Kelsey Drama Continued
Last week we ended with Kelsey collapsed on the bathroom floor receiving medical attention right before the Rose Ceremony. She "appears" to be having a panic attack. I'm not really sure what this was, since she seemed fine when she left the room. They start to give her oxygen and ask her how bad the pain is. She said she's not in pain. They asked what they could get for her, and she said she wanted to talk to Chris. While someone went to get him, she sat up and told the medic "I'm gonna get a rose tonight for sure." And at this point she was laughing like she had just gotten away with something. I can't believe this girl! This is so ridiculous! If only Chris could see this! I can tell you one thing, I can't wait for the Women Tell All! Jade was around the corner, and she heard what she was saying.
Chris comes and now she's acting all woosy, and said she was OK but just got overwhelmed. She said she didn't know that he would take their conversation and then decide to cancel the Rose Ceremony. He told her that it wasn't anything that she had said. He told her she looked great and helped her up. Wow, what a quick recovery. Then she enters the room with the girls, and she's crying. Seriously? She tells them that she was embarrassed but the weight of her conversation with Chris and everything that she just got overwhelmed and fainted. NO ONE is buying this load of bull crap. She then started laughing, saying that she said some really delusional things while she was on the floor. Then she starts making all kinds of jokes, like her getting all dressed up, and "these don't come out every day" (talking about her boobs). I really hope she's embarrassed by her performance right now watching it back. She is so incredibly delusional! And we thought Ashley S. was the crazy one!
Rose Ceremony
Get Roses: Ashley I., Becca, Britt (date rose), Carly (date rose), Jade, Kaitlyn, Kelsey, Megan, Whitney (group rose)
Going Home: Mackenzie and Samantha
Good riddance to the immature Mackenzie. The poor thing said she didn't know what she would do if she had to go home. And then there's Samantha...yes, there was a Samantha on this season. Who knows how she made it so long without us seeing more than 2 words from her.
The girls are all livid that Kelsey's antics got her another rose. They all think she is taking advantage and taking a spot from someone who actually deserved it. Her nickname is now the "black widow". Yikes!
And now, they are off to Deadwood, South Dakota. Chris said he is hoping to leave the drama behind, and he just wants to have fun...so that's why they are going to Deadwood. OK. He said he's there to find a wife, he's not there for the drama. My question: so then why did you keep a couple of the girls who are nothing BUT drama?!? (Kelsey and Ashley)
Date #1: Becca
Kelsey's face was hilarious! She said her telling Chris about her story warranted her a one-on-one. She said she deserved it. Ha!
Chris is totally OK that things are moving slowly with Becca, and with her being the only one he hasn't kissed yet.
He leads her into the woods, and there are 2 horses saddled up, and also a cute donkey. The donkey didn't go with them, so I'm not sure why he was there. Even though she had never ridden a horse before, she jumped on and took off like a champ.
Clearly nothing interesting happens during the day portion of the date, because we jump right into their evening campfire. Becca can't stop laughing at how Chris laughs.
Chris said this has been the most real date he's been on so far. They talk about their 5-year (or 15-year) plans, and how many kids they want to have. They seem to have the same goals.
I've really liked Becca, even though we haven't seen too much of her. She seems the most normal...almost too normal for this show.
Becca is hoping Chris will kiss her tonight, finally. She got the rose and a just a little. quick kiss. And then, she kind of leaned in for a more passionate kiss.
Girl Drama
Back at the hotel, the girls are talking about Kelsey. She joins the group, and Whitney confronts her. She said it's been bothering her since the Rose Ceremony that she was laughing about everything, and then she goes to the bathroom and calls for Chris, and then is overheard saying that she should get a rose. On cue, she starts fake laughing again with that annoying laugh. She said it's her nervous laugh. She said she thought she had overcome an emotional hurdle talking to Chris and she didn't give herself enough time to deal with it...cue the tears now. She said that Chris being so upset and walking out of the room made her feel really unsafe. She said she had never had a panic attack before...pause for dramatic effect..."it was terrifying". That was probably one of the most fake things she's done yet...it was so acted.
