The Glass House, Ep. 10 The Finale

We start off with more of Erica talking about how much she loves Kevin, and Kevin saying how much he doesn't really care about her.

Kevin's plan: get Erica drunk so she'll start yelling at everyone. Mike likes this because the more she gets drunk, the better he looks. Plan=successful (so far).

Round and round they go...talking completely around and past each other. Neither one got anything out of their conversation. Kevin just cannot, even if his life depended it, tell Erica his true feelings without being ambiguous.

As a treat for the house, they have a graduation and roast each other. Way too many good zingers! Too bad they didn't do more of that kind of thing...it would have made the show better.

The results: Mike is out and Erica returns. She might just win this thing.

Next challenge is an individual challenge to see who goes to the final 3. Each one is hooked up to a harness and fly from one side to the other with puzzle pieces. I absolutely loved watching Jeffrey! Every leap, he had something funny that he screamed...too funny!

And Andrea comes out with the win! Jeffrey was close.

America voted and Erica is safe! Kevin and Jeffrey to the Limbo tubes--Jeffrey is out, which means Kevin is safe!

Final 3: Andrea, Erica, Kevin

Some last minute drama ensues over some clips of the remaining 3 when they didn't know the cameras were on them. Let's just say both Erica and Kevin didn't fair so well.

Live Finale: each player makes a final plea.

And the winner is...Kevin from Toledo!

The Glass House, Ep. 9

It's Kevin's birthday. Andrea writes him a nice letter and he also gets a special message from his daughter.

So, who is coming back to the house? Gene or Erica? Hoping it's Erica! No more Gene, please! Yes!!!! Welcome back Erica! And we're down to 5 players.

Whoa, Jeffrey got the cold shoulder and total "you do not exist" treatment from Erica for betraying her.

Loser this week with the fewest votes: Mike. Not really a surprise.

The 4 remaining houseguests must choose someone to win a trip and someone to compete in the Limbo challenge.

Jeffrey will face Mike (only because he voted for himself). Erica got the most votes for the trip.

Mike vs Jeffrey. Winner is safe, loser goes to Limbo. Mike: "It comes down to Jeffrey being overweight and me being blind."

It's a very close challenge but, Jeffrey managed to come out ahead. So Mike will go to Limbo.

Erica gets 2 votes (Kevin and Andrea)
Erica votes for Kevin and so does Jeffrey! It's a tie, so Kevin must vote and not surprisingly, he chooses Erica.

But, in a twist, the 2 do not have to leave the house this week, thanks to America's vote.

Next week, the winner will be crowned. I think the winner will be either Kevin or Jeffrey.

The Glass House, Ep. 8

Hilarious opening to the show: the house rocks out to Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe". I loved Jeffrey singing and dancing along! Kevin also showed off some pretty good moves! That was great!

I love this challenge: they must speak in a British accent for 24 hours! Some were much better than others. I love that they said Jeffrey's sounded like Forrest Gump...it did!!

Who's coming back? Hopefully not Joy, because I'm sick of Goy or Jene (whatever their celebrity couple name would be...see you can't really even make a name, so, they are not a match!). Woohoo! So glad to see Andrea come back! Maybe now Gene will just want to leave...that would be great!

Twist: Joy or Mike could re-enter the house if someone chooses to leave. $ amounts are shown and if someone chooses the money, they leave the house. And the plot thickens...

And at $37,600, Stephanie chooses to go home. America voted and Mike is coming back. Team Kevin is flying high and coming back with a vengeance. Mike's 2 foes: Joy and Stephanie are both gone.

Kevin introduces us to a new term: vote shopping. He says Gene's showmance with Joy was only to win votes from America.

This week's losers: Gene and Jeffrey. Jeffrey had more votes than Gene so he gets first pick of team members. I love Jeffrey's reaction: "I won!"

Everything is going completely right this week! What a turn of events!

Erica and her obsession with Kevin is getting just a tad disturbing. She better get a grip on reality soon.

In the challenge, the contestsnts were assigned emoticons by America. Using marionets, they drop money into either a personal bank for them or a team bank.

Team Jeffrey includes Kevin and Andrea because the 3 most gorgeous people should be on the same team.
Kevin=cool
Jeffrey=crybaby
Andrea=happy
Jeffrey knew Kevin and Andrea will really try, so he decides to put some money in his pocket. The team doesn't know if anyone pockets the money. Kevin knows America sees it, so he does the honorable thing by putting them all in the team tube.

Team Gene includes Mike and Erica.
Gene=boring
Erica=love crazy
Mike=grumpy
On team Gene, Mike decides to fill his own bucket with some cash.

