would be having a lot more fun on the bus with them than on the 1-on-1 with Alex.

She is having fun with Alex, and is really comfortable with him...but she's still not sure about the romantic connection. Alex is starting to get bored and is having a hard time finding things to talk about.

Finally, they arrive at their destination on a ranch where they are going to be gauchos for the day. I'm already so bored by this date. Alex has to wear a very weird outfit. They ride some horses and try to hold hands. Alex tells her she looks like something out of a Ralph Lauren catalog and thinks there is a deeper meaning behind their horses liking each other so much.

A real gaucho does some horse whispering and he has the horse laying on its back and he's rubbing it all over like he's giving it a massage. The horse is like totally hypnotized. The gaucho then has them both just lay on the horse. They are rubbing the horse...rubbing each other...it's a lot of rubbing and it's kind of awkward to watch, but they seem to be enjoying it. They feel so connected with the horse and somehow more connected to each other.

Alex said he was starting to fall in love with JoJo - and he knew it as soon as he saw her for the first time. She was blown away and didn't know how to react. He has not been that open and expressive with her before. She said unfortunately, she doesn't feel as excited as she should be to hear him saying that he's falling in love with her. She doesn't feel like in her heart that she will get to the same point that he is now. That means that she needs to send him home now, even though there is no rose on the date. She doesn't think it's fair to make him wait around for the Rose Ceremony, out of respect for him. He didn't expect that to happen since there was no rose at the date. Well, blame Chris Harrison for that one. He specifically told the guys who get a 1-on-1 date that they don't have to worry, there's no pressure of a rose on the date. She felt horrible because she doesn't think he was seeing that she did what she did to respect him and his feelings.

1-on-1: Jordan

The Bachelorette, Ep. 12.6

Buenos Aires, Argentina

1-on-1 Date: Wells - "Besame, besame, muchacho"

Wells tells the group that he is the only guy who has not kissed JoJo yet. The guys are stunned. "Besame" means "kiss me" in Spanish, so clearly JoJo is giving him the green light. Clearly, the pressure is on. They all think that if this doesn't go well, he will be going home.

She takes him to a theater where there are people dancing in water above them.He thought he might kiss her, but the girls in the water above him were kind of ruining the moment. Opportunity #1: fail. Right before they give it a try, he awkwardly tries to high five her or hit her shoulder or something (not sure what) and then leans in awkwardly the wrong way and they have a half kiss on the cheek. Opportunity #2: fail.

As they are rolling around in the water and she is just waiting for him to make a move. Finally, he goes for it. She yells at him "That was the moment, Wells! We did it!" Opportunity #3: SUCCESS!

In the evening portion of the date, she grills him about his past relationships. He sweated it out - literally. He said they both decided that they were just better as friends and their love fizzled out. JoJo thinks this is weird to hear him say that because that's kind of what's happened to her.

Wells seems kind of skeptical of finding true love. JoJo is a big believer and she's not sure if she can invest time in someone who might not feel the same way. She told him that they have built a really great friendship, but things haven't felt 100% like she wanted them to. So, she decided not to give him the rose. It was a really tough decision for her.

The guys are stunned when Wells' bags were taken away.

Group Date: Luke, Alex, James, Jordan, Robby - "Living la vida boca"

