1-on-1 Date: Ben
Yay, Ben! Can't wait to see more of him :) He is just too adorable! I would love to see him as the next Bachelor...just sayin'. He can tell that she's still upset about letting Chris go on her last date.
They go for a paddle boat ride and then play hide-and-seek in some ancient ruins. She is the most horrible liar ever because she started laughing. So now we know that she makes a horrible dead person and a horrible liar.
She told him that he seems like husband material. She said being with him just feels good and feels right. He also thinks something good is happening between them, so he wants to be open and vulnerable, even though he feels he could get hurt. He tells her about being in love with his last girlfriend, and after that ended, his biggest fear is not being loved back and being unlovable. She said that blows her mind because she thinks he is totally a lovable person. She said she could be, and is, falling in love with him. He said he has zero doubts that he's falling in love with her too. He said she reinforces the fact that she would be there for him and be supportive of him.
She asked him what his thoughts were about the overnight date. He said he knows the emphasis is always on the physical, and that's not what it's about for him (yay Ben...I knew I loved you!). He said he respects her views on it, but he can't wait to spend more time with her and more time getting to know her. Needless to say (knowing Kaitlyn's history on the show thus far) she was surprised to hear this. She now wonders if he's a virgin and flat-out just asks him. They had a big laugh over his reaction, but he said, no, he's not, but he appreciates that she sees him as sweet and innocent. They kiss, and then she really ruins the moment and asks him about when he lost his virginity. Man, she is really obsessed with sex, isn't she?
3-on-1 Date: Joe, Nick, Shawn
Shawn wants to talk to Kaitlyn first...of course because he's so needy! He said he was looking forward to getting things back on track after she had told him that they should slow things down. All it took was one kiss for him to feel all better.
She is worried because she knows she needs to tell him about Nick. It won't be easy, and she knows he has issues with trust, so yeah, this probably isn't going to go well. She wasn't sure how to bring it up. But, never fear, Nick is here! Nick totally swoops in and kicks Shawn to the curb.
She asks Nick how he feels about what happened after their date. He said "um...I feel good about it?". Didn't they already have this conversation? He said that she knows how he feels about her, and she said "you can still say it". Like a child, he covers his mouth and slurs what sounded like "I'm in love with you." What an idiot. I'm sorry, but there is nothing about this guy worth liking.
Next up is Joe. She asks him if he's ready to be engaged and he said he was. Then he basically stuck his whole tongue down her throat. He said a lot of really sweet things, including that he loves her, and she just stared at him, silently. Clearly, something was on her mind...we all know what it was...he has no clue. She said they had a great date last week and it was huge for them. She knows that he has been totally honest with her and she wants to be brutally honest with him. When he tells her that she loves him, it makes her think that they aren't on the same page. She said she doesn't feel like she's "there" right now. She can't imagine saying goodbye to him. She is glad that he opened up and told her how he felt because she needed to know how he felt. She asked if he was upset and he said no. She said she was, and he asked why she was. She said it doesn't take away from what they had. He was visibly really shaken and couldn't really even look at her. She asked if she could have a hug and he smugly said "I guess".He said it's been fun and wondered what he was supposed to do. She told him to do whatever he had to do. Thanks Kaitlyn, that was a big help. The longer he stayed the more upset he got. She said she just wanted to hug him and say goodbye and he said he didn't have sh** to say to her. Without another word, Kaitlyn just stormed off, leaving yet another guy all by himself. This really has been a theme this season, hasn't it?
Kaitlyn rejoined Shawn and Nick. She told them that he told her that he loved her and she wasn't feeling the same thing, so she didn't feel like making him go through a Rose Ceremony. They both respected her choice. With a rose to give out on this date, she gives it to..no one. She said she didn't feel right about handing it out now. That's probably the smartest thing she's done all season. These guys hate each other and it wasn't going to be pretty no matter who she gave it to. She told Nick that they had a great conversation and she appreciates his openness and honesty, and she said that her and Shawn need "more time". Obviously about "you know what". That oughta knock Nick down a few pegs on his security level. As much as Shawn wanted the rose, he was ecstatic that Nick didn't get it, and he's so happy to spend more time with her.