The winner is: Team Jeffrey, which means Gene is going to Limbo. Mike admits to Kevin and Erica that he took some money. Erica is ticked because he probably screwed her because they were on a team. Kevin's worried that if Mike goes to Limbo that Gene could come back. But...Mike threw the challenge, so he deserves to go. They have quite the dilemma ahead of them.

With a vote of 3-2. Erica goes to Limbo with Gene. America: please keep Erica!!!!! I'm so sick of Gene.

The Glass House, Ep. 7

I'm really getting bored with this show. The house does nothing but fight! Unlike Big Brother, there is really no one that I relate with or even want to root for at this point. Half the time, I have no idea what they are fighting about or who is on who's side. Since most of the show is arguing, there isn't much to report on.

Besides fighting, their other conversations are just totally boring. 20 minutes into the episode and nothing has happened.

Who's returning from Limbo? Close vote, 51% was what Jeffrey received to come back over Mike. He volunteered to go to Limbo and it just about backfired.

Losers/Team Captains: Joy and Stephanie
Joy received the fewest votes.

Team Stephanie (Kevin, Erica and Jeffrey) wins over Team Joy (Gene, Andrea).

The house votes, and with a vote of 3-3, Joy must vote...so obviously, she chooses Andrea to join her in Limbo.

I'm so sick of Joy and Gene, so I hope Andrea comes back next week.

The Glass House, Ep. 6

Who's coming back, Holly or Andrea? Let's find out! All I have to say is, this episode better be exciting, because I'm getting pretty sleepy.

What is with the extremely long recap about each and every player? This is ridiculous! Is it just because Bachelor Pad 3 started and they are trying to maybe get some new people to stick around that haven't watched it yet?

Do they really have nothing better to do in the house than to have a gay kissing contest with Jeffrey? "Ew", doesn't even come close to describing Erica and Joy making out with Jeffrey. It was just downright uncomfortable to watch them. And what was even more uncomfortable was watching everyone else watching them. There were some great faces! Kevin! Gene! Haha!! And here I thought that Jeffrey was going to be voting the best kisser, but no, the rest of the house was voting. Weird.

The glass house

People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones!  baah ha ah ha.....  You can't tell me that people don't know about Gene and Joy?  Awww come on....  I'm not sure about this show, it seems some people are not using any type of good strategy, ya think?
The few times I've gotten to actually watch it I'm ready to see Stephanie take a dive.  Everybody says she's so nice, I say so what.  Start stirring up some drama with the "other" side of the house.  Now that would be some GREAT drama.  Come on people in reality tv land!!  You can really mess with these players and you're falling right into what they want and what they want to happen.  MIX IT UP!!  lol

The Glass House, Ep. 5

First 10 minutes? Nothing. But. Drama! None of it even dignifies talking about...just plain stupid, drunk fighting about absolutely nothing! Honestly, I have absolutely no idea what the entire house was fighting about, nor do I care. Time to move on. Seriously.

Kevin returns to the house, and Ashley is gone for good this time. She came back twice, but 3rd time sent her packing. I kind of thought maybe Kevin would be gone due to some of his behavior recently. I don't know why Ashley wasn't gettin' the love, there really wasn't anything wrong with her.

Mike and Holly receive the fewest number of votes this week, which means they will be this week's team captains with a chance of going into Limbo.

Can I just say that the longer this season goes, the more and more bored I'm becoming with each episode. It's definitely no Big Brother that's for sure. Maybe it's just because I don't really like any of the people.

Team Mike wins the challenge, and he is safe from Limbo.

Has Hell frozen over? Prime Time 99, aka Alex, came back up the tubes! The viewers voted him back in???? Nope, he's just to deliver the Fanswers (whew!). And just like that, the evil was gone again.

The votes are in, the other housemate going to Limbo this week is: Andrea. Both Stephanie and Kevin received votes as well.

So, who's coming back? That's a tough one. I'm thinking Andrea.

The Glass House, Ep. 4

The episode starts with Jeffrey bawling his eyes out like a blubbering fool! Seriously, get a grip dude. It's the 3rd week, if it's getting to you like this already, you don't stand a chance.

I really wanted to like Kevin: he's a police officer from Ohio, kind of cute...but...he's not coming off so good any more after his turn on Erica, and now his fight with Joy.

Gene makes the announcement to the cameras that one year ago today that his best friend died. Joy can see that he's upset and he tells her why. Ever since the beginning, those two have kind of had a thing, not really sure why. They don't really seem like each other's type...Mike agrees.

We see a scene from a webisode on July 4, where the houseguests talked to America about who they wanted America to send home. Somehow, it all comes back to race again and Joy and Mike get into a huge argument. This house goes off on the hottest topics that have absolutely nothing to do with what's going on. I really would have like to have seen more of that!