The Bachelorette, Ep. 12.5

We pick up right where we left off 2 weeks ago. Chad just got dumped on the 2-on-1 and ALL of the guys are ecstatic, to say the least. They are so happy he is gone that they bring out the guitar and have "funeral" for him. They took his protein powder and sprinkled it into the air as they said farewell to the person they hated the most in this world. Meanwhile, Chad with his creepy whistle is on his way back to the house, in an unprecedented move for the show. He makes his way to the glass door, where he knocks and everyone looks like they've never seen someone at the door before. He proceeds to wipe his hands the whole way down the glass until someone lets him in. They don't know what to do, so they awkwardly ask how his date went. He said Alex talked about him the whole time. He said when you are backed into the corner, sometimes you have to do things that aren't pretty. Jordan apologized for not seeing things the way he does and hoped that Chad would apologize as well. Chad said he will say what he wants to say when he wants to say it. He said they all pushed him into each situation where he had to say things he didn't want to. Jordan grabbed his hand to shake it, and Chad starting squeezing really hard and held on for a very long time. Jordan tried to clear the air and shake his hand again, and Chad slapped it away. Insults started flying, and Evan goes and tries to poke the Chad bear again. He asked if he had his wallet on him because he still owed him money for the shirt he ripped. Chad couldn't believe he was still asking about that and wondered if he was really that poor that he needed the money that badly. Jordan told everyone to just stop and leave the room because Chad was not supposed to be there anymore so they didn't need to really talk to him anymore.

Alex comes back to a huge cheer and the hoist him up on their shoulders and hailed him as a hero. They had a cake that they smashed all over his face and head and they had a huge flare - inside the house - which was quite odd and a pretty big safety hazard.

Cocktail Party

The Bachelorette, Ep. 12.4

...Continued...
We pick up right where we left off last night. Chris basically told Chad that he should go politely apologize and make nice with the guys, and especially Evan. The guys are ecstatic because they think Chad is being sent home. They are wrong. He walks in and said he doesn't have an issue with anyone in the house and he wants Evan to just leave him alone. Evan said he owes him a new shirt and an apology. He said he would give him $20. He continued to say that Evan pushed him and not the other way around. Chad said everyone should feel comfortable because he hasn't gone out of his way to fight with anyone. He pretty much just put all the blame on Evan for picking on him. Evan was perplexed, and rightly so.

Pool Party
Chad is the first to greet her at the door, basically before she even got to the door. She is hoping that everyone will relax and have fun. The drinks come out, so you know this is probably going to go south pretty quickly. The chicken fights start, and then a synchronized swimming routine that caused Evan to come out of the water bleeding. JoJo immediately (jokingly) asked if Chad did it. Ha!

She spent a lot of time with Jordan. He said something changed after their group date but in a good way. She said she gets nervous around him and she just wants to know more about him. She is worried that things are too good, too soon. He said it's not an act (hint: it might be an act).

Robby said things are happening a lot faster than he thought it would.

Meanwhile, Chad is pigging out by the pool...again. JoJo is surprised that Chad seems very calm and he's keeping to himself. She said she isn't seeing the negative side. She asked if things were getting better between him and the other guys. He said it was never that bad (yeah right). He said when they are all just chilling, things are fine. The problems start happening when she's around. Ummm...that didn't sound very good. She brought up the weirdness after she gave Evan the rose. He said he was kind of joking, but he seriously wondered that if she was interested in Evan, then what is he doing there because they are complete opposites. Good question. We don't really get an answer, as Evan continues to poke the bear and comes in and interrupts. [UPDATE: I totally wrote that before they showed up in Pennsylvania where the bear was shown roaming and Chad himself said the guys were poking the "Chad bear" lol!] Chad doesn't really say much and leaves. She told Evan that Chad said things were good and he seemed fine. He said he's not scared of him.

The Bachelorette, Ep. 12.3

It's the guys vs. Chad. The house is a wreck after the Rose Ceremony and everyone is on edge because Chad and Daniel are both still there. They hate everything about them. They hate how much food they eat, how much they talk about their bodies and working out, pretty much just them breathing. Evan laughs as Chad and Daniel communicate by grunts as they are working out together.

1-on-1 Date: Chase - "Let's get physical."
A similar date to one in the past - hot yoga. She wanted the date with him because he didn't get a date last week. This date will be a first for both of them. They walk in and it is literally 100°F. The instructor asks them how long they've been intimate. And...already super awkward. They get started, and the gyrating and vocal moaning...yeah, super awkward. None of what they are doing looks anything like yoga. They are having an "anger-gasm" by shaking and screaming. JoJo said she wants to die because she is so embarrassed. They finally get to some yoga poses. And now it gets super "intimate" as she is sitting on top of him, looking deeply into his eyes. He looks like he wants to kiss her. And there it is! He went for it.