Carly said she thinks that Chris is seeing a totally different side of her than they are seeing. The girls see a girl who is not so nice and makes sly comments. Kelsey said that she genuinely likes everyone and respects them. She's embarrassed because she doesn't know she is saying anything like that...she's totally unaware. Cut to her ITM, where she said "I get it, I'm blessed with eloquence, I'm articulate and I use big words...because I'm smart". What in the heck does that have to do with anything?! She said she hasn't gone through all of the shit of losing a spouse to be ganged up by some girls...all the while with a smile on her face like it's a big joke. She said she didn't come on the show to be defeated, "I came to win it". Yes, she said "win it"...clearly she is not in this for the right reasons, if you hadn't gotten the message up until now.
Date #2: Whitney, Jade, Britt, Kaitlyn, Carly and Megan
Because Chris is all about country music, they are going to write some country music songs. Jade is not thrilled. Carly, on the other hand, couldn't be happier...because she's a singer obviously.
Big & Rich show up, and Whitney was so starstruck. They are going to give the girls some help and motivation to write their songs.
Jade was struggling, and "Big" took her out to the street and told her to run with him. He was shouting some nonsense, and I don't see how this is supposed to help her. She says it helped...that was until she saw Chris and Britt getting all cozy by the bar, and that totally shot her confidence back down again.
It's time for them to show us what they've got. Chris joined the party and performed his own song to break the ice. "Board up your windows, because it's about to get bad"...haha! I'm just glad he knows that he really can't sing. He really tried though...but yikes!
Britt actually had a really nice voice, even though she was nervous. Chris said he was borderline bawling.
Kaitlyn of course got bleeped in her really upbeat performance.
Whitney and Megan, we didn't really get to see much of.
Carly pulled Chris up and sang right to him on the step. Of course, hers doesn't disappoint. It would have been pretty bad if she couldn't have nailed this. Her song was great, and her voice was great. She knocked it out of the ballpark.
Jade goes last, and she is so worried about making a fool of herself. Her song was actually pretty good. Her voice wasn't the best, but she put herself out there and she made it through.
Later in the evening, Jade tells Chris that she hasn't really talked a lot about her feelings with him, and that's why she put that in her song. She said she could see herself moving to Iowa, which really made Chris happy.
Kaitlyn and Chris reaffirm that they still have the same feelings for each other and nothing has changed.
Chris says he has such a weird chemistry and thing with Britt. One minute they are talking, the next minute, he grabs her hand and they just take off running into the street, and he takes her to a Big & Rich concert. They pull them up on the stage with them. Those other girls are gonna be so jealous! And to think, she's not a country fan, and some of the other girls really are, and they would have loved that experience.
Then, on stage, he gives her the rose and they make out...in front of a HUGE crowd of people. Then they get to dance around on stage while they sing "Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy". Which, by the way, is the only song of Big and Rich that I know. At the end, they changed the words to "ride a farmboy"...haha!
Britt and Chris finally come back to the other girls, and if looks could kill, I think Britt and Chris would have dropped dead. Those girls were so bummed. You could have heard a pin drop. And so, he said goodnight and walked out. It was so awkward.
Whitney was so upset because Britt was gone for an hour, and went to a country show when she hates country music. They all think she is getting special treatment. They all feel like they are putting themselves out there, and having a great time with Chris, but then someone else is getting all of the attention instead of them. One by one, they all got up, and walked away crying.
Date #3: Kelsey and Ashley
Ashley is happy because going up against Kelsey, and it pretty much guarantees that she will get the rose. She said he will spend half the day with Kelsey and realizes how much she sucks. Ashley compares herself to Glinda the good witch, and Kelsey is the wicked witch of the west. Surprisingly Kelsey is pretty happy about this because essentially it's a 1-on-1 date if he just sends Ashley home so they can be alone. You see where this is going don't you...
They take a helicopter ride past Mt. Rushmore. That would be pretty cool to see it from that high.
Kelsey annoyed the crap out of Ashley, the entire ride. "I just can't even", she said. She thinks her mission is to just be as annoying as possible. Mission accomplished.
They land in the middle of nowhere in the badlands, where there is a little tent set up. He makes a toast, and then there is complete, awkward silence.
He takes Ashley for a little walk to talk. But they end up making out instead. Ashley is excited to finally have some uninterrupted time with him. He said she seems to be doing well and handling things well (um, Chris, where have you been?). I know he doesn't see everything, but he did have her come crying to him over that stupid virgin nonsense. Immediately, she jumps into the drama in the house and she doesn't waste more than 2 seconds saying that Kelsey is in the middle of it. She says she's the only one who hasn't gelled with everyone, and they think she is fake and being really strategic with how she is handling herself. Chris thanked her for her honesty because he needs to know those things. She said she was doing it on behalf of all of the other girls, and it just needed to be said.