Back at the hotel, Nick of course dishes on what happened on their date. He said she sent him back to the hotel and is spending more time with Shawn, "whatever that means". It's so funny that whenever they show Nick talking to the other guys, he is just talking non-stop and no one else says a word.
The time is coming where she's finally got to come out with it. Shawn knows she wants to tell her something, because, let's be honest, she can hide nothing. She feels sick knowing what she has to tell him and worrying about what he's going to think.
She didn't even know where to begin, and Shawn was getting nervous. She told him that she wants to be honest with him because she knows trust is big with him. She said she hasn't talked about this with anyone else, and she didn't want him to hear it from anyone else. She told him about the date with Nick and she said afterward, she thinks it went too far. She said it was hard for her to admit it, but they had sex. He was really hurt, he and was fighting back tears. I actually think if she had told him it was with anyone else, sure, he would have been hurt, but because it was with a guy he hates and hasn't liked since the second he showed up, just made it so much worse. When he was finally able to speak, he asked her if she regretted it. She said she felt guilt and she couldn't stop thinking about what it was going to do to their relationship. He tried to figure out why she was telling this to him right now. She said she thought it was the right thing to do. He said he needed a minute to regroup and then he would come back to talk to her more. This is definitely a Bachelorette/Bachelor first here folks. When he finally came back, he thanked her for her honesty. He said he was upset because he had told her that he was falling in love with her, and he has already expressed what he thinks about Nick. He didn't want to say any more about him because it wasn't about him. He said he is there for her and he's going to man-up and try to get past it. He said he wasn't going to storm out and leave because she's worth it for him to stay to be with her. He didn't want to let what happened ruin their future together. If I was her, I would be rejoicing right now, because that was like the perfect response. But...she kind of just sat there and stared at him like she usually does. I'm honestly a little surprised by his reaction because I expected him to take it a lot harder and have a meltdown, wondering if he should stay.
When Shawn returned, he couldn't talk about what happened because he wanted to keep that between him and Kaitlyn (unlike someone else we know). He said he thought their time went good and he feels good about their conversation and where their relationship is. Nick of course has to chime in and say he feels "oddly confident" about where he stands too. He doesn't know if it is how Shawn is feeling or not. He assumed that Shawn would have gotten a rose because there was one sitting there when he left. He doesn't know why she chose not to give one to him...I see what he's doing there...playing some mind games on good old impressionable Shawn. Shawn's last look didn't look so confident now.
Pre-Rose Ceremony
Jared is looking forward to seeing Kaitlyn and talking to her because since his 1-on-1 4 days ago, he hasn't gotten to see her. He wants to make sure she knows how he's feeling. Of course, who butts in with "of course I'd like to spend some more time with her too"...yep, you guessed it, Nick. Does that guy ever stop talking? Can he not just sit there quietly and mind his own business for once? Seriously dude, no one wants to hear what you have to say. You saw her YESTERDAY, so shut up!
Shawn said he needs to talk to Kaitlyn before he accepts the rose. He has more questions for her. He thought she valued what he thought, but if she did then Nick wouldn't still be there.
Chris Harrison comes in and gives the guys the bad news...Kaitlyn's mind is made up and they won't get to talk to her before the Rose Ceremony.
Rose Ceremony
As she calls Shawn's name first, he tells her he needs to talk to her, and she freaks out. He said he did a lot of thinking and he had trouble sleeping. He understands that there are other relationships but he doesn't understand why it was with him. He brought up again the fact that she told him that he was the one, and he wanted to know why she would do something that could jeopardize that. She said she is there to explore other relationships. She said that telling him that he was the one half-way through was a mistake since there were other guys still left. She said she loves his honesty, but she needs to let her figure things out for herself (I'm guessing she's talking about Nick). She said she doesn't think that he trusts her. They come back out, she asks him again if he can accept the rose and he said "absolutely". So apparently whatever she said reassured him. Nick looked like he was going to wet himself...especially when she called Ben's name next.
