The basis for the show is simple: former Bachelors and Bachelorettes go to Mexico (paradise). Each week, new contestants will arrive. If the current group find love, they stay...the ones who aren't paired up, will go home. Basically, it's The Bachelor meets Paradise Hotel (which I loved!!) Let the craziness begin!
We start the show with:
Clare, Marcus, Sarah, Marquel, Daniella, Graham, Lacy, Ben, Michelle K, Robert, Dylan, Elise, AshLee
Initial reactions as the group meets each other:
- Graham looks older and more mature than the rest
- Marcus is gorgeous and was dressed great
- Marquel has a great smile
- No one knows who Lacy is, but they think she's gorgeous; Marcus has an instant connection with her
- No one can believe Ben is there
- No one can believe Michelle K is there because she's nutso
- Marquel was way too excited to see Dylan
- Dylan and Elise make an instant connection
- AshLee purposely came to meet Graham and she was excited to see that he was, and he was the last one she saw, but the first one to offer her a drink; she's pretty obsessed with him and she's sure that he has a crush on her too
Chris gathers the group and welcomes them. As a joke, he asked "is everyone single". Michelle, being the idiot she is, says "maybe" with a sly grin. Chris asked what she meant by that, and she said "it's paradise". OK, weird answer. Immediately, Graham gets up and moves away from her. He said he's only interested in people who are extremely single.
We start the show with 7 girls and 6 guys. That means, at the Rose Ceremony, the one girl who isn't picked will be going home. Next week, the girls will have the roses and one of the guys will be going home.
They haven't been there for more than 15 minutes and Lacy and Robert are all over each other in the ocean...and everyone sees them. Wow, that didn't take long.
Meanwhile, later that night, a still heart-broken Marcus wanders out to the ocean by himself. The rest of the group makes fun of Marcus's little orange underwear. Later, he's joined by...guess who...Lacy. She is really moving fast. Sarah was upset because, so far, Marcus was the only one she found physically attractive. Robert was upset because he was "stealing" his girl. She's making herself quite the target.
Dylan and Elise take their turn in the ocean together, and it led to them making out. Marcus and Clare were on the beach and were watching with play-by-play.
Date Card Drama
Michelle finds the Date Card. Clare is chosen for the first date. She gets to choose who she wants to go on the date with. She said she had a dream that she got the first date. Her choice to go on the date with her was Graham. That is sure to make AshLee very upset! And sure enough, she goes in the bathroom and cries. She was upset with HIM! He got chosen by Clare, not the other way around. She know says that she will never speak to him again. What a child! Let's remember, she's only known him for 24 hours! Now everyone is afraid to do anything with Graham because they are afraid that AshLee will kill them in their sleep. They think she's totally crazy!
Clare is now upset that she upset someone else. She said that if she had known that she liked Graham that she wouln't have asked him. She wanted to enjoy this because she had a dream about going to the ruins, and now she can't have fun. And she also got bit by fire ants...oh wah wah wah! Clare offered to let AshLee going on the date with Graham and she said no because it was her date. She said he obviously said yes for a reason. Clare said that he couldn't really say no, and AshLee said "yes, he could have". Then Clare tells her that she would pick a different guy, and AshLee said "that's fair". AshLee said that she should feel bad because she took away Clare's choice for the date, and Graham's opportunity for the date (which he was excited to do because he wanted to see the ruins), but she really didn't feel too bad about it.
So, she tells Graham that it would be best if she picked someone else. Her second choice is Robert. Graham said AshLee was very upset with him. He tried to talk to her, and she really didn't want to talk to him. She said they could talk tomorrow. Really? You're a grown woman, act like it.
Clare & Robert's Date
The 2 of them have met before and have hung out in the same circles before. She never really thought about him like this before, and she is anxious to get to know him more.
They get to explore some ancient ruins. They get started, and all of a sudden, Robert is consumed by fire ants! They are literally all over his body within a matter of seconds. Her suggestion: "take off your shirt!" Nice one Clare!
At the top, Clare had to re-enact her dream of her standing with her arms over her head. Robert took her picture and then they took a couple of cute selfies together. They actually make a really cute couple.