Later, she talked about how much fun he made the day for her. She said she felt connected to him during their yoga session. She said he made her feel safe and protected and very comfortable even though it was uncomfortable at times. He opened up about his parents divorcing when he was younger. This has helped him to realize that getting married, to him, is a "one and done" situation. She wondered if this situation is too fast for him. He said initially he thought it might be, but if everything feels right and they have enough love to overcome the fear, then why not. He's got some really good answers, and he seems really well-spoken. She told him that she is excited about him, and she offers him the rose.

One last surprise...let me guess...a private concert? Wow, how in the world did I guess that? No clue who this is. Oh, it's Charles Kelley from Lady Antebellum, or as I know him - Josh Kelley's brother.

The Bachelorette, Ep. 12.2

To start off the episode, one of the guys says he thinks all the guys are great and no one is a real jerk. Oh, just you wait and see buddy. Cut to Chad making a toast that he rhymed: "To a beautiful girl and a beautiful life, f*** you guys, I'm gonna make her my wife." Definitely setting the tone for what is to come from Chad. He thinks he has no competition and can beat all of these guys at everything. He thinks that they have never dated someone of JoJo's caliber.

After the names are read for the first group date, he thinks this is JoJo's "B Team". Once she has a date with these losers and then goes on a date with him, she'll see how great he is and forget all about them. Later, he shows off in front of the guys by going outside and strapping his luggage onto his waist with a weight belt and proceeds to do chin-ups. While the group was on their date, the rest of the guys write a song for JoJo that basically was only just repeating her name over and over again. Chad thought it was kind of ridiculous that all the guys are so obsessed with JoJo already and he refused to participate. Chad and Daniel bond over thinking the same things about all these "nice guys".

Group Date: Luke, Grant, Will, Evan, Daniel, Vinny, Ali, James F., Wells, Robby - "Let's heat things up"

The Bachelorette, Ep. 12.1

I gotta say, I'm usually excited at the beginning of a new season, but I can't say that I'm super excited about JoJo being the Bachelorette. And have you seen the guys she has to pick from? I hate to be superficial, but I sure hope they all look a lot better than their bio pictures...because come on...those pictures were not doing anyone any favors. The bios and spoilers for all of these guys leave a lot to be desired. But let's face it...we're here for the drama, anyway!

JoJo's story recap: she came out of the limo wearing a unicorn head; she fell in love and so did Ben; she didn't want to be blindsided, and he promised her she wouldn't be - but, he fell in love with someone else more and she felt blindsided.

Here come the limos..."Bring on the men!"

The Bachelorette, Ep. 11.11: Finale & After the Final Rose

Let's just get this over with, and watch Nick completely get blindsided for the 2nd time in a row!

Kaitlyn with her Family
Kaitlyn warns her family that her final 2 hate each other. She admits that she messed up and it involved her final 2. She then said that Nick was one of the final 2 and her mom couldn't believe it. Kaitlyn said she has to forget what she thinks about Nick from Andi's season and she didn't know if she could.

Nick - Family Meeting
Kaitlyn told Nick that she told her family about going too far with him in Dublin. He couldn't believe that she told them that. He's got a lot of room to talk...

Her mom's first question to Nick was "Why are you here?". Starting off with the tough ones! He said he could think of a lot of reasons why he shouldn't do it, but he didn't want her to be with someone else. He said last time he went on the show to see if he could find love, but this time he came for Kaitlyn. He told her that she could send him home at any point.

Kaitlyn's mom talked to him alone and she was honest and told him that watching him last season, she thought he was possessive, jealous and even arrogant. He said he didn't come for a second chance on the show, he came specifically for him and he's not surprised to be in the final 2. He said he was in love with Kaitlyn and if she would have him that he would be with her forever. He started crying, her mom started crying. He asked if she would be OK with that and she said before she met him she wouldn't have been. But, now that she's met him, if he makes Kaitlyn happy that would make her happy. Him being emotional showed a completely different side of him for her and she admitted she was wrong to judge him before meeting him.