Get Roses: Ben, Nick, Shawn
Going Home: Jared
Poor Jared. It sure sucks to see another good one go while Nick the douche stays. She told him that she can't believe some of the moments that they shared. He said it's never easy to say goodbye and told her that she's an amazing person. He hopes she finds the man of her dreams because she deserves it. She then bawled her eyes out on his shoulder, while he told it that it was OK.
She was so upset, I didn't know if she was going to be able to go back inside. She said she didn't have one bad thing to say about him. The only thing negative was that it wasn't going as fast as it was with the others and that was it.
OVERNIGHTS
Nick
He said it's been awhile since he's seen her and he wonders if they can continue where they left off. Really? Ugh, I hate this date already.
She is hoping to figure out if she sees a future with him or if it's nothing but passion.
They go into a church and he talks about all the religious things he knows from his childhood. She now thinks what they have isn't just physical, it's kind of spiritual. I think I'm going to gag. This leads right into Nick talking about the first time "touching privates"...again gag. And of course Kaitlyn's dirty side comes out again.
In a bar, some locals join their table and chat with them. Kaitlyn asks if any of them are married and what the trick is. A guy, married 36 years said "trust". For some reason, it looked like Nick felt a little uneasy...hmmm...does he have something to hide? He said "that makes sense". Well, duh! He said he does have insecurities and is hoping that she is falling in love with him as fast as he's falling in love with her.
At the end of the night, they end up in a highly decorated old jail.
Nick says he has something he needs to discuss with her and he wants to be open and honest and get this off of his chest. Oh dear, here we go. He said he is there for her and they had a great date. He said he knows this process and he knows coming into it late he knew he wouldn't be "one of the guys". He said he's gotten to know most of the guys now. He said he goes out of his way to see good in people and there is just "one guy that he has absolutely no respect for". He said he doesn't respect people who project insecurities and don't give people a chance. Then he went on to say that he doesn't respect people who brag about being Eskimo brothers with a famous country singer and banging the same girl at the same time (wait, what?). She said "ew". She said you're just going to brush on that? She didn't know who he was talking about and he said Shawn. She said no one has said anything negative about Shawn...all the negativity was about Nick. She didn't know why everyone has such bad things to say about him all the time, but not one person has said anything about Shawn. He said "it's the weirdest thing!" He said everyone talks about how Shawn is the frontrunner and they all seem OK with it. He said they all have some weird bromance. She said it's frustrating having this conversation with him right now. He said the silver lining of all this is that they are able to talk about things together. She kind of decides that both Nick and Shawn just want to be with her and it's causing them to just say bad things about each other.
Nick said that being there was the only thing keeping him breathing. Seriously? How cheesy is that?
The Fantasy Suite card comes out. She really didn't have to ask him what he thought about it did she? She said she had the key...one of many. They wandered through the jail and were freaked out by mannequins inside some of the jail cells. This place is just creepy, and about the least romantic place I can think of...it's perfect for her and Nick. So she opens the cell where they are supposedly staying and there is a dirty old mattress on the floor and some champagne. He lays down and she busts out laughing saying they aren't actually staying there. Haha good one...I guess. Nick, being the dirty guy he is said "I'll do this wherever." Ew...just gross...what a perv.
More Shawn and Nick Drama
Shawn calls the front desk of the hotel to find out what room Nick is staying in. He said he wanted to talk to him face to face and get it off his chest. He doesn't want to be the guy talking about him behind his back like some of the other guys. He said he doesn't think he is really only there for Kaitlyn. He said if she saw the same guy they all saw then someone else would be sitting where he is because a lot of good guys went home. Nick said Shawn has spent no time getting to know him. Shawn said it's because he doesn't want to - he's manipulative, he's just cocky. He said they are very different guys and if she picks him that he will know that they weren't meant to be and Nick said the same about him. Shawn thinks he's just oblivious to things and doesn't see how Nick can't understand why all the guys in his season hated him and the same with the guys this season.
It's obvious that they are never going to see eye to eye, and who knows...they might even get into a fight if this progresses.