After seeing the ruins, they go for a swim in the ocean. They seem to really be hitting it off.
After the date, Lacy wanted to talk to Robert. She asked him if he and Clare kissed. He said they didn't.
Date Card #2: Sarah
Sarah is nervous about asking someone out, and she chooses Marcus. And, more drama ensues...so now Lacy is upset.
Their date starts off with them walking down into a cave. A sign said "Solo Traje de Baño", which means "only bathing suits". As they get down further, they see a huge pool of water. The steps just end, and they are on a huge platform. After a little bit of unsurety, they jump in. Before the second jump, she said she wanted to kiss him first. And it worked. Sarah was pretty proud of herself because she is normally really shy, and now, not only did she ask a guy out, but she just asked the cutest boy to kiss her.
New Arrival: Michelle Money
With another girl arriving, this means that 2 girls will be going home at the Rose Ceremony. Graham was excited to see his Bachelor Pad partner-in-crime.
Michelle announced that she had a Date Card. She said it was really awkward, since she just arrived. So, of course she asks to talk to Graham. Yet another person for AshLee to be upset with. It's clear they still have some sort of connection...they even have their own secret handshake.
AshLee knows she needs to talk to Graham before Michelle makes her decision. She knows that if Graham doesn't give her a rose, she's not going to get a rose and she will go home. She apologizes for how she acted. He said what hurt him the most was her refusing to talk to him. He said everything was all good...we'll see.
Michelle decided to take a chance with Marquel. She said she has had her eye on him, and wants to get to know him more.
Michelle and Marquel's Date
Their date starts off with some horseback riding. Marquel has never been around horses before, so this should be interesting. He gets clotheslined by a tree! Ha! Once they got to the beach, he had his horse under control, but Michelle continued to be quite a bit in front of him.
They seemed to be forming a good connection.
Date Card #4: Lacy
It's now Lacy's turn to decide. Oh, who will she choose? The guys have been pretty calm so far, but with both Robert and Marcus being really interested in her, this could be interesting.
She chooses Robert. So, Robert is the first one to get asked on 2 dates. Marcus was a little upset that she chose Robert over him. He's now thinking of giving his rose to Sarah since they had a nice date together.
Lacy & Robert's Date
They share a romantic dinner on the beach, followed by a frolic in the ocean. There was definitely some kissing going on. Poor Marcus, all of the pain of losing Andi is coming back again, and he's afraid he's going to be hurt again.
Cocktail Party
Ben said that he and Marcus's roses are wildcards. He said that he hasn't really had a connection with any of the girls yet.
AshLee thinks she has mended things with Graham, and she is SURE that she is getting a rose.
Based on the "couples" who have grouped up, Michelle K, Daniella, Clare and Sarah are the ones who are unsure about whether they will get a rose or not. I can guarantee that Michelle K will be one of the girls going home. The guys would have to be stupid to get involved with her. She hasn't really even tried to get to know any of the guys, and actually seems kind of annoyed when they try to talk to her.
Sarah talked to Marcus and was hoping to find out who he wanted to give his rose to. He told her he is interested in Lacy, but he's pretty sure Robert will give his rose to her. He said that he had a great time on their date and feels that she deserves to be there. She told him that she would love to get the rose, but doesn't want him to feel obligated to give her the rose just because she invited him on the date.
Rose Ceremony
The guys have all the power. They each have a rose to hand out. The 2 girls who don't receive a rose will be going home.
Marquel is the first to hand out a rose, but before he gets to...miss nutjob, Michelle K, speaks out and says she wants to say something before he hands out the rose. Let me guess...she wants to leave because she's not interested in any of the guys? Yep, she said she hasn't made any connections, and she thinks to be fair to the other girls, she thinks she should leave. Don't think anyone will be too sad about that. Marquel said it best: "Let's be honest, the coconut doesn't fall far from the crazy tree." In the limo, she was asked if she thinks she will find love, and she said maybe she already has. That pretty much just sums it up from her first night when she said she "might be single".