Nick then talked to Kaitlyn's dad and he shared all of the things he loved about Kaitlyn and he said that he fully expected to propose and was hoping to have his blessing. Her dad said he gets a good feeling about him and he gave him his blessing.

Nick feels confident, but he doesn't know what her relationship is with Shawn. He said it's hard to imagine her having a connection with him like what he has with her.

Shawn - Family Meeting

The Bachelorette, Ep.11.10: Men Tell All

...and I'm back! Sorry about the absence over the last week, I was on vacation and not able to watch any of my shows. I'm trying my best to get caught up, so here's my rather speedy recap of the "Men Tell All" episode. I'm hoping to keep this brief so it doesn't take too long to do because we have the finale and the "After The Final Rose" coming up tonight. It's going to be a long night!

We start out with some video clips from the season. Who could forget Ryan M. and the not-so-good impression he left with everyone on the first night. And then there's the bromance with JJ and Clint. Of course, we recap the entrance of Nick and the fact that everyone hates him and the ego of Ian.

As soon as the video clips ended, Tanner attacked Ian for calling them all lame and the fact that he didn't associate with the rest of the guys and give them a chance. They said his exit was despicable and he needs to give Kaitlyn an apology. Corey said he didn't agree with the way that Ian approached her, but some of the stuff that he brought up were spot-on. The guys who got to know her more disagreed and said he didn't get to know her well enough. Ian decided to take off his jacket and he got in front of them all and got down on one knee and apologized for things that he said and he regretted the way he left and the way he made Kaitlyn feel. Everyone was really confused as to why he got down on one knee to apologize because that's just so weird? They asked if he was proposing...lol! Several of them came down to shake his hand and accept his apology. I think he seemed sincere, but the getting down on one knee was just weird and over-the-top.

Corey called out Clint for totally changed his tune after his date with Kaitlyn. He (and JJ) got very arrogant and wouldn't even talk to them. Clint made it clear that he is not gay and he was there for Kaitlyn the whole time. He came on the show to find love and he developed a strong friendship with JJ because he wanted to spend time with people he finds interesting. JJ said that everything that was being said about Clint could, and should, also be said about him. That's what I have been saying from the very beginning! I don't know why JJ got off so easy when they both were doing and saying the same things. JJ said that he and Clint were so mutually intellectually curious about each other and they went way beyond surface-level stuff...and for him there was a lot of "meat to that". OK, JJ, just stop talking because the more you talk, the worse things look for you whether you are truly meaning what you are saying or not. He just is not explaining this well at all...it just sounds way too gross. The looks on the guys' faces were priceless. Kupah said they didn't need to know how deep their relationship was ever again. Somehow Kupah used that to segue into Nick coming on the show part way through when some of them were there from the beginning and have lost their jobs. That was a very strange rabbit trail to deviate to based on what they were talking to JJ about. JJ said he thnks it was right for her to let Nick on to give herself a chance to see what things with Nick would be like and he thinks she did the right thing. Clint said that the guys let their hatred for Nick got in the way of their relationship with Kaitlyn. Kupah said she should have left the show to pursue things with Nick if she felt so strongly about him because it wasn't fair to the other guys that she was obviously thinking about Nick and the previous relationship that she had with him. Joshua said her big mistake was telling the guys from the get-go that she saw her husband in that room...and then she lets an outsider come in.

JJ - Hotseat

The Bachelorette, Ep. 11.9

The Confrontation Continues
We left off with Shawn confronting Nick. We all know this is not going to end well, right?

Well, that was pretty anti-climactic, wasn't it? We really only saw the same thing as last week. The only new thing was Nick bringing up the Eskimo brother thing. Shawn didn't deny it and just said how horrible he is to bring stuff like that up, and then he left.

Ben's Overnight Date
The go for a horse ride. They both talked to their horses...it was cute! And oh look, donkeys! They're so furry! Now they are chasing them down the hill and attacking Ben, oh my!