The house is split down the middle: half desperately hoping that Erica comes back (Jeffrey, Andrea, Stephanie) and the other half hoping for an upset (Kevin, Mike, Ashley, Joy). America has spoken, and it's bye-bye Debbie Downer, aka Robin.

Time for the Bottom 2 announcement, and this week's team captains are: Ashley and Holly. Poor Ashley, she's in the bottom for the 3rd time. I'm not sure what she has to do to gain some votes. Well, a story about surviving Hurricane Katrina, could do it.

Prior to the challenge, some major strategizing going on. Since Ashley and Holly are both on the same side, they can plan who to put on which team, to force the other team to pick off one of their own. How? They will put the other side on Holly's team. They will try to make Holly's team lose, so that one person from the other side will have to go up against Holly in Limbo. Of course, none of this can work if Holly's team wins.

For Team Ashley, everyone suspects Stephanie of cheating, and she admits in her interview that she feels safe either way, so she didn't really care whether they won or lost, so she didn't go out of her way to help improve the communication during the challenge. I think they all should be right to consider her a threat. Team Holly, definitely not looking as smooth as Team Ashley, so it looks like their plan might work. The winners are: Team Holly! Just like in Big Brother, expect the unexpected. All the stars must align to pull off such a strategic move, and they were a little out of whack for Team Ashley.

Obviously, Kevin has put a target on his back, and Erica would love nothing more than to return the favor to him. Gene proves to be the swing vote yet again. The votes are in: Stephanie gets 4 votes and Kevin gets 5, so Kevin joins Ashley in Limbo. Can Ashley come back yet again? I would say her chances are pretty good because of Kevin's behavior in the last couple episodes. Stephanie may not feel so comfy now, time to decide who's side she's really on, because they're coming for her!

The Glass House, Ep. 3

New, exciting episode tonight. The previews shown during The Bachelorette, showed some crazy things taking place, so I can't wait! Here we go! Who's going home, Apollo or Holly? I don't really care, because they're either getting rid of a terrible liar or a terrible strategist.

Key Actions to Note During the First Few Minutes:
  • Kevin, Robin and Mike decide to make an alliance.
  • Stephanie shares that she was married and her husband dies. The house feels sorry for her, but now believe she can win the show because America will give her the sympathy vote.
  • Robin shares that she was held at knife-point and that she was almost murdered. And, then she snaps! Erica said that Robin shouldn't try to compete with stories, and that it was Stephanie's moment to share. Apparently, that just flipped Robin's crazy switch. It's obvious...she's losing it! Mike walks out of the room, shaking his head and he says he'll say a prayer for her. He goes to Kevin to tell him about her bizarre behavior, and they aren't sure if they want to be in an alliance with her because she might not be stable. Cut to 4:27 AM and she's cleaning the floor, crying and talking to herself. Cut to her interview and her face is black with make-up from crying. Wow...she's a mental case!
America's Decision
Time to reveal America's decision. My guess is that Holly is staying. I was right! I'm 1 for 2 picking the eliminated houseguest.

The Glass House

Thank you viewers for nixing Alex and his dreams of becoming a so called "epic villain."  Maybe he should take Villainism 101 because he sure does not know the difference between being a villain and just being plain mean.  When playing jeopardy category "lamest epic villains" Alex's name would come up all the way down the category.  ha
What is up with Holly, you lie about what you went to school for "art" and you can't name any artists?  Are you living in a bubble?  Then try to come clean and say you really did go to school for psychology...girl you should get your money back from that school.
What is up with Apollo?  Can you say paranoia?  Strategy, he needs to look that word up in Webster's Dictionary!!  Gee, what kind of test do you take to get on this show?  Maybe while he's in limbo with Holly she can practice her "psychology" on him.  It's a long shot but it might help him if he stays.
It was a tough choice this week, who stays and who goes?  I wouldn't mind if they both go, now that would be epic.   Enough said for now, Later

The Glass House, Ep. 2

Week 2 of The Glass House is here. What has America decided about Alex, will he return or will he be gone for good.  Let's get to it!

We start off by seeing Alex and Jacob going into the Limbo tubes. The houseguests couldn't be happier to be rid of Alex, even if it's only temporary. It didn't take them long to make guesses about who America would send back. However, their guesses don't matter because the "voice" tells them that one person quit. So now, they are trying to figure out which one of them quit. Some think Alex and some think Jacob. Jeffrey said that as Jacob was being lowered into Limbo that he had a really "givey-uppy" face. Haha...great quote! Kevin said that the way that Alex acted, that he wouldn't be surprised if even Alex's friends and families didn't vote for him.

Immediately after the debating, the houseguests took turns impersonating Alex. They were spot-on! I'm so amazed that they had him pegged so perfectly after only being with him for a couple of days. Some of them looked and sounded just like him...scary!