It's Kelsey's turn. I can hardly wait to see what she's going to say. As they walk away, Ashley says in an ITM that she may be a virgin, but she's sexy, and Kelsey is not. Ouch!
He asks Kelsey how things are going in the house. She said it's more intense and it's hard to have a friendship in the house and have the feelings with him. She tells him that his job is determining who is ready to be a wife for him, and she is obviously ready because she's been one. Now, he just needs to figure out if she's the right one for him. She said he just has to ask her questions to learn more about her. He said that's important, but it's also important to him that the person he picks is able to handle social situations as well. He said his wife needs to be someone who people want to be around. He said Ashley just told him that she is being fake, and that scares him. She says she's hurt, and she thought Ashley was someone she could trust and be friends with. He said he hasn't heard anything from anyone else, but Ashley felt strongly about it and needed to say something. OK, so this was the absolute WRONG thing for him to say and do! Yes, he should have carefully broached the subject about the girls and the house to see what she would say. He absolutely should NOT have thrown Ashley under the bus, and say that she JUST told him this! He even said it himself that he didn't have anyone else tell him anything, so he should have approached this much more cautiously until he had more information...especially considering the source. He took Ashley with what she said because a majority of girls felt the same way (according to Ashley). Is Ashley 1000% correct about Kelsey? Absolutely, but we know much more about what's going on than he did. I can see why this date is going to be a trainwreck for the books. She doesn't want him to throw away what they have because of girl talk.
Kelsey lashed out in an ITM saying "She's a Kardashian who didn't get to go on her princess date, and has too much makeup on to be genuine". She comes back to where Ashley is by herself, and Ashley just ignores her. Awkward! Kelsey just stared daggers at her, while Ashley looked the opposite direction. Silence. Finally Kelsey said "I know what you did." Ashley acted ignorant. She said "You don't think I'm as smart as you because I don't use big words? I'm not from Pleasantville, I'm from freakin' 2014. You and I both have our Masters, and I have mine from a good place, and if you don't think that I'm intelligent enough to see through you, then who cares." Kelsey said she meant what she said the other night and she still respects her.
Ashley gets up and walks away to find Chris. She cries and sobs and asks him why he told her what she said to him. Now, who's having a panic attack? She claims to be the complete opposite from Kelsey, but they are so the same! He said he needed to hear her out, and he couldn't lie and not say that she had said it. He also said that she said it was a difference in maturity, which only made Ashley sob louder and more uncontrollably. Chris, I'm sorry, but you are not doing a good job here. I know these 2 are basket cases, but you certainly aren't doing anything to make things go any better. She feels awful that every time she's around him, she has to cry. She said she feels like she cares so much more than Kelsey does. Chris has no words basically. He said regardless of what happened today, that he thinks they are in 2 different places in their lives and their worlds are too different. He doesn't think she would be happy, and he doesn't think he could give her the kind of lifestyle she wants (aka the "princess" lifestyle). She is crying so loud, it's hard to hear what he's saying. She said, "and wait, you think Britt wants this lifestyle, and you think she wants that lifestyle more than me (she kind of has a point there)." He said he didn't know. She said he was making a huge mistake, and she can't believe she's acting like this. He said she should know how much he does care about her. Not like that matters. She said she tried to help him, and she walks off sobbing, while Kelsey is all smiles. Just you wait honey, your time is coming. Ashley said she couldn't believe that he wouldn't give her a second chance, after he gave Ashley S. so many chances and people came back and he gave them another chance.
Chris joins Kelsey (and you can still hear Ashley crying in the distance). Chris tells her that he just sent Ashley home, and she tries to act concerned for the "loss". He said he thought a lot about their conversation and he just doesn't know if it's there between them. He feels like, right now, in this situation, the best thing he can do is be honest with her and even though he hates it, he thinks she deserves someone who is in it 110%, and he can't be that for her. She surprisingly took it very well. And with that, Chris gets into the helicopter alone and leaves her there by herself. It does really make you wonder about her when you see how OK she is with this, seeing as she had a "panic attack" a day or two before that. Ashley, on the other hand, is still sobbing uncontrollably...you can tell it meant a whole lot more to her.
Back at the hotel, the girls are devastated when Ashley's bags are picked up. They can't make any sense out of what is happening.
Later, the girls rejoice with screams and cheers when Kelsey's bags are picked up. They even have some celebratory drinks now that she's gone.