They ride to a castle for a picnic.  He said over the last few weeks he's started falling in love with her and he realized that it wasn't just the situation. The more he talks, the more I keep thinking that he is way too good for her and he deserves so much more. It's apparent that I seriously have a thing for him :)

She tells Ben that they are going to be having dinner inside the castle, and if all goes as planned (for her) they will be spending the night in the castle.

Kaitlyn said she can see a future with Ben and she thinks it would be a fun life.

Ben drops a bomb...he said he had a birthday on the show...he turned 26. She was shocked, as she realized that she's older than him (30). She said age wasn't an issue. He told her that she is the hottest older woman he's ever seen.

She looks so happy with him. He makes her smile, she makes him smile.

The Fantasy Suite card comes out. She said this is a big deal for her, but she wants to make sure that he is 100% sure about everything. He said they've never talked about this or any of the other people involved because he's confident in what they have. He said it would be super exciting, and he said it would be the best sleepover ever.

After their night together, she said she's more confused than ever because she had a great time with him. She didn't want to say goodbye to him.

Shawn's Overnight Date

Monday, July 6, 2015

The Bachelorette, Ep. 11.8

So, last week, we said goodbye to Chris (aka Cupcake). There are still 5 guys left: Shawn, Nick, Ben H., Joe, and Jared. By the end of the night, we should have the final 3, who will then go on overnight dates with Kaitlyn. And who knows, we might even be down to the final 2...their weird continued episodes have really thrown the normal schedule out of whack.

1-on-1 Date: Ben
Yay, Ben! Can't wait to see more of him :) He is just too adorable! I would love to see him as the next Bachelor...just sayin'. He can tell that she's still upset about letting Chris go on her last date.

They go for a paddle boat ride and then play hide-and-seek in some ancient ruins. She is the most horrible liar ever because she started laughing. So now we know that she makes a horrible dead person and a horrible liar.

She told him that he seems like husband material. She said being with him just feels good and feels right. He also thinks something good is happening between them, so he wants to be open and vulnerable, even though he feels he could get hurt. He tells her about being in love with his last girlfriend, and after that ended, his biggest fear is not being loved back and being unlovable. She said that blows her mind because she thinks he is totally a lovable person. She said she could be, and is, falling in love with him. He said he has zero doubts that he's falling in love with her too. He said she reinforces the fact that she would be there for him and be supportive of him.

She asked him what his thoughts were about the overnight date. He said he knows the emphasis is always on the physical, and that's not what it's about for him (yay Ben...I knew I loved you!). He said he respects her views on it, but he can't wait to spend more time with her and more time getting to know her. Needless to say (knowing Kaitlyn's history on the show thus far) she was surprised to hear this. She now wonders if he's a virgin and flat-out just asks him. They had a big laugh over his reaction, but he said, no, he's not, but he appreciates that she sees him as sweet and innocent. They kiss, and then she really ruins the moment and asks him about when he lost his virginity. Man, she is really obsessed with sex, isn't she?

3-on-1 Date: Joe, Nick, Shawn

Monday, June 29, 2015

The Bachelorette, Ep. 11.7

Continued from last week...Shawn's visit with Kaitlyn in her hotel room...

She told him that he's freaking her out. He flat out asked her if she was in love with him. She said she was "falling in love" with him. She asked him why he was upset. He said he was falling in love with her and it was hard to see her going off with other guys and then after they had a great conversation and things were getting serious, she gives the group date rose to someone else. He said he was really having a hard time and he didn't know if he could do this. He was almost in tears as she tried to convince him to stay. She is still worried that he knows about her being intimate with Nick and she feels really guilty. She isn't guilty about what she did with Nick, she was guilty about the relationships with the other guys. She doesn't want to hurt them by what she did.

2-on-1 Date: Boat ride around Ireland - JJ and Joe

The Bachelorette, Ep. 11.6

Ian's Confrontation Continued...
Last week we left off with Ian totally blowing up at Kaitlyn and him letting her know EXACTLY what he thinks of her.