Finally, it was time to find out. Erica said, "Smoke will come out of those holes and the devil will come back from Purgatory." The house looks terrified as Alex is raised up in the Limbo tube. No sooner did he arrive, then he was lowered back down, as America did not vote him back into the house. I was a little surprised. I really thought that America would want to see more of him. They told him to be a villain, after all. But apparently, his plan backfired and he really offended people instead of making good television. His face was priceless as he disappeared.

Now that that's taken care of, the house moves on to other pressing matters: who voted for Erica? Whoever it was, can't be trusted. Some suspect Holly, but she lies to the group, only to later confess to Erica that it was her. She said something about not wanting to follow the house, blah blah blah, but really all she did was make herself a target. And if that wasn't bad enough, others suspect that she is lying about other things as well. Robin thinks she lied about being an art history major because she couldn't name who painted the "Sixteen Chapel".

OK, sidebar here...I'm pretty sure she said "Sixteen", which is weird, in and of itself. But, even weirder is that on another show (I think it was Dallas), just last week, someone else said the exact same thing. So now I"m wondering if I'm the stupid one for thinking that it is Sisteen Chapel and not Sixteen...or maybe I'm just deaf.

OK, back to the show. They confront Holly about her actual major and they ask her to name some papers she wrote...and she can't. She confesses that she's a bad liar, and that she is really a psych major and she didn't want people to know because they might see her as a threat. Robin still isn't buying it, so she said, "name one psychologist that you studied". Holly says, "Um...I...uh...", for a REALLY long time. By now, it's obvious she has no clue. She then says "Dr. Phil". What? Really? Absolutely hilarious! They ask her to name what her last paper was on and she says, "I did it on...um...it was...I'm really not lying about this." And...she couldn't do it! EPIC FAIL! Just for kicks, I went back and looked at what her occupation was: Retail Sales. Um, yeah, not quite psychology. Target is now HUGE and squarely on her back!

The Glass House, Ep. 1 (Series Premiere)

Here we go, the very first episode of The Glass House! Much has been said about the obvious and not-so-subtle comparisons to Big Brother. CBS tried to ban the show, citing the apparent copying of their own show, but the courts allowed ABC to go forward with The Glass House. The ratings for the first episode were less than stellar, so CBS may not have to worry about much competition. Part of the problem, I think, was that because of the on-going court battle, I don't think ABC was allowed to promote the show, seeing as it may never actually be allowed to air...so I don't think many people actually knew what it was or when it was airing.  Hopefully, the show will gain some buzz and more people will give it a try.  My overall thoughts on the first episode were that it did start a bit slow, but I think the show has a lot of potential, and it could find a place separate from Big Brother.  So, let's get into it already!  Here's what you need to know:

Show Format:  14 contestants are placed in a (you guessed it) glass house. Each week, a competition is held. The losing team's captain plus one other team member will be expelled into limbo (gotta love the terminology). At that point it is up to the viewing audience's vote as to who goes home. The audience can also vote on competitions and other things for the houseguests to do. This is the biggest difference from Big Brother; contestants aren't just playing against each other, they are also trying to win over America. The last person standing will win $250,000.

Meet the Houseguests:
Alex - 25, bail bondsman from Dallas, TX
Andrea-31 bookkeeper from Valencia, CA
Apollo-28 poet/author from Phoenix, AZ
Ashley-30 paralegal from New Orleans, LA
Erica-27 cocktail waitress from Denver, CO
Gene-28 stuntman from Chicago, IL
Holly-21 retail sales from Detroit, MI
Jacob-28 cookfrom Coos Bay, OR
Jeffrey-35 receptionist from Brooklyn, NY
Joy-27 nurse from Fredericksburg, VA
Kevin-33 police sergeant from Toledo, OH
Mike-48 bar mitzvah dj from Pembroke, MA
Robin-43 blogger from Washington, DC
Stephanie-32 scientist from Boston, MA

Notable Opening Quotes:
Alex: "I'm primetime 99 Alex Stein." - That alone suggests we have a real winner here.
Apollo: "Wow the house is made of glass, I never would have guessed."
Gene: "I'm 6'7" about 340 of just huge awesomeness."
Erica: "The stakes are very high...at least for me, because I am broke as a joke."
Jacob: "The viewers are definitely looking for someone like me. They're looking for a funny, goofy personality with really good looks and a good body, so how could you beat that?"
Jeffrey: "I'm bold, I'm beautiful. I consider myself 'fat hot'" so I mean, I'm holding down the like hot, fat, gay guy thing too, pretty good I think." - Wow "fat hot?" that's quite the oxymoron.
Mike...I'm 48. I'm gonna be dead in a couple years! This is my last big harrah in life." - Oh, and "harrah" with his accent comes out as "harar".

So, what happened this episode?