She asked him if he was saying that she wasn't there to find a husband and he said from what he's seen, he doesn't think she is. She told him that her blood was boiling and she was super offended. She couldn't believe that he was calling her shallow and "surface level". She said there is much more to her that he hasn't seen. She was disappointed by the way he approached things. They both agreed that he didn't belong there and he said he would be leaving. She asked if he felt good about that, and he just got up and walked out. To the cameras he said that he is too deep and too complex of a thinker and he doesn't belong there with those other guys. He said he was being punished for being too intellectual. He was so tired of talking about farts, bowel movements, and sex, and he missed having real conversations about life with people. Then he stroked his ego again and said he fully expects to be the Bachelor and he expects to find love on this show. He said the girls would come out of the woodwork wanting to go out with him. Then, in a twist of irony, he said "man, I really need to have some sex". So much for not talking about it. He's absolutely dreaming if he thinks they are going to make him the Bachelor. Not going to happen.

And of course, who comes to her rescue: Nick. He said that he and Ian had a conversation with each other the other day. He told Ian not to be accusatory when he talks to her. He said he told Ian that he wouldn't have come to meet Kaitlyn if he didn't think she was capable of being a great person. Of course he said all the right things and all the things that she wanted to hear in that moment. Then the guys realized that Nick was missing, he had a rose already, and now he's taking up their time again. Joshua is worried that he's not going to have a chance to talk to her to fix the horrible mess he's gotten himself into. Shawn decided to go talk to her, but found her kissing Nick which really upset him.

Rose Ceremony Eliminations (2 but 3 total): Joshua, Justin (plus Ian who walked out)
Remaining Guys (9): Ben H, Ben Z, Chris, Jared, JJ, Joe, Nick, Shawn, Tanner

And there are off to Dublin, Ireland.

The Bachelorette, Ep. 11.5

Continuation: Nick Joins the Guys
Let's just start off by saying that the guys are not thrilled that Nick is crashing their party, and it would be a huge understatement to say that they all hate his guts.

He waltzes in the room like he owns the place. He said he's not there to create drama and he wants to get to know Kaitlyn more. The guys asked him some questions trying to figure out if he's there for her or if he's just in it for a few more minutes of fame. They said they heard he was hanging out with Andi again, and now he's jumping after another Bachelorette. Joshua said he already had his season, and wonders why he would come back for a "cool chick", as Nick called her. Nick continually said that he just "wanted to meet this girl" because he really enjoyed what little conversations they've had together. He said he wants them to respect why he's there.

Cocktail Party
JJ took Kaitlyn out on the ball field and proceeded to pick her up and run and carry her around all the bases...whoop-de-do. Barf.

Tanner told Kaitlyn that Nick didn't really answer their question as to why he was hanging out with Andi instead of pursuing Kaitlyn. You could tell that Kaitlyn wasn't thrilled with that.

Joshua told Kaitlyn that what he knows about Nick is not good.

Shawn refuses to even say Nick's name. He let her know that Nick coming in the house is causing him to put his guard back up again. She tried to encourage him that Nick being there doesn't take anything away from what they have and that she has a strong connection. He told her that he Nick is full of shit - 110%. She asked him if he trusted her and he said he doesn't know if her actions are matching what she is saying.

Rose Ceremony Eliminations (3): Corey, Jonathan, Ryan
Remaining Guys: Ben H, Ben Z, Chris, Ian, Jared, JJ, Joe, Joshua, Justin, Nick, Shawn, Tanner

And they're off to San Antonio, Texas...

The Bachelorette, Ep. 11.4

The Sh** is Going to Hit the Fan...
Continued from last week, we start off right off the bat with Kaitlyn getting ready to let Clint have it. She had just been told by all 13 of the other guys that Clint was not there for the right reasons. My question is: why is JJ getting off scott-free...he's doing just about the exact same thing as Clint. So here we go for the play-by-play...

She pulls him aside, and everyone know that this isn't good. He said there are people in the house that are "very, very, very jealous," but he and JJ have become "like best, best, best friends." "We have grown very, very, very close." Man, he sure does like the word very, doesn't he? She cut him off and said that JJ does speak very highly of him, but it's not about JJ. She said that everyone else is saying that he is one way with her and another way with the rest of the guys. He said they are jealous, and she said he's just being argumentative. She said he has been backpedaling and he looked dumbfounded. She said they are moving backwards all the time, and here he is just talking about JJ and not about them. He said she could ask any one of the guys and they wouldn't say anything bad about him. he said he's never said anything mean about the guys or to the guys and has been nothing but kind to them all. She obviously knew that wasn't the case. She just rolled her eyes, and let out a couple huge sighs as she tried to decide what to say to him. He said he's been 100% honest with her and that scares him...and now he's laying it on thick trying to save himself. He said he would do whatever it takes to overcome this. She said she is upset because she really, really, really liked him (so I guess her favorite word is "really", either that or she's listened to Carly Rae Jepson's song "I Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Like You" too many times. He said, so what, you're done with me? She said she was done and she didn't trust him, and he thought it was insane. She said her gut was telling her that he wasn't her husband.

Her and Clint joined the guys and he immediately wanted to know who said that he was bad mouthing her. She told the guys that she was going to ask him to leave. JJ looked devastated.

JJ spoke up and said "you should probably say 'sorry' to all of us right now." He said he thought that he was taking an emotional energy away from everyone. What?! Who is he Tony? That was just bizarre. I thought he was talking to Kaitlyn, but he was talking to JJ! And just like THAT, the bromance is over! Just seconds earlier, JJ said that it goes without saying, that whatever happens he would still be friends with Clint, and he would probably know him for the rest of his life. So, was this just JJ trying to save himself at this point? He sees Clint is a sinking ship and he wants to distance himself from him and not go down with him?

JJ followed Clint out and said he probably said some things in the heat of the moment because he was frustrated and said it was hard for him. JJ said the guys were coming after him too and they would probably be in the same limo going home (I wish). They went back and forth about how they each told each other stuff that no one else knows. Clint went off on him and told him to get away from him. He went in there hoping JJ would stand up for him. Clint said he was about to lose his cool and he was not OK with that. Clint walks out with one last jab at JJ: "that tie looks really great with that shirt, you  (bleep), you piece of sh**." Wow. Clint leaves in the limo, and JJ wipes a little tear from his eye and heads to the bathroom. He couldn't even do an interview...he got up, walked to the bushes, bent over and sobbed...over a GUY! Yes, people, that's a first. Thanks ABC for those amplified sniffles, that was totally necessary.

JJ doing what he did just confirmed to Kaitlyn that she did the right thing. No Kaitlyn, the right thing to do was to send them both home.

The guys couldn't believe what JJ did to Clint. As much as they hate Clint, they hate JJ more because he threw his best friend under the bus. Jared said their break-up was the worst break-up in the history of The Bachelor or The Bachelorette. Their relationship with each other was obviously more important than their relationship with Kaitlyn.

Kaitlyn said her mind wasn't made up at this point and she pulls Chris aside. She tells him that she doesn't think they should have a Rose Ceremony. Keep in mind, 2 people left this week: Tony left on his own and she sent Clint home. So, even though there was no Rose Ceremony, the numbers have still dwindled. She told the guys that she feels too good about the guys that are left, and JJ wiped away another tear. The guys weren't immediately excited because they were hoping that JJ would be going home.

Chris tells the group that they are all leaving for New York City.

Oh, and can we just talk about the fact that Jared finally shaved his patchy facial hair?!? If this wasn't filmed months ago, I would say he must have read my blog :) Thank you Jared! Much improved!

Remaining Guys: Ben H, Ben Z, Chris, Corey, Ian, Jared, JJ, Joe, Jonathan, Joshua, Justin, Ryan, Shawn, Tanner
